Yes, we will have a smash cake, in addition to a regular cake, and cupcakes. (all of which my MIL will be making,as she has been doing cakes for probably 30 years or so), so even better, they are all free!!

Don't worry it will go great! Smash cake, so funny b/c that is a big tradition where my DN lives in the mid west but never heard of it here on the E.C. Love it though.

disney54us, its the same here. My town and the next have a larger Jewish community, but the smaller school districts don't. We have a shortened spring break compared to other schools in exchange.

In graduate school, we had one Jewish classmate and I offered to celebrate the high holidays with him. He thought I was crazy, but you can't really be a solo Jewish person celebrating. He was rather impressed with my readings! And I didn't flinch when we ate the bitters.

Well I think that is very nice. Though I would skip the bitters, give me brisket, potato pancakes. You know it always works for me during lent to have bagel, lox and creamcheese

If I could pull off the Lucy haircolor, I would totally do it. But there's no way anyone would believe its my natural Asian color....

No I know that. Should have worded that better, he says that my D.S. isn't anything that's that big a deal that needs to be fixed right away but I have been having sleep issues for a while that he told me to let him know if it wasn't improving that's all. Sorry if that was worded wrong the first time.

Oh no need to be sorry, just having live w/ it for my life I just didn't get the connection. Really Deviated does not need to be fixed unless they really are causing medical problems or someone wants a Nose job badly, lol.
Sleeping issues I would connect to waking up tired and cranky. Just don't end up getting test that are not needed either b/c you have a doc that is 'test happy' or b/c your BF does have a sleeping disorder and believes everyone else does.

MK, from what I understood, they are worried about an infection from the poison. I think I may take some notes when I go back tomorrow. I haven't had poison in years. It's been so long, that I never even thought about it when I was out pulling weeds. But I also haven't been out in an overgrown yard in a long time either. At least I know now.

Livvie starts school on Tuesday and the rest on Wednesday. They have kindergarten, 1st, 6th and 10th graders start the day before because of the big changes with those grades. Gives them a day to get everything situated with them before all the other kids get there.

Well the steroids should help, and if they are worried or it looks like it is becoming infected contact your doc immediately and you would be put on a antibiotic.

My mom has wanted me to be tested too for a while cause of the way I sleep cause she's suspected some things have been wrong but I'm not one for tests or seeking help immediately cause I'm stubborn.

But in any case, I finally watched Dumbo yesterday night for the first time ever and I forreal haven't cried so much in my life.

Oh, I forgot to post what I know about M&N. I'm pretty sure she comes back on the 7th. And from what she's said about her plans, it sounds like she is more inland in NC. She talked about going to the Nascar Hall of Fame in Charlotte. Hoping that means all is well with her.

Good afternoon ladies. Another scorcher here, but the coast is beginning to worry abour Hurricane Earl. I keep thinking of M&N and hoping that they're all safe and prepared for whatever comes.

Its really loud around here right now. The cleaning bug has bit me. I decided to clean out the fridge and scrub it down-yuck! Jacques the Scooba is mopping the dining room and Hazel the Roomba is vaccuuming the kitchen. Its insanity!

Its a sign. Today's home testing: fabric softener. I've been putting off the laundry for a while now and now fate has stepped in. I have to use it over the next four weeks, and since I"ll be gone for nearly two of them, I have to start using it now so I can give it a fair evaluation. Next project, I suppose.

Yesterday was not a good day for driving in our town. We saw two accidents on the way home from shopping (about 15 min drive). The paper had a picture of another one later that day. I think the town needs renewal driving classes.

Kathy, you keep safe on those roads! Its only going to get worse with the holiday weekend. Around here, they want to squeeze every second of the holiday, but that often means being short-tempered and insane on the road. I don't even want to go out to my brother's party, but I should. I just have being out on our "country roads" with all the city folk who think they can drive 80mph just coz its not traffic. But you have to go 30mph coz the roads are narrow and twisty....

Hello my TKer friends.

I want to say Thank You for the thoughts and prayers for my family. It wasn't a surprise that FIL was going to pass but it's still a VERY sad time. The viewing is going to be Friday night from 6-8 and the funeral is Saturday at 10AM with a cookout to follow at my MIL's house. My FIL loved cookouts so in honor of him we will have the cookout and fireworks. We bought him a 3000 roll of firecrackers for Christmas and we had planned on setting them off for the 4th of July but he was in the hospital then.

I can't believe how HOT it is here! We actually had indoor recess at school today because it was just too hot. The weather is suppose to cool off for tomorrow and Friday with a chance of "Earl" making rain for us Friday evening. Fingers crossed that Earl pulls East so we don't have to deal with the effects.

Not sure if I'll be posting later so have a good evening and I'll stop by again soon.

Hey LITC...did Walter get my birthday card? I mailed it last week. I didn't start dyeing my hair until my mid-20s. I was blonde for about three seconds. I saw it in the mirror and said "no way! Change it now!". Never thought about pink but I do love everything about Gwen. She's awesome.

Pikester--so sorry to hear of your family's loss. Sounds like FIL was a great man who had so much love in his life. I"m glad you'll have the family together in a manner that he would really have enjoyed. Hugs to all of you.

Hello everyone! How was everyone's day? I spent most of my day cooking while wearing wonderful plastic gloves like they do at subway. I must have made 4 dozen deviled eggs today. Along with 3lbs of pasta salad. Tomorrow I get to make 2 different kinds of BBQ.

LITC, replace that "w" with a "b" and that's the kind of doctor I go to.

MK, I want to dye my hair a dark blue. Or maybe a dark purple color.

DL55, we had a very bad accident on our major highway here this morning. A car ran into the back of a parked tractor trailer. The smoke could be seen for miles and the highway was shut down for over 8 hours. I watch how other people drive and some of them are quite insane. And people ask me why I don't want to drive.

JO, a dark purple would look fantastic on you! Aside from all the cooking, how did you do today? How's the poison doing?

The poison is much better and almost all the swelling is gone. They did tell me it could take a month to get rid of everything and I did notice a few new spots pop up. Just trying to be real careful about everything.

Maybe I'll dye my hair dark purple for the holiday season. Spice things up a little.

I'm going to try and give M&N a call tomorrow afternoon while I'm cooking. Just want to make sure that's she's not in harms way.
