Hiya Tink! Yes, we are pretty chatty, but don't let that intimidate you. If you get lost or fall behind, just jump right on in...
Welcome Tink! Try not to blink around here, you'll miss 10 pages in that time.![]()

Tink: If you have any questions, feel free to ask. It is hard to follow sometimes! D&D's neighborhood was visited by a tornado in June! She can fill more in. It was not a great experience when it happened and the nightmare is still going on by the sounds of it. Tell us some things about yourself--you don't have to do it all at once!I am a retired school librarian and live near Hershey.
Yet as I write this I realize there is nothing that exciting to tell ya about my house! LOL Welcome Tink! Sorry I"ve been a little preoccupied lately.
We had a tornado hit the house about a month ago. Lots of broken windows, roof damage, water damage, etc. Very scary experience. We had just made it to the basement when my husband covered the family with a blanket. Lights went off. Then all we could hear was glass breaking, things hitting the house (which sounded like bowling ball size hail) and wood cracking/ripping. We came up to find the house still in tact, things impaled in the sides, and a HUGE mess.
Right now we're fighting w/ insurance and mortgage company to pay the contractors or give us money for a down payment to get the work started.
Hey ladies...I went to Fb, but if you're here.....I just spoke to Deb. There's another storm heading their way tonight and we need prayers that this one doesn't happen and no more damage! I spoke to the Prez too...its breaking my heart. This can't happen again....prayer train!

I was a SAHM for about 10 years to my two boys ages 9 and 12 (almost 13). I now work part time as a substitute teacher at DS9's school which is K-4th grade.

) they took a turn south before hitting our town again. They were on the EXACT same path as last time. Hitting the exact same towns. ONly this time they were F0 which meant they were very weak tornados. Anyhow, we were hunkered down in the basement from about 6pm until 10pm when they finally gave us the all clear. Imagine the 4 of us crouched under the stairs with blanket, radio, lantern and water for 4hrs. They kept issuing tornado warnings and gave the path and time the tornado would be in our area. Each time we got to the point where the warning was set to expire, they would issue another one. They just kept coming one after the other like a train. Huge t-storms and lots of rain. Got about 8 inches of rain in like 2 hrs. It was unreal!!!! Milwaukee got so much rain there were sink holes forming at major intersections that were bigger than a house
.
Sorry I missed you last night Tink. Hope you don't mind the shortened version of your name. I was such a novice to these thihngs when I signed on I could not think of a clever name so I used my initials! When we first started this, I made a cheat sheet so I could remember things about the posters. I think I need to do it again---I do have trouble with names. So please feel free to ask about things. We are a group of caring friends and appreciate the interaction. There are all kinds of TKers here. Married and not, young and not so young, moms and grandmoms, working and not.
Have a great weekend everyone. I'm going to see Toy Story today! I'm going with my HP friends--he got us the tickets.
Morning ladies!
Faithful_Tink: I hope you don't mind but I'm going to call you Tink or FT, helps to shorten it up a little.I was a SAHM for about 10 years to my two boys ages 9 and 12 (almost 13). I now work part time as a substitute teacher at DS9's school which is K-4th grade.
M&N: I love Blizzards but it needs to be a peanutbutter cup one!

Hey gals. Thanks for the prayers last night. We are soooo appreciative!!!We had a real scary one again.
There were 4 count them 4 tornados that went through the area. Luckily, (and I believe this is because I called friends and asked them to pray) they took a turn south before hitting our town again. Not sure if that made the national news.
It felt like the apocalypse or something biblical the way those storms kept forming and training through all of SE Wisconsin. UNREAL!!!!
By the time we came upstairs and got the kids to sleep. (all in our room) we just crashed with exhaustion. The power had gone out too. I am sorry I didn't call last night or this morning. We got up late and then I took the kids out of the house, somewhere fun to help them cope with this all. We just got home.
Thanks again so very much for your prayers. I felt them work. DS8 said it too this morning when we realized how close those tornados came to us but then turned right before the came towards our neighborhood. The power of prayer.![]()
