I just let Jingle out of her crate and the first thing she did was get her straw and bring it to me. She's sore and walking delicately, but her spirit is strong. I've had to pick her up to put her next to me on the couch, but she won't stay still. There's lots of the world to explore...

I could just cry she looks so sad walking around like this with a shaved belly. I feel so bad!

Has anyone had the new pieces candy advertised on tv? I guess its like reese's pieces. I'm most interested in the almond joy pieces but haven't seen them in the store anywhere. I did see the Just born peeps. Mini peeps! So cute!

The sun is shining and men are tromping all over my roof. They are installing our new heat/A/C.

Poor kitty and poor mama kitty!! Its so hard to watch them cope. Hope she's feeling better soon.

DH loves Mounds too. Can only find it around here near Halloween. Why is that it is so hard to find???

Now that we have heat it's going to be 83 today.
I looked all over our WalMart and couldn't find any large Cadbury eggs. Looking forward to next Monday when we go and stock up on half price candy. Too bad it'll be all gone before our trip.

Afternoon ladies...its been windy and rainy here. Some lower regions are bracing for flooding. Its been quite a wet spring so far.

DL55...didn't you get both AC/heat yesterday? Congrats on getting them and not having to use them. 83 sounds heavenly! Enjoy it for me!

I like Mounds too...never thought to look for them. Now I will when I go out next. Yum. Anything coconut really...I like I like!

Jingle is doing well. We had a rough night. Wanted to be with me all the time, so I slept on the couch. She wouldn't be able to jump off/on my bed. She was even having problems last night. But she's not holding it against me; we're friends again.

My cousin's wife wrote me that her cat died Monday night. Her hubby got home from work and tried to feed her, but she wouldn't eat. She had a stroke last Sept, and when she had it, she fell and broke her back and has not been up since Sept. She died shortly after he got home and before he went to bed he buried her. He cried the whole time he was burying her. I'm not sure how long they had her...it was a stray and they thought she must have been over 15. I guess soft hearts run in the family...

Good morning! Sorry I wasn't here last night to discuss DTWS...I really thought Kate was going to get kicked off. She had a sourpuss the entire time. I hope she takes this chance to lighten up and relax and little. Shannon exited gracefully. I was freaking out that Pamela was in the bottom two! I thought she was doing great.

Oh, M&N...that kitty story makes me sad. My cats have to live forever. 15 years seems too short to be together.

It has finally stopped raining, at least for a little bit. Supposed to continue in spats through this afternoon, but going to be GORGEOUS this weekend. I'm looking forward to it.

Morning! It has finally stopped raining here. Still no sun but at this point, I'll take what I can get. DH ended up out of town last night and the kids were totally hyper so I never made it here.

I wasn't surprised to see Shannon gone from DWTS. She doesn't seem to have a fan base anymore. I was shocked to see Pam in the bottom two though. I thought Aiden would have been down there. I think Kate will be around for a while even though she totally stinks. At this point, I think there are enough people voting for her just to see how bad she does along with the people who actually like her. As for me, the more I see of her, the more I dislike her. She comes across as manipulative witch with a capital B.

I've been spending some time reading a post in the community area about that poor girl in MA who hung herself because she was being bullied.

My kitty is 15yrs old this June.

No rain but cloudy. Can't wait for warmer weather.

Pikester...I've been catching bits and pieces of that story. So sad! It must be so unbearable for the parents. With all this technology, kids feel more alone than ever. They have all these virtural, superficial friends that they keep in touch with, but no one that they feel really cares for them or are true friends. Kids are so hyperaware of everything except for the fact that this will pass! High school will end and you'll move on with your life and that there is so much more out there. Its just so so sad to me.

I'm not excusing these kid's behaviors but from the article it seems that all the incidents involved a certain group of girls. There are plenty of reasons why that parent would say "you don't know the whole story".

It doesn't matter if she slept with them willingly or not if there is a law in place that states a certain aged boy (legal consent) can not have sex with a certain aged girl (under age of consent). That is called Statutory Rape.


Now here is there response to what I said:

A boyfriend and girlfriend under the age of consent having consentual sex is not the same crime as rape So for a poster to say that the boy was charged with rape is wrong and for a psoter to say that he is the only one at fault is wrong (if of course the girl was a willing participant, which I don't see anything that says she wasn't).

I think the response is questioning the legal term of statutory rape. You are right. Even if a girl is a willing participant, if she is of a certain age, or there is a certain age gap, legally, it is statutory rape. Its like those cases of teachers have sex with their students. The male students were willing, but under the legally defined age, so the teacher was convicted of statutory rape.

Rape to most people is about power. They think if both parties are willing, regardless of legal definitions, it is not rape. You can have the situation of it being consensual, yet still illegal.

some states even have definitions if both parties are under 18. It depends on the age difference. I think its 4 years for some states. So you can have a 17 year old and a 12 year old (ick) consensually having a sexual relationship, but the 17 year old can still be brought up on charges as defined by the law.

That is so true about the technology and yet feeling so alone. So sad. Everything feels like the end of the world when you are a teen. But Kitty is right, if they can just see past that moment things do get SO MUCH BETTER!!!
