Morning!

Holly: Hugs to Hale for not making it. I know she's disappointed but I agree that now you get to spend all that practice time together instead. I can see your ticker now and so I'm passing along my "Have fun!".

JO: Chinese Buffet sounds yum-mey! No sushi though.

Pepper: Hey girl!

Wendy: It's good to see you.

SCHBR'smom: You can do it! Think of it as ONLY 4 weeks to go.

Magi: I can't believe it's only 3 more days until AC!

On the book subject, I read alot of younger type books because I had a younger sister. Babysitters Club, The Sleepover Friends, etc. I read a few SweetValley High but not many. I read Nancy Drew and few Hardy Boys plus read the New Nancy Drew where she was more modern and hip. Add to that a series called Sisters and other teen romance types. I guess I read a little of everything.

Well I've been slacking off instead of doing my chores to get ready for the company that is coming over for dinner. My cake is baking right now which will have to cool before I can make the frosting and then frost it later this afternoon. We're having stuffed shells, salad and bread with chocolate chocolate cake for dessert. MIL is bringing the salad and Aunt is bringing the bread. I really should be cleaning but just not in the mood. I figure I atleast need the bathroom cleaned of the short and curlies so that is one thing that I will definitely get done.

Pike, I only have this weekend and the first weekend in December visitor-free, so I'm full-on lazy today. (I do have laundry going though).

Sounds like a lovely dinner. I have been planning my visitor meals. I usually cook a few times a week and repurpose or reheat the other days. Guess I have to be a better host and actually try to cook when I have guests. But they're my cousins (boys) and I think they'll eat pretty much anything and as long as I have alcohol around, everything will be good...

Been trying to get on and post for two days now, but the ol'd laptop isn't cooperating at all. Hopefully after the new year I can start shopping round for its replacement.

Holly -- AWESOME NEWS, it seems like just what we have all been waiting for!! No I have 0 doubts that you are going to win this fight!

Sorry for your daughter though. Those kinds of dissapointments can seem like the end of the world at those young ages.

Wendy - where have you been girl, you better come over more often.

Kitty -- I read all of the Sweet valley series, from the kids to the high school, even the college. Did you know they just released an "adult" version of the SV book, where the twins no longer live in the same area and are not speaking? I want to get it and read it at some point, but Walter usually doesn't allow mommy reading time, unless he is asleep of course, but then I am too tired!

Hi to everyone!

I just noticed my post count. 1907? Only 93 to go and I'll be at 2000. Which I realize many of you could do in about a month...

Enjoying some quiet time right now til the kids get back from the ex's. We are going to a HS play tonite--both of my BFF's kids are in it. It's a murder mystery, so it should be good. Tomorrow my DSis and my niece are coming to visit for the afternoon. They have their dog with them, and it will be the first time Duke and Fibi have met (remember, they live in Turkey, and Fibi hasn't been back to the US since she left 8 years ago!) This should be interesting, as Duke is a very social dog, and Fibi is NOT!

Hope y'all are having a nice Saturday.

LITC...I have to tell you something. I got my Dory jacket from Lands End and I absolutely love it! With the discounts, it ended up being about $47 dollars. It has a furry hood (I love fuzzy) and it comes down to about mid-thigh. Its puffy but stylish. I highly recommend it. I got it a dark brown color, but it comes in several colors.

I'm starting to get excited about Atlantic City! But I have to find my bathing suit (ugh). Going mid-week in November, I'm hoping for it to be super slow and basically have run of the place!

Bopsmom...I got your note and THANK YOU! for being such a wonderful addition to my life. All of my lovely ladies have become so near and dear to me.

Good evening my friends!

Dinner went very well. Food was yummy and the company was good. The kitchen is cleaned up and the dishwasher is running. Cooking was actually kind of fun so now I've decided to change my plans around for Thanksgiving. Since there is only going to be the 4 of us I had planned to do something simple and probably frozen. Sometimes we get these stuffed chicken things that everyone likes and I figured I would just do that. MIL is planning a full on dinner for the weekend after she gets back so I thought why bother. Well, I've decided to do Cornish Game Hens. Found a really easy to follow recipe with video on the food network website. It's from the show The Neelys. I watched them a little bit today and their show was pretty good so when I started searching for recipes this one caught my eye. I think the kids will get a kick out of having their own "little Turkey".

LITC: Hi! How's our little man?

Magi: Enjoy the quiet while you can.

Pike, I love the Neelys! they're up there with Ms. Paula Deen. Cornish game hens sound like so much fun.

In my Sunday papers, I usually get coupons for Michaels and ACMoore. I used one of my coupons this week on a cooking magazine called Comfort Food. Lots of yummy recipes in there with pictures. oh, am I drooling? Pardon me...

Cool I will check it out. If I can get one for around that price (they sent me an email for I think 30% off) then I may just go ahead and do it!!

Pike, Hello!! And he is doing great thanks!! He is babbling quite a bit more nowadays (I LOVE it!!) And has made several attempts at walking. He has also FINALLY showing a (small) interest in food, that is besides baby food.

:goodvibes Hi all

I hope everyone is getting the rest that they need. This time change is killing me.

:sunny: With the weather being good today. I dug out all of my Christmas decorations. DH can get them down and out of the garage. I have had my Mickey-Head Christmas wreath up since labor day. I do things as long as it is nice outside. I saw that the firemen with all of there equipment were decorating downtown this morning.

Bopsmom~I am so sorry that Hale didn't get chosen.

Magi~Gotta love those coupons!

LITC~ What is Santa bring Walter for Christmas?

JO, Eve, Wendy, SCHBR'smom

I am sure that M&N, DL55 and marie are all having a good time!

Chat later

Evening all:

Pike ~ sounds like lots of good eating at your place.

Hey Sukie...long time no chat.

I have a dory but it is more of a spring/fall jacket, no hood...love it and wear it all the time.

W ~ Hope the doggies behaved and that you had a good visit.

Hi to everyone else.

Evening ladies!

today is BF's birthday. He's not much into celebrating but he does appreciate a good meal, so it was a good day.

My friend from Samoa is stateside and I'm taking her to Atlantic City for some quality girl-time this week. I'm looking forward to seeing her. She's been involved with a terrible man--she knows it too--and she called me last night crying about him. Its so hard to be a friend and see her go through such things. I do hope that this weekend has opened her eyes truly to her own value.

I want to kick his a**. She's really one of the smartest people I know and has totally been taken by this guy. Its so painful to watch her go through this.

It makes me appreicate my man so much. He definitely puts up with a lot of my shortcomings and antics, but he is such a good person, I truly don't deserve him somedays. (but there are somedays he doesn't deserve me either, so I guess we are matched).

For those of you with a good man, or are raising good men, appreciate all that you have in your lives. And appreciate yourselves, ladies. You all are gorgeous, smart, talented, loving, incredible. Don't ever let anyone tell you different.

Hi Sukie! Good to hear from you. So far Walter is getting a few Handy Manny tools from Santa, and I am honestly not sure what else yet! I am very very unprepared this year!

Well Kitty - after a whole big debate and going back and forth I ended up getting a Chevron Down Lands End coat today. It is a 3/4 length with a hood, but just trying it on in the store, I started to sweat. So I bet it will keep me good and warm! First I looked it up online, but they didn't have the size I wanted. So I thought, well maybe I will go to the mall and see if they have it. Which they did, but on the web it was $10 cheaper, so we asked and they said, well the discount we have puts us at the same price. Wrong. Online it was $10 cheaper, plus 30% off (which the store was giving) plus free shipping (which you obviously dont need at the store). So we asked yet again, and they said ok, they would match it. So we left the mall ( no coat yet) and went to Giant Eagle, a grocery store here and bought gift cards to buy the coat with, because every $50 you spend there you earn .10 off on fuel purchased at the gas stations they own in OHIO. So we go over there I buy gift cards, go back to the mall and get in line. I explain to the guy about the price difference, he isn;t sure. So he calls the other girl over and she says I will ring you out at my register. Fine. So we go with here and she starts to ring us up, but I tell her I don;t have my rewards card for sears, you get points for every dollar you spend (although I have no idea what they are used for) can she look mine up by my phone number (which I have done there before) she says no. I say no? She says well I can look it up but I can;t tell you your balance. I say that is fine I don;t need my balance just want the dollars I am spending applied. Fine. But meantime she is so busy asking other employees whether they can clock in early so she can leave early I realize AFTER we leave the store that she never looked up and applied my points. GRRRR. So now I have to find out if they will do that, I don't see why I should have to lose out on the points. But long story short (sort of) I am now the proud owner of a super warm lands end coat. And the color I ended up with even matches Kitty's!!

Congrats on the coat LITC! Glac you got it....and good for you for getting it discounted and getting the money off gas! I'm very impressed.

You should be able to get the reward points by bringing the receipt back. You may even be able to call somewhere and get it appllied.

I'm not sure what the rewards are for either.

Thanks Kitty, the whole time I was trying to figure out how to get every last discount possible, I was thinking of you. (That is a compliment by the way!)

Compliment appreciated! You have to be smart these days and you work hard for your money!

I actually am excited to wear the jacket sometime next year (I can hope for a mild winter, can't I?)

Well I certainly hope your wish comes true!

As for mine, I will be breaking it out as SOON as it gets cold! I don't like to be cold.

Well I think I am going to run. It was a busy weekend, actually got quite a bit done, but it wore me out!

Good night and take care!

I wont be on till later to stay for awhile.....

Kitty -
8.gif
to your BF!!!

A big HELLO to all my Tker buddies out there. (That includes you too Pikester )

Had a decent weekend here. Went to that wedding and it wasn't as bad as I had thought. I'm sure it was because my sis was sitting at the wedding table so the mood of our table was so much lighter.
My DS12 caught the garter during the wedding dance. Should have seen him dive for it - like it was money or something. Not sure if I should be worried or proud.

Boys got their report cards and both had As & Bs. :cheer2: This is huge for DS12 who rarely (if ever) gets 1 A. I am so proud of them! Will have to do something special on Friday as they are off of school for Parent Teacher conferences.

D&D, congrats to your boys on their report cards! Awesome grades!
