Good morning ladies! been very busy this weekend and will continue to be for the next few days. Taking the time right now to say hello and play catch up, but it seems that everyone is busy too!
Friday went well. Dad's doing fine, although this morning he's not feeling too great. Too much excitement, I think. Its his never-ending birthday celebration! He just turned 72 and looks great. We went out to lunch Friday, at a restaurant that used to be his favorite. Its now under new management and didn't do much for him, but now we know.
We went to see Sting that night and it was fantastic! He looks really, really good for 58 and just oozes sexiness! Unfortunately, I was seated in musical purgatory. There was a pair of drunken ladies in front of me who were just inappropriately loud and rowdy. I mean, it was the London Philharmonic, not the Rolling Stones! And then, one went to get a beer and came back with men! She brought one over for her friend and they "disappeared", which I was thankful for so then I could enjoy the music!
The other man in front of me was wearing a Panama hat. In a pavillion. Under the cover of night. And in my line of sight. Was not happy with him either.
Yesterday was spent preparing for my family's sometime arrival. In the interim, I went to visit with my friends visiting from Scotland. They had a barbecue, which was yummy and it was so wonderful to spend time with them. I really have to go visit sometime!
My family arrived after six, and we went for second feeding and second celebration of Dad's birthday. My cousin has three kids, ages 11, 6, and 3 and they are wonderful! So personable and friendly. They liked riding with me in the "pink car". I'll see them later today. We're taking the morning off from being sociable. Its just so tiring!
Tomorrow I should be heading south to visit with my friend Ivy who's visiting from Samoa. We haven't ironed out those details yet, but I'm sure we'll figure it out.
Phew! I may need a nap!
Pike, congrats on the great reviews. But really, did you expect anything less than stellar? I'm sure you're the best sub they have! But sorry to hear about the new secretary.
Time and July really did fly by. I can't believe its August already.
DL....we're hoping that our rice cooker will resurrect itself. We had one cooker that lived for 20 years and since it conked out last year, we've gone through 5 others. They just don't make them like they used to. Our latest one decided not to cook the other night, so its on vacation and hopefully it will resolve its issues by itself in the cupboard. But congrats on the ice maker! What's your secret?

Sorry your concert had inconsiderate people.
Still took us almost 2 hours to pick some out.
to everyone!

I had been thinking of buying a new fridge but I guess I don't have an excuse anymore.
I need to start a thread about sneaking candy into movies! I even had water in my purse one time! I did buy the popcorn though!

With 4 kids, I've had enough poop in unlikely places to last a lifetime.
OK, not really but I can pretend for a little bit.
