TiW Rumor - Is it true?

Can we just buy one and mail it around to everyone else (especially us non-Floridians) when they go to DW? Or do they check IDs or something?
:rolleyes1

The person named on the TIW card needs to be a member of the dining party, and may be required to provide ID.

Well, I never have, but that's because I'm the one paying and handing over my KTTW card with my name on it as well :)

LOL,
Pay in cash next time. Make sure to act shifty and see what happens.
:lmao:

While technically not allowed my wife has used our TIW card on numerous occasions even though it has my name on it without me being present.

:rotfl:
I bet some of the Cast Members have learned not to tangle with the wives on vacation. :rotfl: Especially those of us with young kids!

I've never been asked for ID when using it for TS, but also use my KTTW card to pay. BUT, everytime (99% of the time) when I use it at CS at Pop or All Stars I am ALWAYS asked for an ID. Once I let my DD use it while I got the grandkids to the table and got waved back to the register to show my ID.

I understand that there used to be a free additional card for a spouse. It's not free any more though - its $50 (for passholders, not sure for FL residents). I wonder if it got abused somehow...

Occasionally asked for ID at TS--Tony's, Artist Point and Spoodles I can remember off the top of my head.

Always at All Stars, POP an POFQ.

I bought the TIW on 11/30/09 and it expires 12/31/10, so I got 13 months.

That's pretty normal. For whatever reason, they seem to give you a little more than 12 months, depending on when during the month you purchase it. I believe if its in the first couple weeks, then you get the rest of that month, plus 12. In the latter half of the month, you get the rest of the month plus 13. I used to think it had to do with how they processed the cards in groups, but now that they are printed on demand I'm not sure...

The TIW cards don't track your AP at all - you are just eligible to get one. You could get one on your last valid day of your AP, and it will still be good for 12+ months.

The price has gone up but there is a major change. We can now use the card on holidays. Several years ago, we were at Disney on New Years Eve and could not use the card. But this year, we used it at ESPN on New Years Eve and at California Grill on New Years Day. Even just for 2 of us, that is about half the price of the card.

just renewed mine last week, no mention of it what-so-ever and spoke to cm for a while! also, the program is now offering better special events, i can't imagine it will be phased out any time soon.

I'm not sure that's right... I asked last time I bought about this and they said the TIW would be backdated to the start of the AP. This is what the CM told me.

Nice... I didn't know they had started doing that... IT was AWESOME having one at V and A's... That discount paid for the card itself.

Well, they definitely did not backdate my TIW to my renewed AP when I last got it. The AP ran from July, but the TIW ran from November...
