Oh I don't like crashes that have serious injuries. :sad1: Poor Georgia team, it's going to be hard for them.
I did enjoy the ceremonies. Before they started they were showing pictures of Vancouver. I was pointing out the places we recognized from our trip. :cloud9:

I am so mad at myself! Why didn't I just go to Vancouver anyway? I may have gotten tickets....I had a place to stay with my family. Ugh...watching this opening just makes me miss it! I should be there!

You see BC place? My aunt's house is just up the street...ugh. I could just kick myself.

D'oh!!!! Poor Kitty! That really would have been a great experience.

Hi Magi!
I made a mistake about the truck race, he was watching last years but didn't know it. I guess it's raining in Daytona.
DH was pretty bummed about this too.

Was watching the ceremony yesterday and I guess I missed a lot here and on FB. Oh well!!! I just loved that virtual skiing & snowboarding thing with the giant sheet  (as I call it) and the lights!!!! Now THAT WAS COOL!!!:thumbsup2
Felt so bad for the Georgia athletes.:sad1: What a horrible tragedy.
We always cheer for Bulgaria when they walk in. DS11 likes to see his native land. :yay:

DH surprized me last night and brought home

. One cute Valentine bouquet and one rose bouquet to celebrate the anniversary of the day we met - 25 years ago Tues. Was so touched. We usually don't do much for VD except maybe go out to eat and exchange cards. Think I'll keep him

Afternoon ladies...

Ventured to the pharmacy today to exchange some items and it was a MADHOUSE! Seems a lot of people left VD to the last minute...the shelves were empty, but quickly being replaced with happy Easter stuff. Hey, candy is candy to me.

So I've been wearing a pedometer...the recommended day is 10,000 steps. I won't even tell you how NOT CLOSE to 10K I am. Now I'm getting competitive about it...I'm going to try to beat my personal best (or worst, as the case may be).

Yeah the ski jump is on! Granted, I don't understand much about it, only there's a lot of physics involved. Its one of those sports that looks really cool, but I think is rooted a bit in insanity. Let's just shoot ourselves off a ramp!

I'm a bit miffed that the Olympics official lied about Wayne Gretzky lighting the torch. And who knew that Donal Sutherland was Canadian too? I love k.d. Lang's voice. Her rendition of "Hallelujah" was gorgeous.

So Wayne DID light the torch? I went to bed right after k.d.lang--she was good. WAAAAAY better than "We Are the World"!!:lmao:

So sad about the luge guy. Hate to see something like that happen.

D&D, we always root for Russia (after the USA, of course) for the same reason!

Spending the day with just DD, since DS is with the ex. Very quiet and peaceful around here, and we had fun grocery shopping together. She has a swim team bowling party at 5, so she's taking a nap to store up some energy!:rotfl2:

I had the kids to the doctor this AM for their camp/sports physicals. I think DD has officially maxed out at 4'10", since she's been the same for over 2 years. Also her shoe size has been a 3 for 3 years. She did finally crack the 100# mark at a muscular 102#. DS grew an inch, to 4'6", but still weighs 68#. He is so far off the charts it's not funny. But we did track his height up at the current level, and it said he would be 5'4" as an adult, which is just what the endocrinologist said. So he'll be as tall as me. The doctor told him he needs to eat more, and a better diet. Gee, wonder where he's heard that before...:rotfl:

Wendy, I am so glad that I'm not the only one who thought the new We Are the World wasn't that great....while I applaud their effort, the song itself didn't really do it for me...

Are you going bowling too?

Even if the kids aren't going to be super-tall (which if overrated anyway), they are still gorgeous!

I just got the Mickey Monitor in the mail...its the newsletter for AP holders. When I went to go check my AP, I totally forgot that I have a one day pass from my last trip! Woo-hoo! Of course, it just makes it more bittersweet that I don't have a trip planned....

HI LITC!

A luge competitor from the country of Georgia was doing a training run and he lost control in the last turn. He flew off his sled and the track and crashed into a light pole. His injuries were to great to bring him back.

It is such a sad way to start the Olympics.

Thanks for letting me know. How terrible for the teammates, and the family.

That is awesome that your kids have a unique way their heritage. I think that is just great!

In case I dont get back on.. everyone have a wonderful Valentine's Day.

Has anyone heard anything about more snow coming? I looked at our weather report and it's saying maybe a little on Monday night. But my brother was told another 4-6 inches. Someone please tell me that is wrong.

We're supposed to get some snow late Tues/early Wed. They're calling for only 1-3 inches though. But if its been like the last two storms, JOCA, you may get more than me.

I thought M&N was saying the other day that there may be more snow...

Hi LITC! Sorry I missed you....

I was just talking to Disney54us and she said we (me) could be in for another 6-12 depending on how the storm tracks. It sounds like we would be in the middle of the worst of it. Just great.

DH has worked everyday this week shoveling snow. He's even working tomorrow. :sad2: On race day. And it's VD. The overtime is nice but it still sucks.

Oh geez, JOCA. I'm so sorry! Wow, DH's boss is just a meanie.

Apparently, Father Winter is a meanie too. That's just crazy totals!

how's Disney54us been?

Meanie isn't the word I would use to describe DH's boss :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

It's been local jobs so it hasn't been super bad. Tomorrow he's suppose to only do one and it's about 15 minutes from here.

She's doing good. She's Olympics crazy too.

Good evening!

DH is watching the Truck Race that was postponed from yesterday so I'm here on the computer looking up reviews on the ghost tours in Gettysburg.

I've found 2 so far that have good reviews but I'm going to keep looking.

I like letting you plan our vacation Pikester....I totally trust whichever tour you think is best.

I'm watching the mogul run. What a strange sport. But I can see how it could be fun. Once your knees got over the beating!

Apolo is going to do so well tonight!

I haven't been able to watch yet tonight. DH and DD13 are watching some stupid horror movie. It better be over soon!

Farnsworth House and Ghost of Gettysburg.

Of course I've read some not so good reviews of them too so I guess you just pick one and do it.

Oh and DH said he would do something with the boys that night while I went with one of my friends to look for ghosts. :goodvibes

Evening Ladies!

Got my strawberry Baileys and I am ready for some chatting.
