TiW for DVC?

Either that or it's a new policy for 2013. So far this is the only report I've seen of someone getting an expiration date exactly 12 months out. I'll be disappointed if it's a new policy. For us the TIW at $75 (for AP holders) with the longer expiration date worked out because we used it for 3 trips. Now that it's $100 and possibly good for exactly 12 months, it probably won't work for us anymore.

Originally, the card was the Disney Dining Experience (DDE) and was typically ordered by phone and mailed to the guest. With the lag time between ordering, mailing and receiving Disney generously made the expiration one year plus the end of the following month. That policy stayed the same when the name was changed to Table in Wonderland (TIW) and was available at all guest service locations.

It appears that they may now be changing that to a 365 day limitation just like APs. Sorry to see that float month go away! Our current TIW was purchased 12/3/11 and expires 1/31/13. :(

Doc,
We bought ours on 1/14/13,and the expiration is 2/28/14 ,so it seems that the float still exists . There just doesn't seem to be any concistantcy to how they do it.

The gratuity is automatically added on TIW dining and that is based on the pre-discounted cost of the meal including alcohol. The poster is just stating that with the expense of a V&A meal they are already closer to reaching the break-even point of purchasing the TIW card. The break even is after $500 in dining costs (20% discount = the $100 cost). Many people choose to think of it as covering the gratuity they might have provided on the meal they would have enjoyed with or without the TIW card.
Thanks, I understood that part. Maybe it's the wording "so basically I'd be saving on the tip money" which I read to mean they'd be paying less on tip with the card than without. Maybe they meant they'd be saving enough to cover the tip which I considered prior to posting but maybe read the intent incorrectly.

That's the way i look at it Dean. They pay the tip and if the service is really good we add a little more to the tab.

I purchased my last TiW on July 8th 2012 and it expires on August 31st 2013. That seems to be well over 13 months. Almost 13 and 3/4 months. Got three weeks use in July, 6 days use in December and plan on using it again this coming August another 6 nights. Well worth the $75.00 at that time.

Us too George. Bought last week for just me and Dw. going in July for 7 nights with 4 adult "kids" and hopefully squeezing in an early De. trip for who knows how many.:dance3:
