JO- How did the chore list work? Are the kids ok with it? Any--I have more to do than ___ complaints? Are you giving them specific times to do them? I am procrastinating right now doing something! :rotfl:

Sukie-- My mom can't give updates on me. She's going with me...plus she can't even turn on a computer!

Whgrn---hope you're feeling better and able to get around now ok.

D&D---Pikester and Marie will help me warm things up...never fear.

I did see the Weather Channel has snow flurries in Sat forecast for here but local channel did not. I know it'll change by then anyway.

M&N, DD13 looked over the chore list and complained that she has to do so much now (insert teenage whiny voice). It's not really much to do each day if everyone does what they are suppose to. The bathroom will get cleaned 3 days a week, once by me, DD, and DS. I'm thinking by doing it more often, it won't get as dirty and then be quicker to clean each time. It's not going to start till next week though but they know the time is coming.

I haven't checked the weather for here lately. I figure I'll know better what the weather is when I wake up and look outside that morning. I never trust the weatherperson. :rotfl:

:cool1::worship::yay::dance3::cheer2::banana: I DID IT!!!!!!

I rode a bike!!! Today in PT I asked Charlie if he thought I could give it try, and he agreed. And I DID it! For about 10-15 minutes, and I was fine!! It wasn't too hard, and it didn't hurt! So now I will ride for a bit every day! I am SOOOO pumped!

Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I'm leaving tomorrow! and Marie is too!

Whgrn - :woohoo: on riding that bike! You go girl!

Weather here --- predicting snow on Wed. :scared1: They are telling us to keep up with the forecast. Could be 3-5 inches. I know its Dec. now, but still not ready for it.

Hey D&D---you are the one entrusted with the list of our comings and goings! I'm worried about you...must be getting too cold there! :rotfl: I copied this from your pm:
Kitty - Leaving for Phils in 6 days and returning on Dec. 4th.
Pikester - At WDW Nov. 29 - Dec. 5th
Marie - At WDW Dec. 2-16th
M&N - At WDW Dec. 2-16th
D&D - At WDW Dec. 16th - 20th

The biker's back! Great news!

JO---Keep nagging if necessary! Tell her welcome to the real world! After all, you're not getting any younger and need to conserve that strength to beat the kids!!! :rotfl:

Maybe we can get a 'group rate' on that coal:santa::rolleyes: Check out that www.gift.com site I mentioned before..:surfweb:..it really has some neat ideas. Things they didn't even know they wanted.:goodvibes
What did you order your DH????
If my DH doesn't stop 'gifting' the house with all the things he wants there won't be anything but coal in his stocking this year.

Granted, I do like the Keurig Coffee Maker he got last week. Now he wants a fire pit? I told him if it's that cold outside, I'm gonna' be inside. :confused3We don't even use the fireplace in the living room-we've been here almost 10 years and have never burned a log or put in the gas logs-why the need for fire now????
He said he's getting it so DD can let her friends make smores at the Xmas party next weekend:confused: yeah, sure....he wants one because his buddy in the neighborhood has one...:sad2:

Stay warm over there-I saw the weather about the snow-makes me miss skiing in NM. Be careful and I'll send you a hot cup of coffee.
I got DH some golf GPS doohickey..I think it shows the golf course. His golfing buddies have them. He gave me a name I ordered it..We really surprise ourselves.

Well it has definitely snowed! At least 4 inches. This is the most it has ever snowed since we moved here 11 years ago. It also made my walk in the morning more strenuous. It's still snowing!

DL55, you're snow pictures are wonderful! There is no chance of that happening around here, but I sure do enjoy seeing the pictures!

WOW! Real pretty DL55. I love it when it sticks to the trees...makes it sooo beautiful. Just so it melts fast! I'm going to have snow in FL too! Of course it's fake but that's the best kind!

I received this email and thought you all would like it too...

Our daughter-in-law, Emily (MacInnes) Somers, created, directed and choreographed this in Portland last week for her Medline glove division as a fundraiser for breast cancer awareness. This was all her idea to help promote their new pink gloves. I don't know how she got so many employees, doctors and patients to participate, but it started to really catch on and they all
had a lot of fun doing it.
When the video gets 1 million hits, Medline will be making a huge contribution to the hospital, as well as offering free mammograms for the community. Please check it out. It's an easy and great way to donate to a wonderful
cause, and who hasn't been touched by breast cancer?

Great News.....
Here, you should add this to your siggie

....it's our favorite picture from last Christmas.

It's stopped snowing. My DH has stayed home (we're wimps). Now I know why there are mud rooms. There was a puddle at the front door. I told DH he'll have yard work to do when the snow melts. I have never seen the trees and bushes so bent from all the snow. We could hear some branches break but they are small ones. have to get off..DH wants on the computer. :surfweb:

DL55, very pretty pictures. As long as it isn't HERE!!

Bopsmom, I love the bike picture!

M&N I saw that video--it's gone viral on YouTube. It's GREAT!!! What a fun bunch of people they seem to be, and it's all for such a great cause. Loved it!

Hi everyone. 12/1~3:40pm~80* Pikester called again and they are having a great time. The guys were in the pool again. They will be getting ready to go to the HDDR at 5:00pm. Last night was EPCOTand they were there real late. The guys never saw "Illuminations" before. I am having her get me some pins for my collection. Top of the list is "Chip and Dale", then "Donald", "Pluto" and "Goofy". I guess "Daisy" is hard to come by so maybe next time. Keep you posted.

I told her you all said hi.

::MickeyMo Safe travels for M&N and marie. Say hi to "MICKEY" for me.

Chat later.

Evening Ladies:

Bon Voyage M&N and Marie...have a great time!!

Sukie ~ Thanks for the updates, glad to hear that Pike & family are having fun...to bad we aren't there with her this year!!

Wendy ~ I see we all had the same idea & were searching for that cap...I was going to offer you an address in Scotland to send it to but it sounds like you got a pretty good deal on the shipping...my aunt sent the kids pjs for Christmas and it was 10 pounds to mail them and that was surface not air mail!!

I'm liking that it's 45*F here and no snow!! I definite change from last year...apparently it's the first time in decades there has been no snowfall in Nov. Can't believe that NM and Texas are getting it instead!

Good morning ladies!!!! Gonna have to make this quick before I hop in the shower! We are leaving for the airport in 2 hours!

I hope I have everything. I think I do. Now I am just hoping everything else goes smoothly. Can you believe there is snow here in Texas this morning? Just what we need for a drive to the airport. So far our flight shows to be on time. Hoping it works out that I get to meet some of my fellow TKers. I will be back in 2 weeks with details and lots of photos. :grouphug:

OK, I need to pick the brains of all my expert TK friends.

My PT is going to WDW Jan 28-31. They got fabulous rates ($58 and $62/night) at All-Star Music. He's new to this whole thing--hasn't been to Disney since he was a kid. Didn't even know about ADRs!

He is going with a friend and their wives. 2 in their 20s, 2 in their 30s, no kids. Money isn't a big issue but they do want to get their money's worth. They are willing to pay a little extra for special stuff.

What they want to do is get one of the dining plans, do a character breakfast, do TS dinners at nice places, CS lunches, and some snacks thrown in is fine but not necessary. They are getting 4-day park hoppers, and will likely go to AK the first day, since they won't have a full day, and then go to Epcot for dinner and IllumiNations. I told him he's well past the 90 day point for ADRs, so he needs to get on that pronto. Here are his questions:

Which dining plan is best for what he wants?
What are the best character breakfasts? He loves Winnie the Pooh, but thinks the CP breakfast is full.
What are the best restaurants at Epcot? At MK? At the resorts?
What else does he need to know?

Also, he said the one day they have EMH at Epcot. That will make that a crazy busy evening there, right? So shouldn't they avoid Epcot that day? Or should they go and deal with the crowds to use the extra time? I did tell him not to do MK the day they have early opening for resort guests.

Anything you can tell me would be most helpful! I did tell him about the DIS but warned him about how snarky some folks can be to newbies. Thought it might be safer to just ask you experts!

Thanks!

bye bye M&N and mariezp! have fun, don't stress

whgrn Can't help with the dining plans, never used them. I believe EMH makes the least impact at Epcot, so if they want to get there early to participate in an EMH this would be the easiest. other wise it's better to avoid EMH especially if you don't do rope drop. I hope they have a great time.

Sun is out. :) Still have snow on the roofs. It looks so pretty. I keep looking because usually the snow doesn't last too long. Then again I haven't seen it this heavy before. The newspaper had the statistics for snowfall here. The past few winters we've had 0 to 3 inches for the entire winter. In 1992 (before we came) they had 14 inches for the months of Dec- Mar. ! :santa:

Hey Wendy - Here's what we found from last year:

We did two character bkfts - liked Chef Mickey's more than Lilo & Stitch which was opposite from what the boards said. Unfortunately no Pooh but Mickey, Minnie Goofy and Pluto were great and the buffet was very good.

Definitely avoid EMHs.

As for resorts we did Boma, Whispering Canyon, Kona and Narcoossee's. Narcoossee's was by far the best (yum lobster!) but counts as two meals credits. Boma is a buffet but you get to try African food if they are adventurous. Whispering Canyon is OK but I don't think I'd go without kids as everything is aim at entertaining them. Kona has an amazing bkft and is well worth going to.

For CS I'd recommend Flametree at AK, Earl of Sandwich at DTD and Seasons at Epcot.

Hope everyone had a great day.
