USA! USA! USA! (I swear, I put it in all caps, but the Dis won't let me)

Let me try again....USA! USA! USA!

(ah, there it goes...)

I waited until tomorrow to go to Mom's. Wanted to give her alley time to melt some...more cars go down it will flatten it out more. The top part is better because those people cleaned it but the botton isn't as good. Pat can make it though.

I cried when that country walked in...it's got to be so hard to carry on.

Mom called and asked who was ahead in the truck race...I said it's not on...she said she flipped back and forth and it was on...I said---yeah, last year's! She was disappointed because Kyle was down in like 18th place and she was glad about that...:lmao:

You should have gone Kitty and just soaked up the atmosphere. But you may not have gotten out there with all the snow. Those skaters had a tough time and they should have been able to pull some strings.

I teared up too when Georgia came in...can you imagine those competing tomorrow in the luge? The mental fortitude alone....God bless them all.

My heart just aches for the other athletes of Georgia.

I am liking the ceremony so far.

You just leave Kyle out of any conversation. :rotfl:

It's a free country!

I'm glad they're recognizing some of Canada's other cultural heritages aside from the First Nations.

I just love Both Sides Now! The special effects were neat too...never saw someone fly with that kind of wire think so he could twist.

I was amazed by how smooth the whole thing was. Most times when I see performances like that, they seem so jerky while in air.

That's what is keeping me awake!
Gotta sign off and brush teeth and get to bed...can't sleep in tomorrow.

Enjoy the Olympics this weekend...AND the races.....

Boards are going down soon.

Have a nice weekend. I hope Jr only blows his motor and doesn't wreck. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I had heard rumors of a hologram of Terry Fox running the torch in with his mom actually lighting it. But I see she helped carry the flag in.

Now I can only think of Gretsky doing it.

Oh, let me tell! Years ago, Dr. Phil had this family on. There were two daughters, the older one, Alex was 15 and pregnant. She didn't know if she wanted to keep the baby or give it up for adoption. So that was the initial issue with the family.

Since then, Alexandra had her little boy, got married to a guy, had a little girl, he went to jail, allegedly beat her up, and has gotten divorced. She had a new boyfriend, one who claimed that Alex's sister, Catherine, has been spending time with. The sisters HATE each other and are overall terrible to their parents. The father, Marty, has anger issues, and the mother had an affair.

Its a huge mess and despite the attention and aid of Dr Phil and his staff, they are just getting more and more insane.

Dr. Phil has two sons...the older one has written books and married a Playboy playmate. I don't know much about the younger one.

Wow sounds more like a "case" that should be on Maury than Dr. Phil. I thought he wanted to help people. Crazy. :lmao:

Thanks for the info Kitty, I was pretty confused!

WINTER POEM

It's winter in Pennsylvania

And the gentle breezes blow

Seventy miles an hour

At five below.

Oh, how I love Pennsylvania

When the snow's up to your butt

You take a breath of winter

And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes,

The weather here is wonderful

So I guess I'll hang around

I could never leave Pennsylvania

Cuz I'm frozen to the ground!

The cartoon with it would not copy to put here but it's a dog lifting his leg at a fire hydrant...man says 'And I thought getting your tongue stuck to a flagpole was bad.'

Hey, I've seen that one here but with Ohio in the poem. How funny!

Hi Pike! Guess what I'm doing? I'm torturing BF by making him watch the Olympics and listen to my inane commentary. I have to cheer extra loud for those countries that only have one delegate. I figure they need the support....

No racing here. We are watching the opening ceremonies too.

I always root for those countries that only have one athlete to represent them.

That is awesome of you guys. I always wonder if they feel really really scared being "alone" when the others have friends/teammates for support.

(Is anyone else having an issue with multi-quote??)

Wait, what happened to someone from GA? Walter doesn't really allow me to catch much these days.

HI LITC!

A luge competitor from the country of Georgia was doing a training run and he lost control in the last turn. He flew off his sled and the track and crashed into a light pole. His injuries were to great to bring him back.

It is such a sad way to start the Olympics.
