Caprica is on right now. I'm going to catch it in replay. I'm not ready to give up the Olympics just yet.

I'm kinda bummed for a silly reason. I was chosen for a new hometrial for ANTI-AGING MAKEUP! I still am shocked when I have to fill out forms and I see that number. But anti-aging? Come on now...

Oh, everytime that Office baby commercial comes on, I'm so happy. Jim Halpert on the show is my new fantasy husband. And BF knows it too.

Hee hee...that voice that announces "ready" for the short skate is so creepy!

I've been trying not to think of my birthday this year. I will officially be pushing 40. I know it's not "old" by any means but I sure am noticing the difference with things. Last night, I stayed up till 2am chatting with my brother and Aunt online. Today, I regretting doing that. I am so tired. Just a couple of years ago, I could do 4am, get up at 8am and be ready to go.

Now, I'm going to have to listen to his voice.

I hear ya about feeling my age. After Tuesday night, I was so glad the weather was terrible and I had to stay home. I was sluggish all day. Even caffeine didn't help much.

I remember the days when I wouldn't even be heading out until 11pm...now its my signal to head to bed. Ah, the sweetness of youth.

Wendy, Yay for everything going well with your dad. :woohoo: And you've never done breakfast for dinner? We do it every couple of weeks here. Everyone gets a job to do and the kids love it.

Oh yeah, we've done breakfast for dinner, but it's usually a bowl of cereal, or sometimes I'll make eggs. When I was little, my mom would make bacon and eggs for dinner when my Dad was not home, and we loved it.

In an act of desperation, Kitty prays to the tennis gods and heads outside to do battle with her satellite dish. This is in the name of Team USA hockey! She shoots, she scores! She bounces several tennis balls off the dish, knocks the snow off and promptly has snow dumped on her head. But victorious nonetheless!

(maybe all that snow had caused a minor concussion and has resulted in her referring to herself in the third person...)

I do believe you have lost your mind...:lmao:

We've been without power since 12:00AM! DH hooked up our generator once he got home from work (came home around noon) for a brief period to run the furnace, fridge and TV but we'll be going dark at 4PM and won't be back "on" till later this evening.

Still had school so we were able to be warm all day but it sucked having to go to work without a shower. Had to do a PTA (Pitts, Ts, and A).;) We did have hot water but there was no way to dry my hair. I'm hoping to get a shower tonight.

That's it for now. Not sure when I'll be able to get back on.

Have a good evening!

OMG poor you! I hope the power comes back on soon. How on earth did you have school? I assume they must have had power there...

We ended up with about 6.5 inches here at Dad's, and about 8 at home. The roads were clear by late morning, so I cleaned off my car (I am SO glad I have a garage at home and don't usually have to do that!) and drove home to pickup DD from her father's. She really wanted to come with me tonite. We stopped home to get the mail and a couple of other things we needed, and then headed back out. We made a quick WalMart run for stuff for my parents, and then came back here. It was so weird. It was snowing like crazy, and then we passed into the next town and it slowed considerably, and then the next town over the snow stopped and we had sunshine and blue skies! That continued all the way back here, and Mom said the snow had stopped right after I left this morning.:confused3

Now I hear we are supposed to get yet another storm Tuesday night into Wednesday!:scared1::scared1: Greaaaaat, and my elliptical is rescheduled to arrive Wednesday. Why do I get a sneaking suspicion it isn't gonna make it...?

Wendy, I've been ignoring those warnings about another storm next week. I have to drop my Dad off on Monday night and I'm praying the weather holds out until Wednesday!

Bite your tongue, Wendy, about another storm. I don't even want to hear the s-word for another 10 years at this point. And by that point, my butt better be living in FL. :rotfl2:

MK, you still here? What can you tell me about Apolo? Is he done skating after this? I've never really followed the winter Olympics before but I did know of him. He's so exciting to watch that I couldn't imagine not watching him ever again. Of course, his hotness could have something to do with that.

I'm here...yeah, tonight is his last night skating. He's already said that he's retiring after this too...sadness. He was robbed of that medal!

Hmm...what do I know about Apolo? His dad was given custody since he was little and he hasn't seen his mom since. This is his third Olympics. He won Dancing with the Stars. That's all I know really. He's kept really clean, don't hear anything bad about him. Oh, and he's a cutie!

Its so exciting how he hangs out in the back and then has this burst of energy to take over the front.

Awww, now I'm sad too. It stinks when you discover something so great but too late to really enjoy it. And I'm talking about his hotness....:lmao:

I knew about the Dancing with The Stars win. I may have to check out youtube for the videos since that is before we watched.

I guess he really caught my attention because he just looked so happy after every race even though he's been there before. He wasn't jaded or anything.

I totally agree! he genuinely loves the sport and to race. He puts his heart into everything and truly appreciates it all. Its wonderful to watch.

Good girl!!! No 40 is NOT old.

D&D, I "know" 40 isn't old but darn, some days, I feel older than dirt. I blame the kids. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

MK, you summed it up exactly. Just the joy on his face after every race. And I'm glad there's never been any scandal attached to him. Just makes me like him even more.

Oh booty...I just was about to post and completely lost everything. Basically, the sun is kinda out, the roads are open, and I was able to escape! Things are supposed to be relatively calm until the middle of next week, but I'll think about that later. Most importantly, Monday is supposed to be warmer so I should have no problem driving down to the city.

Getting ready for more Olympic coverage this afternoon. Curling, speedskating, cross country, snowboarding...it makes me happy.

I've managed to ignore most chores and I can't do it much longer. I have the Roomba going, so at least the floors are in good shape. Dishes are done, kitchen is ok, but laundry is OUT OF CONTROL. And I have to pay bills, but I can do that while watching the coverage...

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday and a great weekend ahead!

Morning! It's gotten windy here again. DH is working across the street and he's been in and out of the house all morning....waking me up. :headache: Doesn't he know by now that I need to sleep in so I can stay awake for the Olympic coverage tonight?

MK, glad you have gotten out. I am not checking the weather anymore. I don't want to know if there is anymore snow coming.

Good morning to you!

The power is back on! :woohoo:It came on about 3AM and I am so happy! Took a shower this morning and it was heaven.

Unfortunately my parents still have no power, they lost it the same time we did, so they will be coming over to use our shower at some point today.

I guess I started something when I brought up the cruise. Good! Kelsie from DU has put my request aside until the 2012 numbers are released so for now I'm keeping my fingers crossed that DU has awesome OBC for 2012 and then Disney Visa is offering one too.

No big plans for today. DH is doing chores and I suppose I should be doing something too. I'll have to think about a little more. ;)

I hope everyone has a good day and I'll stop by later.

Ok, why didnt I realize this before? What is OBC?

Congrats on the returned power, Pike. I bet that shower felt wonderful! How far do your parents live from you? Will they get power sometime today?

Lots of neighboring counties lost power, we were very fortunate not to have any losses other than for cable. I kept my sanity by catching up on DVDs and doing some dancing!

Will Ev ever come back here? Do I have to do some Hockey gold medal round smack talk on FB?

My parents just got their power back about an hour ago so they're allset now.

Magi, OBC stands for On Board Credit. Sometimes Travel Agents will give you $ for your account on the ship that you can use towards excursions or the spa, etc. Disney Visa has given $50 in the past if you pay for your entire trip with your card and if you book a Cat 11 with Dreams Unlimited you can get $75. The higher Cat of room gets you more; even upto $600! I've noticed that DCL will sometimes offer an OBC if you book by a certain time.
