JO, my oldest DD was getting into the snowboarding tonight too. We watched some of the olympics earlier today and she was recounting everything to DH this evening. Now she wants to do either archery, skiing, or ice skating. Given that we live in Texas, I think she probably needs to go with archery.

Do you have any indoor ice rinks there? We have an olympic skaing one here and it is very popular with all the young girls. Especially after the olympics.

About 35 miles away. Last year, she was in public school still and her teacher's daughter had ice skating classes and competitions. DD just got inline skates for Christmas and that coupled with the Olympics probably has her dreaming. Maybe there's a homeschool ice skating class she could try out. I should look into that, at least let her try it out.

I'm back....Evan got the gold without the quad. Johnny weir didn't do too bad either. He just doesn't have the technical points to get up there.

Jumping in real quick too...Johnny Weir was robbed! He did a great skate, far cleaner than others who were given more points. And that skater who had to stop and fix his laces! What resolution he had...how scary.

I'm glad Evan won!

They are going to talk about the skating after local news. I think Peggy Flemming felt Johnny's program was too easy. He did skate a clean program. I hate it when they blow something they always get right. Now, if they blow the quads, I don't care. I think that fast should be disallowed! You could screw yourself into the ice with that thing!

And speaking of fashion...why did so many men wear gloves? Even is short program...

Oh Wendy...why can't all the drs be smart enough to help? There's got to be a kidney out there...

I'm still here but barely. Been trying to work on vacation plans with D&D.

Someone somewhere posted about Shawn White doing air guitar of the national anthem. Did any of you see it? I tried to find a clip of it but couldn't.

I showed DD13 some clips on Scott Hamilton skating tonight. She was totally amazed to see his back flip....just the same way I was the first time I saw it.

Morning ladies! Brr! The winds are crazy today.

I saw the clip of Shaun White. It was only a few seconds, but adorable nonetheless. You know I have a soft spot for redheads. Is he done for the games?

Yeah, there was a story on how Vera Wang worked with Evan on his outfit. She used to be a figure skater too. When he was waiting for his scores, you could hear him say "thank you Vera". I like them working together, supporting the sport. But really, for a world-renown designer, I was not impressed.

Maybe the gloves were coz they were falling a lot? bracing themselves?

I thought the ice looked slushy last night. You know when ice is frozen solid and it get that clarity to it? It wasn't there last night...

Good Morning

Weather is finally nice. Temps upper 30s and sunny. Things are thawing a little and I actually got the van washed. Almost forgot what color it was

Was at the grocery store this morning and was shocked to have to pay $7 for a 24pk of TP. Its' not even a name brand or ultra plush or anything. Good gravy... Probably cheapter to wipe my ace with the Wall Street Journal.
