I know someone who is working at the funnel cake place! Her grandma is the friend who had the stroke. I had her mom in school...she was at my school for a year too! Turned 16 this week! She's also cutting my grass...her stepdad does my yard work.
Gotta eat my salad...hope we don't get too bad of a storm tonight. Still sunny---and hot! At least it will cool it off for tomorrow.

Well, still no storms here. Thundering like all heck though.

DH is finally on his way home after waiting over 4 hours for them to bring him another vehicle. He was ready to leave at 3pm but when he went out to the truck, there was a big puddle of power steering fluid under it. These hours he's gone is getting really old.

M&N, does that mean she'll give us free funnel cake???

We had a short, pretty intense storm here.

Well, if not free funnel cake, at least extra sprinkled sugar!

My allergies have been bugging me all day. My left orbital sinus in particular is just full and putting pressure on my head. I've taken sudafed and am pretty much useless right now.

EV---sounds like a wonderful room---tv in bathroom! Have you seen a Cirque show before? I loved the one at DD.

Saw one years ago in Toronto when Cirque travelled with a big top...can't even remember the name of it...Mystere was fantastic, it's all the kids have talked about...especially since DH had a bucket of popcorn dump on his head by the clown.

Can't wait to hear more about it. Especially for families. My mom was there a few weeks ago and said there's someone passing out porn on every street corner. - YIKES!!!

We walked the strip all the way from Excalibur to Treasure Island...took about 4 hours...and although they were handing stuff out at every corner not one person approached me because I was walking with DD. I have to say they were very respectful of the fact that I had a child with me.

There is one good thing about all these hours for the past few days.....he called his boss and said he's taking Saturday off.

Sudafed is pretty good medicine. I only take it when things are at their worst but it always helps a lot.

my affair of the watermelon continues! Yum. there were some cherries at the grocer too, but its crazy expensive. settled for some grapes.

its gotten dark and ominous here too. we're under severe storm watch until 9pm. I hope we don't get some of that hail that Denver got yesterday--baseball sized and over six inches of it!

Did anyone see the story of the lady who fell asleep on the plane and was left behind only to be found 4 hours later by the cleaning crew? She was flying from DC to Philly. I've been on those little flights and the only way she slept like that was if she was under the influence of something...those planes are small and loud! Of course, she's suing for emotional damages. She should be sued for being an idiot. If you slept and were left behind, sorry. You're a grown up. get out the cell phone and call for help. really now!

ITA!!! And how the heck is the airline supposed to know if she was faking it or not? Geeze!

Okay, back to catching up now haha. Then I am going to go take my bath.

Morning...checking in also. Already 70s, going up to 80s. Summer really came with a bang! Its going to be a good holiday weekend too....except for all the tourists who can't drive on our country roads!

Pepper...did you make any ADRs last night? I don't even know where Tonys is...but I'd love to hear what you think of it! All your ADRs so far are places I haven't eaten at, so it'll be good to hear what you think of them.

JO...its supposed to be a 3 day weekend for DH!

No, we are being so picky we are going to end up having a lot of openings. Oh well there is always beaches, and places that don't take ADR's. This is what I get for letting DD pick the last one...uggg ha ha.

I am looking forward to Chef de France though. The mac and cheese...YUM!

I'm dripping wet...just watered the bushes. I had a call from the wife of the guy who does my yard, reminding me I must water them! They are friends so it was OK! I tried taking the hose out and it does reach good enough. My problem is rewinding it! That's how I got so hot. My connection in the garage drips too...maybe he can fix it...

It's only 78 now! But as JO said---calling for possible tstorms this pm! If it cools it off, I'm ok with that. Mom broke diown and put on her ac. she lives in a 3 story townhouse in the city and her bedrooms get very warm so I thanked her!

I like summer Pepper but not this hot and humid! I guess it's the wasted elevtricity for the ac I resent more! Higher bills are not needed. At least Patrick's nourishment has gone down to 2.63 a gallon.

I'm waiting for those little blueberries to get ripe...when is that? I thought the end of June? I finished my frozen ones from last year. Grapes aren't that cheap here. I could go for cherries too. (Although I prefer mine chocolate covered!)

It takes me 2 hrs from here to dc...I would have thought I was closer to dc than Philly??? But then---different driver??

I guess we need to figure out how to make some easy money by sleeping...How could they not see her in a little plane?

I think my allergies affect my ears...they keep going fuzzy om me. They were acting funny when I got up but have been worse since I are outside for lunch!

Had some thunder and lightning but the worse of the storms were east or west of me. Looked like Lancaster had a red blob go through it. I was reading in bed and the fan was heavenly...hot right now so I guess I'll get off. I have my early breakfast tomorrow too.

Afternoon! Well, we are back to cold weather. It's a whole 66 here right now. We didn't get any storms either. They all seemed to split around us.

DH is on his way home. He's going to get a 31/2 day weekend. DD14 is going to a concert tonight. It's at a local arts/crafts/music festival close to here. Her friend's mom is going to take them and stay for a couple of hours and before she leaves, we are going to head up there. DH and I don't want the kids there without a parent at least nearby.

Afternoon ladies...its overcast and considerably colder than yesterday. But the weekend is supposed to be nice.

I ventured out to the store today. Figured I'd get all my errands done before the vacationers arrived. It was already pretty hectic out there!

I had a cappuccino last night and boy did I pay for it. Up at 3:30 and could not get back to sleep AND had some heartburn. A few antacids took care of my discomfort, but still could not sleep. Just gave in and read for a few hours. Haven't crashed yet, but should sometime soon.

JO, congrats on DH's weekend! You guys are so good to show up later tonight at the concert...I don't blame you one bit for being hyper-aware. Its the holiday weekend, I'm sure there'll be some stupid people out there....

We always have the boating accidents around here. Why on earth would you get out on the boat drunk? There have been some sad accidents in recent years. Don't they have a designated sailor or something?

I'll explain. Yesterday, both M&N and I had a pirate drinking from a blue cup in our siggies. Originally, it was a large Mickey balloon "borrowed" from Kimmar's siggie. Grumpy Pirate kindly shrunk it down so it wouldn't take up so much room. There was a bit of an argument on where the balloon came from. GP decided to prove the balloon was from him and for several hours yesterday, he changed the balloon to a pirate drinking. After proving his point, he changed it back. Since D&D and M&N both got the balloon from me, I figured I should explain the pirate. If you didn't see it, I'm sure I looked like a nut. Sorry, JO, I know you wanted a nut free zone.

I felt absolutely terrible yesterday and didn't make it back on to better explain myself. Sorry.
