I spoke too soon. It's coming down good right now. I'll feel very lucky if we don't get more than they are predicting.

DH's older brother had a heart attack this evening. Thankfully, he got taken care of right away. He only had 5% damage. They found some problems they are going to be able to fix so hopefully it won't be happening again. They put a stint in today and will probably go back and put in 2 more over the next several months.

I went to the doctor Wed. Apparently I strained my back AGAIN. Fixed me up with some new muscle relaxers. Now if I could just get this darn headache to go away! Worked all day cleaning house cause we were supposed to have company. They ended up having to cancel. Oh well, at least my house looks good!

Overall, not a bad week. I got compliments from 2 of our kids and an insult from only one. 2 out of 3 ain't bad!

Good Saturday morning ladies...how is everyone spending their Saturday? Not shovelling, I hope!

Marie...I am so sorry to hear about Dh's brother's health. Thank goodness they caught it early and are treating him properly. And your poor back! You need to be careful with back injuries...too often we don't let them heal properly and it becomes an ongoing issue. With a headache too! I declare a snow day for you...rest and just work on feeling better and maybe some stationary activities....

We didn't get any of the snow from the nor'easter, but it sure looks like its going to come down. Its that weird grey overcast outside which puts my brain on automatic pilot, which is never good...

Anyone having Superbowl festivities tomorrow?

I'm working on my Olympic watching schedule....

:grouphug: Good morning to all of you lovely ladies.

To whom it may concern. Would you do me a favor? Please send me all the "SNOW" that you have. DH is whining so bad I can't think straight.

Sukie, I'll gladly give you all the white stuff we have. I'm tired of it!

We channel is airing a special about Disney Dream Weddings. While absolutely breathtaking, I think I'm too old to think I'll have a fairytale wedding. I just can't justify spending that much money for an event. Although I would love to get married at Disney...I was never one of those little girls who dreamed about her wedding (like the girls on the show are claiming).

OMG...30k for an 80 person wedding at Disney...is that how much weddings really cost? Ok, I'll say it...I'm too cheap for that! That's house payments!

Good morning!!! Well, all the snow came overnight. It has stopped now but the winds are something fierce out there. Even though the roads look pretty clear, we'll still be staying in all day.

Marie, prayers to your DH's brother. And thank goodness it sounds like the doctors will get him all fixed up too. Now you better take it easy. Tell your family that your tker friends that you need some rest and relaxation and they need to wait on your hand and foot for a while.

Sukie, you can have all the snow from us that you want. If I could find a way to send it to you, believe me, I would. Down to the very last snowflake.

MK, aren't those Disney weddings incredible? So, so beautiful and so, so expensive. I never dreamed about a fancy wedding either, we got married at the JP, but sometimes I do think of having a vow renewal. I've looked at the prices to do it at Disney but I can't even justify the cost of one of them.

Sukie, I am so sorry you are having to deal with your husband wanting snow. I think maybe HE IS NUTS...lolololol. I am just kidding...:dance3:

Marie, I am so sorry to hear about the illness.

Good afternoon!

Marie,.

Magi, I've seen Disney Dream Weddings before and I had the same thoughts of how expensive they must be and there is no way I would have spent that much on one. I can't remember what my wedding cost but it was just a little drop in the bucket compared to what many others have spent. I've watched Say Yes to the Dress before and I think some of those brides have spent more on a dress then I did on my wedding.

Jo, glad to see you made it through the storm. I watched a little bit of Good Morning America and they were showing pictures from DC and saying that the city was a ghost town.

Sukie, In case you are reading this and wondering why I haven't called you back yet it's because when you left your message I was getting ready for the day. By the time I finally noticed the blinking light on the machine I realized I didn't have enough time to eat, call you back and then take DS8 to get his hair cut. I'll give you call back later when I get home.

I would like to comment on last nights discussion of weather and living some where else. I love NH but I'm not a big fan of Winter. I've told people that before and they look at me like I have two heads. How can you live here and not like Winter? Hey, I'd rather live here and get Winter for a few months then deal with earthquakes, mudslides, wild fires, tornados, hurricanes and posionous creatures. I'm not saying that we never get those, it just doesn't happen with any regularity.

I got up to lots of snow....cant watch tv, satellite is not working..guess DH has to get dressed and clean it, and he will if he knows what is good for him lolol. I havent been able to watch the news since last night. I had a bottle of wine and it almost made me get dressed and climb to clean it, thank god I realized it wasnt my job:rotfl:

I got out of bed and found myself to be out of coffee, I have to HAVE COFFEE!!!! BUT, I went nuts and found some from a hotel that DH put in a container...(he takes every little gift the hotel leaves you...thank goodness.lol) now that I have my coffee................all is well in the Martin house.:woohoo:

I think the only thing we haven't had to deal with are mudslides. Last year, we had a tornado here and I think it was also last year, that an earthquake also hit close to here. Hurricanes can pick up steam again along the eastern seaboard and hit up here too. We have poisonous spiders and snakes that we have to watch out for. Add in the high wind warnings that we get regularly and the fact that we usually have drought warnings all summer which ups the chances for wildfires. It's real interesting living here.

Which makes me think that I'd rather take my chances with the hurricanes, wildfires and strange creatures down south. Heat never bothers me but I can't take the cold at all. 50* is too cold for me.

I just need an island to live on...lolol

Hey all just trying to catch up here. You'll have been chaty!!

just talked to DH...We are gonna join you guys...:)

SERIOUSLY????? That will be awesome

Evening ladies....sorry for all of you south of me that are expecting lots of snow tomorrow. Hope you're all prepared and that you won't get nearly as much snow as they are predicting.

mkgaapril...I think you have all of us in a tizzy. Are you really going to try and join us at Hershey in June? That would be so awesome and just the idea that you heard about it and decided to come is just so cool.

Ok, there HAS to be enough of us to qualify for a block of rooms at the Mainstay...remind me to call sometime next week and inquire. At the very least, we should be placed near each other!

I know y'all are excited for race season to start...but I'm getting excited for the Olympics!

OH, forget Hershey the hotel will never be the same! :rotfl:
We could have a whole floor to ourselves!!

Hello!!! The s**w is heading this way. I think they are saying 6-12 inches. I'm hoping that it holds off long enough tomorrow so I can run to the grocery store. I'm going to make a big pot of stuffed peppers and cabbage for the weekend. Nice comfort food while we are stuck in the house.

When do the Olympics start?

Sounds delish, can we come over?

4,000!

YEAH!

I posted a lot of snow smilies on the bump thread to make it today!!!

Awesome work M&N!

Good Morning everyone!
Another sunny day today. :)
Mariezp  for your BIL. Hope he recovers quickly.
Mkgaapril Have you narrowed down your choices for vacation yet? :surfweb:

I prefer earthquakes. Seldom damaging and over quickly. Rode out the Northridge earthquake (outskirts) only lost a few things and electricity for 8 hours. Wildfires in So Cal usually only affect the rich who insist on building out in the hills. Tornadoes are over quickly but much more damaging if you're unlucky. :scared1: Don't want to sit around waiting to see if a hurricane is coming nor waiting until it's over. :scared1:

Oh and D&D, whenever I see "Happy VD" in your siggie I don't think Valentine's Day.

Marie, so sorry to hear about the health scare, hope recovery comes quickly and easily. Hope you are feeling better to. My back has been hurting terribly, probably from holding Walter.

Whatcha holing for Kitty?

I'm trying to register my Dad's info for AARP. I'd much rather have him be billed automatically rather than having to send a payment every month. They are not working well with me though. I hung up already. I'll try on Monday. Maybe its a skeletal staff working today.

LITC - :lovestruc Such a cute picture!!!! LOVE IT!!! I tickled his chin.

Eastern TKers - Hope you're all okay with all that snow. Saw a posting from Lighttech on FB and she has to work both today and yesterday. I guess they put her up in a near-by hotel. She is essential to the show you know. She is worried about finally going home and having to DIG her car out. Poor girl! You all stay home and stay safe.

I have decided that there is no 1 place I want to live year-round. I want to do 6 mo down south and 6 mo. here. The summers are PERFECT here in WI. Not too hot and not too cool. We get tornados, but you learn how to plan for them and deal with it. There aren't any strange critters to look out for and after traveling by car to other parts of the country, I still think we have the BEST scenery. Now the winters are long, cold and snowy. Except for this year when it has been much more tolerable.

Qualifying has begun for Daytona

. DH is glued to the set. Then tonigh is the 1st race and the beginning of HOLY WEEK in our house.
