Good morning ladies! been very busy this weekend and will continue to be for the next few days. Taking the time right now to say hello and play catch up, but it seems that everyone is busy too!

Friday went well. Dad's doing fine, although this morning he's not feeling too great. Too much excitement, I think. Its his never-ending birthday celebration! He just turned 72 and looks great. We went out to lunch Friday, at a restaurant that used to be his favorite. Its now under new management and didn't do much for him, but now we know.

We went to see Sting that night and it was fantastic! He looks really, really good for 58 and just oozes sexiness! Unfortunately, I was seated in musical purgatory. There was a pair of drunken ladies in front of me who were just inappropriately loud and rowdy. I mean, it was the London Philharmonic, not the Rolling Stones! And then, one went to get a beer and came back with men! She brought one over for her friend and they "disappeared", which I was thankful for so then I could enjoy the music!

The other man in front of me was wearing a Panama hat. In a pavillion. Under the cover of night. And in my line of sight. Was not happy with him either.

Yesterday was spent preparing for my family's sometime arrival. In the interim, I went to visit with my friends visiting from Scotland. They had a barbecue, which was yummy and it was so wonderful to spend time with them. I really have to go visit sometime!

My family arrived after six, and we went for second feeding and second celebration of Dad's birthday. My cousin has three kids, ages 11, 6, and 3 and they are wonderful! So personable and friendly. They liked riding with me in the "pink car". I'll see them later today. We're taking the morning off from being sociable. Its just so tiring!

Tomorrow I should be heading south to visit with my friend Ivy who's visiting from Samoa. We haven't ironed out those details yet, but I'm sure we'll figure it out.

Phew! I may need a nap!

Pike, congrats on the great reviews. But really, did you expect anything less than stellar? I'm sure you're the best sub they have! But sorry to hear about the new secretary.

Time and July really did fly by. I can't believe its August already.

DL....we're hoping that our rice cooker will resurrect itself. We had one cooker that lived for 20 years and since it conked out last year, we've gone through 5 others. They just don't make them like they used to. Our latest one decided not to cook the other night, so its on vacation and hopefully it will resolve its issues by itself in the cupboard. But congrats on the ice maker! What's your secret?

Pikester Glad they liked your subbing. I think it's good to separate siblings once in awhile. One set of grandparents would only take one grandchild at a time. It was nice not having my sibs to bother me. :lmao:

MagiKitty You tired me out just reading all that you did this weekend. :woohoo: Sorry your concert had inconsiderate people. :flower3:

Thanks DL55...I have really good seats for my concert on Wednesday--sixth row! So unless I have a 7 foot basketball player in front of me, or worse, some skinny chick on her boyfriend's shoulders, I should be able to see everything and ignore everyone else.

Afternoon all! Happy Sunday.

Another hot sticky one here. That new pool has sure been getting a work out.

We've started looking for new kitchen flooring to replace the destroyed stuff. We have hardwood floors and who ever thought looking for new stuff to replace it would be so time consuming. You know how many different types of wood there are???? I just told the guy to only show us stuff in our price range so I wouldn't fall in love w/ something I could afford. Still took us almost 2 hours to pick some out.

Hope y'all are having a good weekend!!

Congrats M&N on another win this week!!!:cheer2::cheer2: 315 pts on fantasy.

M&N Have a fun trip! I'm sure you will find something to eat. ;)

Has anyone ever have an appliance fix itself? We stopped using our ice maker a couple of years ago because there was a leak and an ice dam would form in the door dispenser. Well a few months ago it started making ice (when some one knocked the bar back down) and there hasn't been a leak. I had been thinking of buying a new fridge but I guess I don't have an excuse anymore. :rotfl:

WOW! I guess it needeed a vacation!
I guess now we need to try saying--Appliance heal thyself!

I got my sub letter saying that the "right" people at the school said that I did a great job last year so they are inviting me back to sub. Had to fill out what days I am available and send it in. Someone told me that the secretary at the school where I work was being replaced. I really hope not because I liked her and she called me for lots of jobs. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

DS9 is enjoying not having to fight over the TV and Wii with his brother. I took him to see Cat & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore in 3D. We did a no-no and snuck candy into the theater. DS9 said that he was happy they didn't have security guards there.

Got your back to school shopping started? Where has the summer gone?
Hey--we know you are the #1 sub! Just start brown nosing the new secretary!
:scared1: I need to start a thread about sneaking candy into movies! I even had water in my purse one time! I did buy the popcorn though!

Yes you are a busy little Kitty! That;s what happens when you are so popular. :woohoo: Glad Dad had a good time. It is disappointing when old favorite places change. Don't tell bf about the pickup-ladies...he may not want you to go to any more concerts! Who would not love your Kittymobile?

Thanks for the cheer D&D...cannot do that good here! I guess it helps not to pick JR! (But I didn't pick him here either--feel so disloyal!)

DC was great...very crowded. Saw lots of Phillie fans who were there for the game too. Air and Space was packed. Did see an IMAX 3D about the Hubble telescope...very neat going through the stars. Also went to the Lobrary of Congress and an art museum.

Hi everybody!

We don't sneak in candy but we never buy anything either. We figure we can handle a couple of hours not snacking. We just need to stop snacking the rest of the day. :guilty:

That's a good idea DL55. We can all benefit from less snacking.

I've snuck (is that a word??) stuff into a theater before. Mostly just candy or juice bags. Its such a robbery having to pay $8+ for a movie and then $4 for soda per person and then $7-8 for popcorn. Sheesh! No wonder we rent most of our movies.

It may be a good idea but I don't follow my own advice. :lmao:.

So I decided to be a nice mommy and let Walter play with his food tonight. So when I lifted him up out of the seat, he left some poopy in there. :confused3

Kids......

I will never forget the sound of my grandfather trying to yell to my grandmother to get in the living without actually opening his mouth. It seems my cousin decided to paint his face with the poop from her diaper. :lmao:

Evening!

Judging by the comments on the last page or 2, I think I'm glad that I've been busy. I don't think I'm sorry I've missed some poop conversation. :rotfl2: With 4 kids, I've had enough poop in unlikely places to last a lifetime.

Things with the inlaws still suck. I keep thinking if I make things miserable enough for them, they'll move out. Not likely but it's gets me through the day.

We have been working on things with Curtis and they have been nice for the past week. I know we've been there before but I have to still hope. I played badminton with just him tonight and I have to say, I kicked his butt. :rolleyes1 OK, not really but I can pretend for a little bit.

I hope everyone is well. I'll try to check in more frequently.

Hey JO---Life has to have it's ups and downs just to make it interesting! Keep thinking postively! And watch what you write here...you may get fined for speaking negatively about the family since this is a family centered board! :rotfl:

Aww, come on. I added some positive stuff to offset my negativity. :rotfl: Maybe I could only get a warning?

Just saw a thread I thought was about me! About camera crazy people---but they were taking pictures at a funeral! I thought I got caught taking a picture in the woman's bathroom in the Library Of Congress! It was so pretty---lots of marble!

Good morning ladies....finally have a day of rest. Have a lovely day of playing catch up with work planned. Must plant mu behind here at the computer and get something done!

Phone not working again. We did have storms on Saturday. I called and they did detect an issue with Verizon, not necessarily my house. But they're "committed" to fixing the problem by Friday! Another week of no phone?!

Went down to Jersey to visit with my friend Ivy from Samoa. She's just one of those friends that even though we see each other maybe once a year, we fall into old habits and just jabber all day. She was only here for four days! She's trying to get the ok to attend a conference in November, so hopefully I'll see her again there....

Glad to hear you had a wonderful time in DC M! I've never been to the Library of Congress. When we did go to the National Archives, all I kept thinking of was National Treasure! I'd like to go down and visit the Museum of the American Indian. Was the American Museum open? It was under construction last time I was there, and that's my favorite one. I'd like to take BF to visit the Holocaust musuem. Its really an amazing experience.

I've snuck candy into the movies, just coz I think its too expensive. BF and I usually share popcorn and drink. I have to have my popcorn! But we don't go to the movies that often, we can never agree on what movie to watch! We pretty much go to kids movies together, otherwise, we wait for the DVD.

Overcast today. Could totally crawl back into bed. Must not do it.
