Good morning ladies! It started out sunny, but has quickly clouded over. But is humid here too, as evidenced by the size of my hair!

I've been in a tizzy over Lost. I, in fact, enjoyed it very much. But I think you kinda have a mystical bend to you, an openmindedness. BF was not nearly so satisfied, and kinda had enough of my tearing up all the time. I'm glad I watched it though.

Marie, congrats on DD's birthday celebration and the guinea pigs! Does she love it? Do you?

Bopsmom, if I were closer, I would totally take sewing lessons with you. I'm absolutely terrified of the sewing machine and have yet to sew a button on anything! I'm a big fan of glue.

Kitty---the HP concerts are Sun pm. But they have new shows in the theaters. I didn't see any yet but a friend says they are good.

Update...
Was to the Dr. She thinks it might be acid reflux which seems crazy to me since I don't have any heartburn or sourness to speak of. She gave me some Rx acid tabs and I will give it a try. Couldn't get in for an ultrasound til Thurs. which is stupid. So this stuff had better give me some relief. Told them I can't go on feeling so uncomfortable too much longer. Ugh!

On the flip side, if it does turn out to be acid related it will be a lot easier to "fix" than something surgical. That part would make me happy. I just can't wrap my mind around acid causing this much pain and discomfort w/o heartburn symptoms or that the Tums and Pepto not giving me any relief.

Kitty - just wanted to say that I did get a chance to watch LOST last night with my DH. I started watching it from day 1 but stopped about 1 year ago cuz it got to Sci-fi for me. DH has been an avid viewer. So since I was just sitting on the couch last night anyway, I decided to watch with him.

I thought the ending was kinda neat. I am facinated with the whole "what happens when we die" stuff any way, so this sparked my interest. I actually like the way they ended it.

See....that's what I was thinking. How can it bother my stomach so much but not bother my esophagus??? Can acid really do this?

Hey D! How are you feeling? Did you take the meds yet? Did it help?

Once I became "of a certain age", antacids became my best friend. Mine is a burning up through my chest. Antacids give me immediate relief. My favorite is something called Protonix. Its a miracle pill.

But I'm with you. If it is GERD, its entirely manageable, which would be awesome. I guess our hotel room better bring a big tub of antacids!

I think Lost was definitely more chick-friendly....all the warm fuzzy feelings. But I liked the sense of closure, and that no matter what we do or go through, we'll be surrounded by those who mean the most to us. What do you (and Dh) think happened to Ben?

Your stomach makes acid...but if there's a problem with the lining of your stomach (an ulcer), you're feel the burning in your stomach. Reflux is the sphincter that keeps the contents of your stomach separate from the esophagus isn't working properly, so the acid goes up where its not supposed to. Think of when your toilet is backed up...what's supposed to go down comes up.

There are also two different types of ulcer, depending on location: duodenal vs. gastric. They're the same issue, but where they're located will demonstrate different symptoms...mostly related to timing with eating.

Regardless, we'll figure out what's going on and handle it accordingly. I just hope that your pain is manageable until we get those answers...

Wednesday, MIL and FIL are coming over so we can discuss the situation. It should be interesting to say the least. I'm just hoping that they don't think it's going to be like last time.

D&D, I've never had heartburn last more than a couple of hours. It just sounds so odd that they are saying that is what this is. I hope you get answers soon. And call if you need anything.

M&N, I thought Kyle was being a baby with the Denny Hamlin thing. Denny wasn't trying to wreck him and it was late in the race. Every man for himself. But it was nice to see the Kyle of old.

I guess he's not changed as much as I thought...guess he got another lecture from Gibbs! I was so glad Kurt beat him...Kurt gets overlooked. Now he gets bragging rights! Plus Kyle's gf won't get her new shoes!

M&N, you have a few more days before the guinea pig pics. I tried without a flash but they didn't come out well. The little girls are still a bit skittish so DD doesn't want me using the flash on them just yet. She's afraid it will scare them. Like we haven't already traumatized them enough picking them up every few hours.


Finished uploading pics from our zoo trip yesterday so I thought I would share some of those.

The birds were being pretty cooperative and posing for me.

Just about the only place you can find these guys anymore is in the zoo exhibit.

I tried to get the red eye out and ended up with evil glowing eyes. Wouldn't want him chasing me!

Evidently we always come during shedding season. Bet he's a good looking fellow when he's all tidied up.

Don't recall what these were but they have the funniest looking necks!

This was one disgusting cat! He was pacing back and forth in the cage and right when he got close and almost in a perfect pose he turned around and sprayed the window right in front of me!

These guys were just babies last time we were at the zoo.

The almost birthday girl. Can hardly believe she is going to be 10.

Gonna have to teach her to pay attention to where she sits next time!

Emma loves the carousel but I have to admit after Disney I have become a carousel snob. And, it's not just rides. A trip to the restrooms at the zoo was another reminder me of what a fabulous job they do at Disney.

I really like this one too. Andrea is such a sweet teenager. She never even hesitates to go right along with anything Emma wants.

I saw that they had Joe Gibbs there to mediate the meeting between the 2.

But I was not happy to Kurt Busch win. I don't like him, never have never will, and I hate seeing him drive that #2 car. He tries to talk smart but just comes off as annoying.

great zoo pics Marie. Sounds like it was a neat day. I haven't been to a big zoo in a while. Hershey has a little zoo. I just love seeing animals...even the bunnies hopping around earting flowers!

Kurt's not as bad as he used to be. He does think he's cute when he flashes that victory sign...
