Welcome back MK and M&N!! We missed you guys. Looking forward to hearing about your trips.

Evening ladies! Brr...its cold outside!

I did my first audit for mystery shopping. Upon entry, I had to introduce myself to the grocery manager then go evaluate both the bakery and meat departments. I felt kinda bad because I could tell they were in a tizzy about my presence. But it was the parent company ShopRite itself who hired me, so it was ok. Overall, both the bakery and the meat departments did ok.

I had felt bad yesterday driving back coz I had lost at the casinos. But I stopped by today to pick up my free play and I won it all back plus more! I hit the bonuses three times and walked out with $400! Eoo-hoo!

Probably the best news of the last few days is that BF's grandma is officially in remission! What a miracle! She had wanted to quit her treatment months ago because it was tiring her out and she wasn't improving. But she stuck with it and now she's planning her annual trip to Florida, something she thought she wouldn't be able to do this year. Its just so amazing!

Atlantic City trip...

I was supposed to pick up my friend Ivy around lunch. I had gone to Macys earlier for their doorbusters and managed to pick up a few gifts for my parents. By the time I got to her, she was ready and we took off. It was a about 90 minutes to AC...so we arrived mid-afternoon. We decided to go first to the outlets. There was free valet parking on Tuesdays, so it was great! We got a lot of good bargains there before heading to Harrahs around 7:30.

We checked into the hotel and headed up to our room on the 12th floor. It was a great room and the beds were so comfy. Then we went downstairs to play a bit and wait for Edward, who showed up about 11pm. We hung out around the hotel for a while then went to sleep about 3am.

The next morning we headed down to the Pool. Its an indoor atrium, kept at a steady 82 degrees. We found an empty hot tub and climbed on in. We had lunch poolside also, and the prices weren't bad. Relaxing at the hot tub was perfect after all the driving the day before!

Then we drove o Caesars to check out the Boardwalk. It wasn't very cold, but it was very windy! We left Edward to gamble at Ballys while we went back to finish up our outlet shopping. We then met Edward at the Melting Pot for dinner.

There was a special prix-fixe menu that night, 30/pp. We were put in the fancy private dining room. We were laughing coz it was too nice for us! We had four courses. Apps was a cheese fondue, second were Asian salad wraps, third was Mojo sauce of pork, chicken, shrimp and tortellini, and fourth was chocolate fondue. All amazing! what a bargain!

We tried Caesars for a while. There was some sort of convention that we crashed at the bar. From what I could tell they were a company of public relations firms. They were pretty fun.

We headed back to Harrahs about midnight. We had originally planned to hit the club (the pool area turns into a club at night), but we were lured back to the slots and the free drinks. When the club closed at 2am, all the drunken fools spilled out to the gaming floor. We were so popular! Lots of guys came over and were talking and buying us drinks, but they were so young! I was laughing that I could be their mother. I wasn't shy about telling them my age, but it didn't stop them! It was kinda nice, but I was a good girl and told them that I just wanted to gamble, thanks anyway. I haven't had that much male attention in a long time!

We got back to the room super late. Edward had to leave at 6am, and I didn't even hear him. Ivy and I had breakfast (comp'd) then headed back up the parkway. There was a bit of traffic, but we were so busy chatting it was fine. But boy was I tired last night!

It was good to be with friends and considering that the room and breakfast were free, I really can't complain about losing my money there. It was more about the experience. Edward and Ivy are already talking about a Vegas trip next year!

Welcome back Magi and M&N!

Magi: Sounds like you three had a blast! Too funny about the drunk young guys.

Sounds like a great trip. I am so glad you had a good time.
Maybe you should change your name to MagiCougar. :thumbsup2

Had a great flight back---as great as a coming home flight can be! I'm at my house for a few minutes and had to check in. I'll be back Sun pm. I had to run in to see the librarian that I am subbing for on Mon and Tue.
I missed track smack about 48's pit crew change!

Hope all is well with everyone here---page 190 already!

Missed you all!

LITC---need a Walter pic!!!

Glad your back safe and sound.
Oh, subbing on a Holiday week:scared1: are you doing all week of just a day of it?
You aren't allowed to miss during the week of a major holiday down here.
I almost got fired when I was PG with DD, caught pneumonia and my Dr wanted me to rest. My principal threatened to fire me, my doctor called her and told her, "She can rest now (Mon/Tues) or I will put her on bed rest for the rest of the pregnancy"(I was due in May) and call the Teacher's Union." My principal didn't want me to miss because I was a lead teacher and it was a tough group of students with 3 first year teachers and one that was a short-timer.

I've been hanging more on the FB than here but, I wanted to check in. Hope everyone has a nice weekend planned.

Oh, I took the leap yesterday.
My hair had been coming out by the fist full and driving me nuts so, I got me a wig, and shaved my head.
Iz is bald
It's kinda fun, liberating in a way.
Now, My hair is always styled perfectly-it's just sitting on my desk in the bedroom :rotfl:
There are SO many nice wigs nowadays and it really cuts the time it takes to get ready to go somewhere. I bought some head wraps/caps and Mom got me a great new McCall's pattern for head wraps, caps and turbans.
It's all good. :goodvibes

Check back later. Gotta go run my machine-Christmas is coming

:grouphug:

I'm back. :)
First thing - :banana::cool1::dance3: on Bopsmom's news!

I was surprised to see DD log on here to tell you about our misfortune. Now I have to watch what I say.

Hawaii was great of course. Getting to and from was not. :headache:
Initially our first flight was canceled (mechanical). There were no flights that would get us to Phoenix in time for our flight to Maui. We flew to Phoenix where US Airways paid for our hotel (Courtyard by Marriott) and our dinner. Next day they flew us first class to Maui. :snooty::)
We island hopped mid visit to the Big Island. To get back to Maui we had to take a plane to Honolulu then to Maui. The plane arriving in Kona was a half hour late which made our flight a half hour late. We watched our connecting flight leave as were arrived. :sad1: We took a later flight that would still give us time to get our out bound flight. After we pulled away from the gate the pilot came on to say there was a problem light on. Luckily they had an empty plane right next door. So we all transferred from one plane to the other. We left almost an hour late (we only had a little over an hour to make our other flight. :scared1: Because of our initial late flight we had ended up at the back of the plane. By the time we got off and got to the other gate another couple with the same problem were already talking to the gate people. We ended up second to last boarding and left about 5 minutes after we boarded.
I think if we go back it will be by cruise ship.

Welcome back DL...remind me never to fly with you  Wow what a saga. You must be glad to be home. DD did a great job checking in...tell her to come back anytime.

Welcome back Dl55! Sounds like you had an adventure! But you can't be too mad about it--you scored first class tickets! Woo-hoo! So, what was the best part? What did you eat? Any celebrity sightings? Everything!

Bopsmom...don't you like it when you just take charge like that? Just go ahead and shave your hair...you'll still be gorgeous! Strange question...what time zone are you in? I'm going to try to be here for Monday chat!

I am sick. It started as a scratchy throat last night--at least I started feeling like crap AFTER I drove through traffic to pick Mom up at the airport. She actually got in early and was waiting with my cousin while I fought construction and nasty drivers.

Anyway, I had fever and chills last night, but started antibiotics and I'm already feeling better. My voice is a bit husky and scratchy at the moment, and I kinda like it. Sound like a sexier version of ordinary me.

Hey---I finally get to sleep in my own home tonight! I had to turn up the heat. I had left it at 61. I cannot stay up late. I have to work--the paid kind--Mon and Tue. I think being a middle school/high school librarian is what I should have been. I only have 1 class in 2 days! In elem it's 5 or 6 a day.

I liked the MagiCougar comment!

Sorry, but I am thankful it's nonstop to Orlando! It was only 1 hr 50 min too! Cannot beat that.

I'll have to think of what to report about my trip. It was just loaded with fun.

Gotta check fb!

WOW D&D---we are neck and neck on the NASCAR picks. I think I picked Gordon this week and he's got a dnf! At least I didn't pick Kyle too! (Like I ever do!)

I guess I won't keep talking to myself...although I do need to get the post count up...

Thanks Magi
David keeps calling me GI Jane.:goodvibes Haley keeps rubbing my head, she says it feels like velvet. :rotfl: for now.

I won't be able to do Monday morning tomorrow. I have surgery scheduled @ noon to put in a medi-port then I get 4 hours of chemo. I won't be able to lift at all tomorrow or anything over 20lbs for awhile or raise my hands over my head for 3 weeks after the surgery-guess who's gonna be decorating the tree this year-Haley and her homies.:scared1::santa:

I live in Central Time Zone.

:sad1:  Take care of yourself, you've got the rest up for Friday.

Morning.
Thought I missed the Chemo Chat , but I see it has been cancelled.
You take it easy today Bopsmom. We'll just chat w/ you telepathically.:goodvibes

Welcome back M&N! Be waiting for those Mickey pics and that trip report. :yay:

Kitty - Enjoyed reading your "cougar" adventures. Yay on winning the money at home. See, you have to keep your gambling local.

DL- Can't wait for your trip report and pics too!!!! :thumbsup2 I so badly want to visit Hawaii some day.

Pike - Good luck shopping today. Me and the Target Lady are still training for Friday. ;)

Afternoon ladies. Still sick. Two more days of antibiotics. I need to get well ASAP. I need to get groceries and prep for shopping on Friday. I guess D and I are in training together!

Welcome back M&N! Looking forward to hearing about your trip. I saw your pic of the castle. Still so beautiful...even if I've seen it before, it still takes my breath away.

Bopsmom...thinking of you today. My father had a shunt put in for his dialysis. Just be careful for a few weeks, but you'll appreciate how easy things are later on. Planning to get the tree out this weekend too. I put the tree up for a few days to acclimate the kitties to the appearance of the huge green thing in the living room. If all goes well, then I decorate. I do have a lot of my shopping done so I can start wrapping too. I just love seeing presents under the tree, although I have to write the names on the side just in case the gift tag goes missing.

BF is younger than me, so I guess I've been a MagiCougar for a while. Although if you ask me, I'm still 29 and plan to be for a while.

My saying is---you can never have too many castle pictures! I really didn't get all the angles with the lights on!

What is the age difference to be considered a cougar?

I'm tired...had fun at work though. A senior stopped in his tracks and said It's Miss Nelms! There was another librarian there today but tomorrow I will be on my own...but no classes! A piece of cake!

Good Morning...off to work!

Hope everyone is resting up for the shopping and have visions of turkeys running away going through your head! ;)

Good morning!

Have fun today M&N.

Feel better Magi. --Hey, that means I'm 29 too!:goodvibes

D&D: That commercial is too freakin funny! I love the part where she is on the exercise ball out in front of the store.

Shopping with Mom went well. I did find a couple of things at the Target that we went to. We went to the Mall of New Hampshire after and there I found a pair of leggings for myself at Macy's for $6.00!:woohoo:They were regularly $39.99. Who in the heck would pay that much for glorified tights? My Mom found a really pretty skirt that is just right for a cruise for about $25 that was originally over $100! Like I said, Who the heck would pay that? Must be spun from gold.

We have plans to hit the stores on Friday. We so must be nuts but we plan on doing more watching of the other nutties then actual shopping. Do have a few things that I want to check for in the stores but they're not something that is usually on sale so the crowds shouldn't be mobbing around those areas. And just to add to it all it looks like we'll be getting a wintery mix for Friday morning. Yay. :sad2:
