I'm marveling at your TK theme park. I'm sure it's the closest I'll be to a roller coaster for awhile. And, no, I'm not a Flat TKer, no roller coasters for me. But, thats ok, I'd probably feel sick for my flat self.

Hey everybody!!! Just posted over on FB, and Eve suggested I check in here...

MK - I need help on NY hotels! I hear you are our resident expert, so I figured I'd give you a shout.

So, for those of you who were following, DH qualified for going to Coney Island for the Nathan's contest again this year. (My husband and his weird hobbies. lol.) They will probably put us up in a hotel for Saturday night and Sunday night. Last year we stayed an extra night, and just put up w/ the price on the fancy hotel, but prices have gone up so much this year, that we thought we might bargain hunt and look for a new hotel for the third night if we stay.

Or, we might actually look for something to do that's fun between NYC and home (SouthEast PA) and drive part way Monday night, stay over and then hang out on Tuesday.

So, I'm looking for good hotel deals in NYC if we go that route, or I'm looking for good family fun in the surrounding area or between NYC and SE PA if we decide to travel instead.

Any thoughts?

For all you Hershey go-ers, I just caught this on a thread about Hershey, and thought it was pretty interesting. All my years in PA, and I never heard this.

"A little hint- if you go to the park the evening before and either purchase or show them your next day's pass they will allow you to preview the park for a few hours that night. This is a good way to get some extra time in the park without buying a 2 day pass. "

We plan on doing that lighttech! DH saw that a while back and so we will be going Monday night, Tuesday, Wednesday night (him and the kids) and then on Thursday. Phew, should get our fill of Hershey by doing that!

That's awesome! I'm just still floored I never knew. Problem is we're too far to drive out one night, play, drive back and then drive out again in the morning, but kind of too close to justify a hotel. So, I doubt we'll ever use it, but I still think its cool!

Hello to all the lurkers and the rest of the gang!!

Spent the day putting mulch around the landscaping and getting some packing in. Turns out we're going to the WI Dells when I return home. Probably do some camping for a couple of days. Doesn't give me much time to pack and repack. Luckily DH is pretty good at that and should have things taken care of (mostly) by the time I return.

Wish all those dads out there a Happy Father's Day tomorrow.

lighttech...I have an expedia coupon for $25 off a two-night stay, but it has to be used before July 31. That may help a little bit.

I'm not sure where you'd like to stay....but I'd first go to Kayak.com and their deals section and see what hotel deals they have. They often have deals I haven't seen on other websites.

I'll have to think about the ages of your boys and what would be cool for them to see/do....have you thought of someplace you'd like to go?

Good Morning everyone,

I am just kinda taking it easy today. I spent yesterday cleaning up
and getting the house straight. DH said he plans on watching golf all day...ewww ha ha. I plan on hanging out on the DIS. I have my laptop hooked up to the big screen TV right now ha ha. I figured it would be fun to Dis in MEGA. Actually, it is still hooked up from last night. I watched Pretty Little Liars on Hulu. Wow that is going to be a good show. Me and DD watched both episodest with "limited interruptions"

So three days till Hershey??? Is everyone getting excited? I so wish I were going. Oh well, make sure my "flat self" has a good time, will ya?
