Happy Birthday America! And Happy 4th to all my lovely ladies and their loved ones on this great holiday. We're having wonderful weather and I"m looking forward to the celebrations later tonight. Right now, I'm re-watching the America Story of Us marathon on History channel. Go America!

The Nathan's Hot Dog contest will be on at noon here on ESPN. I'll be cheering on lighttech's DH!

So I met my friend for lunch. We've been friends since high school. She's half Korean, and her husband is mixed race too, and their little boy is practically white! She says she and her husband look at him and are just like "is this our kid?", which is so funny. He's really light skinned and has blond curls. Little Cole was born with some heart issues, and although he's small for his age, he seems to be wonderful otherwise. Such joy to be with them.

Happy 4th Everyone!!!

My mom has been staying w/ us for a few days to enjoy some of the festivities so I cannot always get at the computer as she stays in the spare room. Last night we went to the fireworks and today we are having a bbq at home and trying to get the new pool set up for the kids. It is now very hot and humid here so the pool came in the nick of time. Now we'll have to go search for a patio set so we can sit outside. Funny how all the summer stuff is now on clearance and Back to School is starting to creep out there.

EV - the race in MI is Sunday Aug 15th. We're looking at general admission seats which are $25 and kids 12 and under are free.

Anyone else going to be in the MI area in Aug?????

I did not get to see Lighttech's Dh on the Hot Dog eating contest, but hope to catch some pics on line.

Update on the Toy Drive - It has morphed into a gift basket drive. Each family affected by the tornado is making a list of some things they lost and we are putting together baskets with items like toys, towels, sheets, household goods etc.stuff that insurance can't always replace. Once it is more established, I can grab a list or two and post what is needed. If anyone is interested in buying some of the items and sending them here, I'd put the basket together and attach all your names to it. (i.e. With love from PA, NH, OH, NM, NY, etc)

Hi everyone!!! Hope things haven't changed too much since I've been away. Its been so hard to keep up with the thread lately due to so much going on with work and preparing for school and what not, feels like its happening so quickly. But what're you gonna do!!?? in the process of planning out Ben and I's vacay to the World in December. We decided to go the day after christmas and be there for New Years!!! Extremely excited as we'll be going down for New Years and what not!!! Should be a bunch of fun!

Mere...that's wonderful news about an upcoming trip! December is definitely my favorite time of year to go. Its just gorgeous and so special.

I don't think the Tag Fairy comes here though...we've had some really good zingers and convos and someone should have gotten tagged! I had to venture off-thread to get mine, and even then it was at a suggestion of another TKer. But there's always hope--I'll cross my fingers that you find her!
