I was one of those kids whose parents worked all the time and just couldn't keep on top of things. I imagine it must be hard for the Mom to call and ask if her child could come and if she could get a ride. There may be circumstances that prevent her from being more active and she could need some help. Anyway, it does present a problem for the birthday-mom, but the point is to enjoy and celebrate her child's day, and if one more child adds to that joy, then go ahead, find a way to make everyone be part of it.

It just seems like the mom is punishing the little girl. When we would have parties, I planned for a certain amount of kids. Hopefully they all RSVP'd but I would have never invited other kids to take their place. Things happen, you forget, whatever. And if they did forget to RSVP, there was always room in case they showed up anyway. Rude on the parents part but it had nothing to do with the child.

Part of the problem with the late rsvp was the mom also expected a pick up. I feel that's asking a lot of the parents giving the party. I can see both sides. You are punishing the kid but also putting the party givers on the spot. Wouldn't having a special day alone help? Glad I don't have kids to worry about.

Herr's Snack foods has tours but that's maybe an hour and a half from my house...really neat though.

I agree the guest's mom was wrong to ask for a ride after calling late but was it ever posted why the little girl's mom needed the ride for her? Without being a fly on the wall, we really don't know how it all went down.

Good morning ladies...another few inches of snow came last night, but right now its fairly sunny so I can't complain...and we're expected to get near 50 this weekend!

Sadly enough, I know how old Hello Kitty is...she's a year younger than me.

Come on, Naomi Campbell, if you expect to be treated well, you cannot keep acting like a spoiled brat! Vocalize, vocalize...you cannot resort to violence when dealing with employees. You don't beat down high profile designers and magazine editors, do you?

I slept like a log last night Kitty...but I didn't go to bed until after 12:30! I was chatting with my cousin about Kate and DWTS...she's having a dance studio built at her house for practice!
I thought Hello Kitty and our Kitty looked about the same age, judging by the pic in her siggie---of course Hello Kitty has more white hair!
