Good morning! Sweltering hot 90s today and bring it on! Its the first day of September and we're rocking the heat.

Mere...thanks for the video link! It was a great way to start my day. You and BF are so cute, congrats on the CPAP success! I was giggling by the way you talk to your Mom--I do that too! Good luck on the new school year!

I have to stop watching MTV. I had a dream last night I was on Jersey Shore and the girls and I were going to get into a fight. I've never been a physical altercation in my life! We were watching Teen Mom last night. Guity pleasure. These girls are so, so young and living their lives, making mistakes that affect their adorable little ones. I just like to watch the babies.

The movie Babies is coming out on DVD and I'm not sure I should watch it! I don't think my ovaries can handle it!

For those of you that met my Edward, I have a funny story about him. Next week, we're all descending (or ascending, considering its north) on Rochester to visit with my sister. My nephew and I are driving up, and Edward and Quincy are flying up on Wednesday. Only Edward has to work on Friday--something to do with Ramadan. So he's flying back to Baltimore early Friday morning, then back up to Rochester that evening after work--all on his bosses' wallet! Its going to be fun. We're planning to go over to Seneca Falls--its the anniversary of women getting the vote. Of course, we'll swing by the Wine Region and sample too!

I'm nervous about getting my hair cut today, but I always am. I pretty much get a straight cut across the bottom, a few inches off, depending on how damaged the ends are. We'll see..

Kids are back in school today. They seemed a little apprehensive but excited at the same time. Normal jitters. I am anxious to hear their stories tonight, if they will share. Probably will be more like this...
Me :"What did you do in school today?"

I feel like a new woman. Had a cut and color. Turned out rather nice, I must say. I do love to be pampered, I'm just too cheap to do it regularly. Nice to have hair all one color again, and she just took about two inches off the ends.

Ah, not everybody has the kids back to school most here start after labor day some b/c Labor day is late did start today (very few). DS being in catholic school always starts the Wed. after it is like the unwritten commandment catholic school starts the Wed. after Labor Day.... Never the Tuesday after.
Yea finally rented my reservation pts~~~today. She seems like a great person. She's excited, I'm excited its all good

so went to my ENT who discovered that I have a deviated septum. Thinking I need a sleep study (which he thinks may have the answer to why I'm cranky, exhausted, and keep waking up in the middle of the night. Not to mention having killer headaches in the morning/night.). A little worried about whats up.

Mere, a lot of people have a deviated septum and yes, it can be the cause of so many things. Have it looked into!

disney54us...yes, we're on the Wed after Labor Day schedule. My kids are in public school though, so they'll get most of September off for the Jewish holidays. My older niece/nephew went back to college already but they'll have all of next week off due to Rosh Hashana (I know I'm spelling that wrong! my friends would be appalled!), so that's why my nephew can go play with us in Rochester...

I got the same hairstyle I always get, just a little shorter. I'm very happy with the color! Its got a lot of red in it and will lighten up over the next few days. I always wanted to be a flaming redhead, but I'll have to settle for this....

Evening!!! I had to go to the doctors yesterday for my poison. I woke up and my face was all swollen. I looked like I had been in a fight. They told me they very rarely see cases like mine. They gave me a script for some prednisone for the next 2 weeks and they want to see me back tomorrow to make sure the swelling is going down. They were pretty concerned that it was close to me eyes and that I might have a secondary infection.

MK, Jackie cuts my hair and I dye it on my own. I just did it couple of weeks ago but nothing freaky this time. Just a dark auburn.

oh Jo! What terrible news! Do they think you have an infection of your poisony parts or you have an infection somewhere else! Prednisone is a steroid and has some immunosuppressive properties so be careful. Have you ever had such a serious reaction before? Feel better!

I wish I could convince someone to cut my hair! THat's why I put it off so long, I can't bear to pay for what really is just a straight cut. I just need to keep my ends healthy so I can grow it long enough to donate.

Many people have a deviated septum. That is the way so many get nose jobs and have it covered by medical insurance. Including Jen Aniston a few years back. Its been going on since I was a teen and I'm sure will continue.

I am one of those people who have it and yes I do have bad sinus problems, but I have never been told by a Dr. or ENT that I should get a sleep study. I have never heard of a connection aside from 'killer headaches' which would be when your suffering from a bad sinus infection. Exhaustion, waking up (again, unless your stuffed up) and being cranky has nothing to do with a deviated septum. So, cranky and deviated septum no connection and really you would have to have a medical history of chronic sinusitus that they could even try to connect the dots. Deviated septum is not something you develop, you have had this for years and has no correlation to being cranky.

disney54us, its the same here. My town and the next have a larger Jewish community, but the smaller school districts don't. We have a shortened spring break compared to other schools in exchange.

In graduate school, we had one Jewish classmate and I offered to celebrate the high holidays with him. He thought I was crazy, but you can't really be a solo Jewish person celebrating. He was rather impressed with my readings! And I didn't flinch when we ate the bitters.

No I know that. Should have worded that better, he says that my D.S. isn't anything that's that big a deal that needs to be fixed right away but I have been having sleep issues for a while that he told me to let him know if it wasn't improving that's all. It's been so long, that I never even thought about it when I was out pulling weeds. But I also haven't been out in an overgrown yard in a long time either. At least I know now.

Livvie starts school on Tuesday and the rest on Wednesday. They have kindergarten, 1st, 6th and 10th graders start the day before because of the big changes with those grades. Gives them a day to get everything situated with them before all the other kids get there.

oh no, Mere, its fine. If you're definitely affected most mornings than not, then maybe you should look into the surgery. It could make a world of difference and provide you some relief with good sleep....are the sleep issues just you or did it have to do with your concern with your Bf's sleep problems too?

I don't live with my BF, but when we have sleepovers, I don't sleep as well and not because of...(wink, wink). He's a terrible sleeper. I think he has night terrors. He'll sit straight up in the middle of the night, freaked out. Sometimes he does it several times a night. I've tried to get him to do a sleep study, but he's too stubborn. And I suffer with him.

Here's TMI....on our first vacay together, while sleeping he jerked his arm, his sleeve caught on my earring and nearly pulled it through. Luckily blood doesn't freak me out, coz my ear was totally nasty!

Jo: that must be so exciting the whole starting school!!!!! I start on Friday (back to the grind). Gonna miss summer, it was a fun one but seemed like it went by so quickly.

MK: I've always felt like I've had some sort of issues for a while. My mom says I'm a hardcore mover in my sleep and lots of my girlfriends when they stay the night say I wake up randomly and then go back to sleep. BF has been motivating me to be tested since he was tested cause he's afraid something may be up. He's even said he can hear my snoring all the way upstairs and we sleep in the basement!!!

JO, please tell me your houseguests have stepped up and have helped out while you're sick. I'm sure all the household stress is not helping your immune system either. Have you had any fevers or achey feelings? Or is it just the swelling?

Mere, I hope whatever is going on to cause you not get a good night's sleep in resolved quickly. Summer was really long here. We had to cancel our Disney vacation, my inlaws moved in, I have 4 kids who fight more often than not. I can't wait for school to start.

MK, Curt and I are on totally different sleep patterns and always have been. He gets up for work a little after I'm falling asleep. And he talks in his sleep. Usually about whatever he is dreaming about.

Sure have!!!! You'll never believe the deal I found on tickets for the plane!!! Went online to delta.com to find seats for our flight to the World and found a heck of a deal that we can't wait to take advantage of!!!!

Found first class seats for the two of us on a morning flight for.....$438.40 for the two of us ROUND TRIP!!!!! which if we split it up it ends up being $219.20 seperatly.
