Marie, sorry to hear about DS's broken heart. Young love is so tough.

marizp We thought the Jim Stafford show was funny. DH even caught a cow patty. :rotfl: Sorry for your DS. I'm sure he'll find someone else (even if he doesn't believe it). He's still young, tell him to enjoy his bachelorhood. ;)

The computer seems ok today. Otherwise I wouldn't be on here. :lmao: I think I will avoid my other discussion board, the problem appeared after I went to their site.

Getting close to our 250!!!

I went to HP so see the Atlanta Rhythm Cpmpany...they were goo and loud! Couldn./t even hear the coasters going while they were palying!

I must go eat now after reading all that 'suggestive' food...thankfully sugar free Oreos are here!

Marie - So sorry to hear about DS break-up. I'm sure he's a wonderful guy and some day some girl is going to be lucky to get him. But for right now, I am sure it hurts like crazy. :sad1: Tell him to listen to Garth Brooks "Unanswered Prayers".

DL - Yay for changes at the Fort. You'll have to tell us all about that. Would love to camp at the Fort one day.

Kitty - sorry about the allergies. At least this time you have Hello Kitty's ice pack to help you through. :thumbsup2

Well the weather here last night was thankfully quiet. Guess the storms fizzled before they reached our area. Got a full night's sleep.
And today my in-laws came to visit us w/o having to be asked. Finally drove all the way out here to spend time w/ us. Was shocked. We had a wonderful afternoon and the kids liked having them here too.

Good morning---have to save D&D! Glad the storms fizzled...I woke up to thunder this am.

I guess no one wants to get too close to 250...Kitty---are you ready?

The song Breaking Up Is Hard To Do comes to mind. I know it's easy for us to say it'll be ok...but it's hard when you are going through it. You have a good listening ear for him Marie. I know he'll have mommie's TLC to help him through it.

I'm going out for lunch today...post office and need to buy bird seed. I'm starting to get birds!

Good morning ladies! The storms came through here early this morning also, but we may get a few more this afternoon. Still going to be hot though.

So, have we decided on the official next thread name? If we're chatty today, we may have to start it tonight....

So I called my local jury service and turns out I last served July 3 2006. I swear it was more recent than that. And I got chosen again! Right back into the pool and I got chosen. Its not that I mind serving, I'm not one of those people who try to get out of it. But White Plains is just too darn far. I'd have to leave about 5:30 am to get there with all the commuter traffic. But the lady on the phone was really nice and said if I volunteered to serve locally, I would be excused from the White Plains duty. Such a better choice.

And you know I'll get called again. I always get called. I think its the demographic. There's not a lot of Asians here, so I have to represent.

Haven't had my morning tea yet...off I go!

We have lots of birds here year round. We've gotten pigeons lately, which is strange. We have a loner pigeon that I've named Felix, and I think he has hearing issues. I can walk right up to him and he doesn't scare. I really don't like they bluejays, they're very loud. I have a little cardinal family that are so cute. We have an entire flock of mourning doves too. They're great entertainment for the cats.

Good morning ladies!
Thanks for all the support about DS's current love life... or lack thereof. I agree that if she is meant to be the right one it will all still work out and if not... well then... good riddance. Yep, young love is tough! :sad2: Heartbreak is horrible and even more intense when you are a teenager. I am so glad I am not still going through that dating stuff!
He is a great guy! He has everything most girls would want in a guy. Handsome, funny, attentive, and would do pretty much anything for them. I think there lies the problem. He is too nice. Just like it has always seemed to be.... stupid girls usually like the good for nothing ones first! I know I usually did. D&D, Unanswered Prayers fits my life to a tee!
So anyway, for now, we just have to convince him that he just needs to enjoy life. We suggested that he not even worry about a serious relationship until he was say..... much closer to 30. He seems to be doing okay but I just know it really sucks for him right now.

DL55, how lucky for your DH to catch a cow patty! :lmao: Did he take it home for a souvenir?

D&D, glad the weather missed you last night and you got the chance to enjoy some time spent with the in-laws.

M&N, it's my birdies heading your way again. They have given up on me! It is hotter than you know where outside so refilling the bird feeder has not been at the top of my list. Glad you are ready to take over and fatten them back up! :thumbsup2

Kitty, I guess they think you are one of their good choices for a juror! Glad you were able to work it out so you don't have to drive so far.

It's going to be nice and quiet here today. DH is on his way to Nebraska to pick up his new airplane. (not new, just new to him) The insurance came through and he will actually be able to scrap the old plane, upgrade to the new one and still make money. He has always been like that! I can't make money at anything but he has some sort of knack. :confused3

Morning ladies!

Marie: I didn't have a serious relationship until I met my DH (I was 18, he was 21). Tell DS to just be friends with the girls. Go dutch on dinner, movies, etc. It won't take long for those girls that have been eyeing the bad boys to take a look at the good guy who has been there for them the whole time.

M&N: Have fun at lunch!

Magi: I have never served on a jury. DH has and he was even the forman.--Someone posted an name for the thread before that I thought was a good one. Don't remember the exact wording though.

Hello to the rest of my fine TKer friends!

I think 30 is a perfect time for DS to settle down Marie. There's just so much out there to experience and if he happens to find that perfect girl along the way, then great. But there are reasons for everything in life and I believe in the BIG PLAN, so just have a little faith that the best life for DS will find him.

My older niece (the twin) has the opposite problem. I think she's TOO serious with her boyfriend, who the family calls bagel boy. (His license plate says BAGEL, since his family runs a bakery). He's nice enough but they don't do much aside from be with each other. THey don't socialize with others. She doesn't even have a license coz he drives her everywhere. I've asked my nephew about him (they all go to the same college) and no one seems to like the BF at all. They think he mistreats her, he's too possessive. I tell my nephew as her brother, her twin, he's supposed to look out for her, but he says he's tried to talk to her and its just useless. All I know is that I had a fantastic time in college and thinking that my niece is missing out on it just makes me sad.

Pike, that's so sweet of you and DH! I had a serious BF through high school and college, and although I thought at the time he was the one, I'm a completely different person now than I was then and I don't know if we as a couple would have worked out...

I've been called four times previously for jury duty...and have been picked everytime. I'm a well-educated, female minority in a rural area. I swear, lawyers practically salivate when I walk in there. I'm practically a pro-juror myself. I know I'll be picked so I pack a bag of goodies to keep me occupied while I wait for the rest of the jury to join me. Only two cases have gone to actual trial, and they settled during lunch, so I'm not too worried....

Hi!

mariezp yes, we kept the cow patty. ;)

I think I was my DH's only relationship. He was 35 when we married. His family was worrying about him. :rotfl2:

When we were in Calif. we had jury duty. DH was disappointed not to be picked. I was on two different trials. I told DH they only picked me because they thought women with large chests weren't smart. :lmao: I don't think that jury members have very high IQs. (Except for you MagiKitty ;))

My DD has brought home a half grown pigeon. She plans to releas it when it's feathers have come in. We'll see.

Most of my fellow jurors have been senior citizens, which is fine with me. When we've been sequestered, we've had some great conversations!

DL55...how did DD find a half-grown pigeon? Have you raised birds before? I wonder if Felix would let me pet him. He has a nice pink color around his neck. We could match.

She found it in front of the store she works at. She and her friend think it's a fledgling. It looks like it has most of it's feathers so I'm not sure what is wrong. It's tail feathers are really short though. :scratchin

hey all:

In-laws are coming to visit so I won't be around tonight...someone pm me the new thread OK???

Ev, what is cheese curds and gravy?

Cheese curds are really fresh cheese before it ages...if it's real fresh it actually squeaks when you eat it. Gravy is just plain old beef gravy. Yummy with fries. I know it sounds weird...poutine is actually a French Canadian dish but you can get it pretty well everywhere here.

We had a heck of a storm blow through around 11 last night...lasted about 3 hours...we had tornado warnings which are extremely rare here but looks like there was only hail and high winds so some folks lost their power.

Ok, so do you believe in the power of positive thinking? I was watching the morning shows and I saw a advertisement for the Goo Goo Dolls in concert in NYC. Gosh, I love them. I wanted to go so badly! So I check their website and see the closest they are to me is Scranton, which isn't too bad being 2 hours away. But tickets were a little pricey and I'm still debating whether I should see John Williams and the Boston Pops in two weeks.

So I'm perusing my bargain website where I see someone has posted $10 concert tickets, no other fees. And what's there? My Goo Goo in Scranton!!!!!! So, without consulting anyone, I bought three tickets. I'll find someone to go later. But I got AMAZING SEATS for $30 total. I'm to the right, 20 rows back, first three seats. I can't beleive it! I'm so excited!

By the end of next month, I'll have no hearing though. That's four concerts in three weeks. But it'll be worth it!

Really, the Goo was meant to be.

Oh Kitty---what are we going to do with you? ;) Going all gooey (or would it be gooie?) on us and adopting a pink pigeon! Maybe you can get out of jury duty because you have a dependent pink pigeon at home! I do know you get along fine with seniors as I'm almost one...:cutie:

DL55---I can see your dh jumping up and catching that cow patty! Maybe yuou need to send Kitty your pogeon so they will become mates! Hers sounds lonely!

I had a great lunch---salad and soup! We were there for over 2 hrs! She just got back from Ireland and had to tell me about it.

Was the name TKers: 8 is NOT Enough! It was something like that anyway...help me out here...we need to be prepared...

Hey Mere!

M...that sounds like a lovely lunch.

Looks like we may have to start a new thread tonight. I think that was the name! Will everyone be around 9pm EST for the festivities? I have to dig out the Tker list again....I'm gonna need help!

So now I can post here and not worry we'll hit 250 and no new one....
