I'm pretty sure it was in Caesar's Hotel & Casino......La Piazza. Some of the best crab legs I've ever had. Price is comparable to Disney's buffet prices.

I read Flowers in the Attic too. The grandmother scared the crap out of me as a kid.

There were a bunch of other VC Andrews series, but I never got to them.

I've eaten at Caesars too! That was one fine buffet. Harrahs is away from the Boardwalk, but we're going to be tourists and head down there anyway, so we may go eat there. Yum.

Hey Jo! Doin' good. Getting ready to dye DD's hair when she gets home...it does not matter that I am tired. :rotfl2:

Yea, I finally outgrew the Sweet Valley high. I like to read Heather Graham, Iris Johansen etc... Of course one of these days I am going to get my butt in front of the keyboard and get my own book finished. It has been slow going. I have it in my head...just have not had the "gumption" to type it (I know you are waiting, I have not forgotten. :rotfl:)

oop, there is DD...duty calls.

Mmmm, Caesars was good. Actually I like all the buffet food. I am not real picky...I just like food in QTY lol. popcorn::popcorn::

The last time we went to AC, we went with my brother and his wife. We decided to go at the last minute with really no money. We ended up at some "dumpy" hotel with connecting rooms for $40 a night. We picked up a bit to drink and spent our first night there playing cards till 6am. Good times.....LOL

I never really got into her other books either but I have read all the Flowers in the Attic books multiple times.

I'm totally with you, Pepper! There's always something I find to enjoy.

How nice of you to dye DD's hair.

And yes, we're still waiting for you to finish that book! Famous author-friend!

I went through a serious Catherine Coulter phase in college. And this one book called Too Deep for Tears by Kathryn Lyn Davis that I've read half a dozen times...

I'm feeling like I'm tired of being pregnant. 4 more weeks...

I never read Sweet Valley High either. In high school, I remember reading the Anne Rice vampire books, Shakespeare (for fun, what a nerd), and I loved poetry. My oldest DD is really into Percy Jackson right now.

I will finish it...that is my promise to you guys..but you gotta tell me if it stinks. :rotfl: That is my rule.

I will have to read that book. I love a good read.

You can do it!!!!!! 4 weeks ain't notin' compared to what ya been through...I know easy for me to say. I swear those last few weeks felt longer than the entire 9 months! From what I am reading though, there is always bacon!

I think my Mom likes Anne Rice. I know she was in to some vampire series.

Okay...DD is ready...ugggggg.

Heather Graham sounds really familiar. I think I have some of her books....maybe.

Right now I'm re-reading a series by Lincoln Child and Douglas Preston. They are crime novels with a very unconventional FBI Agent and most are set in the New York Museum of Natural History.

What color are you dying DD hair?

Kerrie, oh those last few weeks were always horrible for me. I was so ready for the baby to born. I especially missed seeing my feet by that time.

Here ya'll are.
Thank you all for the cheers.:cheer2::cheer2: I think I heard them all the way down here today....at least I felt them :goodvibes

Randon comments....

Mmmmmmmm Bacon. Everything is better with it.

Pepper...I'll be doing the same thing. :worship:
Magi...I think after this news you can keep a little luck for your trip...I don't want to be selfish. Oh, I thought of you today. I was buying sox and I was standing in front of a row of "boot sox' :)

OMG Flowers in the Attic....I read those. How about Go Ask Alice? How many of you guys hid that book from Mom and Dad?

JOCA...That letter...Jeezzz is all I can say. It's amazing. I call Haley "my Haley" but not 'my property' kinda strange way to put it considering that whackado is preaching all about rights.

SCHBR'smom... Tell your hubby Yep, I'm from Houston. I grew up 2 blocks from the MedCenter in the Rice Village. He is so right...I am so lucky to be where I am and to have friends that work there and got me in quickly.

I'm tell ya'll this now: if ANY of YOU EVER need this type of care you'd better tell me. My mom's house has 'quarters' a small house we built for my grandparents-to stay in and it's empty. You will have a place to stay and a family here to take care of you.
I don't know how these people that come from all over the world do it. Leaving their family, coming to a big city, the $$$ and the drain must be amazing. I get to come home...either here or Mom's and sleep in my own bed every night. I KNOW I am one lucky so and so.

Well, I finally got a call from Hale, it 9:30 and she's at All District Band TryOuts...little thing didn't even call me to check in...I've been worried but trying to keep my cool by doing more lacework. I hope she makes it *fingers crossed*. I will have to get her in a few so if I go MIA don't give up on me.

Again, I can't thank you all enough for being there for me. My hubby didn't understand our friendship but he does now. xoxox

I read Don't Ask Alice too!

Hugs Bopsmom...you've been in my thoughts all day.

Kerrie...its the home stretch now! You can do it! And remember....hold out for Dec. 9!

JO--I'll have to check out those books...sounds like something I would enjoy!

Good luck to Hale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I made both my older kids read Go Ask Alice. I never had to hide books from my parents. Neither one was into reading so they gave me free reign when it came to books.

pepper, I've been more than patient waiting for your book. You better get on the ball.

Good luck to Hale! I know she'll do great.

I'm back.

:sad1:Poor Hale didn't make it but, one boy-a good friend of hers did and he was rubbing it in pretty good when I got there.:sad2: She is crying because he is 8th chair in the school band and she is 2nd.
He is a very competitive boy and he didn't realize he was hurting her. He is very nice and I suspect he will be calling in the morning. He also said he's not been working on the concert music at all and just doing this one song for audition. I told Hale that wasn't right and that she is 2nd chair and plays concert solos because she is an all around musician and not a one-trick pony.

Oh well, I'm proud that she put herself out there-kinda glad she doesn't have to spend the next 4 weeks at weekend rehersals....I want her here with me instead :-)

Aww, tell Hale I'm sorry she didn't make it. And you are definitely right....better to be an all around musician.

I've been trying to convince Jackie to start playing her violin again. Her current school doesn't have an orchestra so she's kinda given up playing for now. Maybe I'll pick her up some new music for Christmas.

Jackie should pick it up again. I hate that they've taken or diluted the music programs in the schools nowadays. Haley's school hadn't had a band in years before they opened it as an Academy. Sad...kids need music.

I love Christmas music. That should get her going.

Duh, you meant music for a gift.....I think the chemo is really messing with my brain.
Oh, I didn't tell ya'll and my hair is falling out by the handfuls.
I thought Winkleman shed....ha, she ain't got nothing on me. Thank goodness I made 4 new hats last night. I'm gonna need them. I got a hat in my closet that says "No Hair Day" that I bought as a joke gift but never got to give it to my friend (he passed away) I guess I'd better find it.

Well, I'd better sign off. Gonna feed the kiddo. Dave is out of town so I'm a single parent this weekend.

I remember when my mom started losing her hair for the first time. Pissed her off more than anything.

Nope, not Christmas music but she has been mentioning the music to POTC so that's a thought.

Have a good night. I get to pull the single mom thing next week. Happy, happy, joy, joy.

OK, I know I haven't been over here in ages, but I just had to stop by to say:

WOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!

:cool1::cool1::cool1: :worship::worship::worship: :banana::banana::banana: :yay::yay::yay: :dance3::dance3::dance3: :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Holly that is such WONDERFUL news!!! I am praying for that 50%. If anyone can beat this, it's you!

As far as your hair falling out, a dear friend of mine, when I asked about his suddenly bald head, told me "I shaved it. Think of all the money I'm saving on shampoo!!"

Sending you hugs, love, prayers, and all that good stuff!

Good morning ladies....

Hugs to Hale...sorry she didn't make it. And she has the right idea---being a better overall person is much better than working on just one thing. I never learned an instrument, and I wish I did.

Jackie, pick up that violin! Its a beautiful instrument and you're being joy to the world when you play it.

Bops, I'm totally a hat person. But I have a big head, so its difficult for me to find a hat that doesn't look silly on my big noggin.

Yeah! Its fluffy movie day on Hallmark. Lots of holiday movies. It'll keep me company as I do laundry. I also have to go over my holiday gifts that I've already bought to see what I have, what I need. But I'll think about that later....

Let's have a good day everyone!
