Oh goodness...I had to laugh out loud at your kids' comments. They're so smart! And its true, pigs do grow up to be cute then yummy.

M...I didn't know you like pigs! My SIL loves them too. Its amazing what pig trinkets you can find when you look for them. And yes, they are really cute, both big and little. In the Phils, we traditionally have a pig roast. They know now that they must roast under the cover of darkness, coz I can't see it!

Mmm...its lunchtime too....

I like pigs too but mostly to eat, :rolleyes1: I do visit them at the fair.

Hi Faithful_Tink hope to see you around.

We have our reservations for our trip in Sept. I don't think I'll be visiting Calif for a while. It cost us $34/night plus an $8 reservation fee for basically a place to set up camp. No electric or water hookups. We are staying in Sparks for $38/ night including electric/water/sewer (although we don't use that). Grand Canyon and Yosemite are much cheaper although we will have to pay an entrance fee. Should have bought a year pass when we were at the forts in Puerto Rico.

Hey DL55! Another camping trip, huh? I figured after your grand tour in June you'd be camped out! Are you visiting family in Cali or just going to enjoy?

Ok, how did you get your camper to Puerto Rico? I would love to go there for the food and the beaches!

Morning all:

We are off on vacation for a week so I'll talk to you next Friday...try not to miss me too much!! ;)

Hey Tink...Welcome. Sit back and join the chat.

Oh, I forgot. JO asked why I have bacon in my siggie. Who doesn't love bacon?!? Several of us from the Not Another Swine Flu thread have it. It's a lovely place to honor all things bacon. :lmao:

DD thinks bacon is a food group!!

TTYL

Oh, and I forgot to formally complain about Chelsea Clinton's wedding. Its about 40 minutes from here and Rhinebeck, while quaint and adorable, is going to be a PITA to get around that weekend. And here's the kicker! I'm supposed to meet whgrn not that far from there that Friday before she goes to pick up DS....in Rhinebeck! Goodness me!

First it was Obama at West Point, now its the Clintons. Are they trying to drive me crazy???

Ev, where are you going on vacay? Have fun and be safe!

Have fun Ev!

Kitty -- sorry to hear about your presidential woa's (spelling?). Sometimes they can really screw you up. Obama mesed up my drive home once to, (or would have had I not decided that meant I should go out to dinner after work to kill the time until he left the area!)

Home sick today. Just feel yucky all over. Trying to have some oatmeal now, just to et something in me. Only ate about half of it so far. Being sick sucks.

Oh no LITC! Feel better darling! Don't eat too much if you can't. Just try to stay hydrated and rest.....

Thanks Kitty. I will do my best. I am sipping at some ginger ale also. Might try to sleep some this afternoon, see if that helps also. I just usually find it hard to sleep during the day.

BKMETV Have fun on your vacation! :goodvibes

LITC  Hope you look better than this soon. :flower3:

MagiKitty Yes they are trying to drive you crazy. ;)

I might get my hands slapped for FB guy so here you go this should keep you happy (for today anyways).....

:sad2:

Tomorrow, I'm going to clean the bathroom, do the dishes, make dinner, sweep the floor, and vacuum up the dog hair. Wanna trade?
Now there's fun!!!!

Feel better soon LITC. And try not to give it to Walter.

Marie - Love your post w/ all the smilies in it. :thumbsup2

Pikester - You're turning soft on us with those cutesie smilies now. I expect greater things from you girl!!! (or at least more offensive smilies.)

Not much new going on here. I am still fighting w/ the insurance company. :headache: I have also never seen so much RED TAPE before in my life. Even gov. forms are easier than this!!!!!
Here's how we have to get money from the insurance carrier....

1. Actually get a competent adjustor out here to PROPERLY evaluate the damage.
2. Get a detailed report from adjustor and a check stating exactly how much and what they will pay for. But, mind you, it is only made out for about 80% of the actual total value of the items lost/damaged. The remaining 20% stays w/ the insurance company til you get the work done.
3. Take said check (which is made out to us and our mortgage company) and turn it over to the mortgage company. Mortgage company will now only cut a check for the items after you get an estimate from a contractor and THE WORK IS COMPLETED!!!
4. I ask you what contractor will do work for you and then WAIT to get paid weeks after the work is complete???? They are also asking for money down. So out comes our credit card but only for small items as we don't even have enough credit for things like the roof, siding, windows, etc. :headache: WTH???

5. Once the work is performed and completed, submit 1 bill to insurance company for 20% of payment while also sending the same bill to mortgage company for 80% of payment. Sit here and wait to get paid back.
6. Continually argue with insurance carrier because they did such a crappy job the first time estimating total damage. See if any of this makes you laugh...(or cry in my case)

We had 3 windows broken or badly damaged. They said they would pay for 1 window and gave us a total of $169 for said window. :scared1: ARE YOU SERIOUS???? $169 will barely pay for the glass let alone the frame and labor.

They only allowed for 3 sides of the house to be resided. Umm...what about the holes in the other side??? They want the contractor to piece together the 4th side. :confused3 Seriously????

$6.39 to sand and restain window ledge (inside house) which received major water damage and now is black and smells of rotting wood.

I think I feel my stomach problems coming back. :sad1:

Oh, my goodness, D&D!!! How completely infuriating!!! It's not like you wanted all this to happen. They should be on your side not making things so difficult. I can't stand insurance companies. You make your payments on time and when you need them it's a pain in the bahookie. I'm so sorry. I hope things start getting easier.
