TIW Expiration Date

Actually you can get up to 13 1/2 months (and change). If you renew on 8/15, the TIW card is usually good until 9/30 which is 13.5 months. A nice perk IMO.

Still hate the name though. :rotfl:

According to CF, if you buy on 8/1, it's good until 9/30 as well. YMMV. They once gave me an AP that expired the following day.

Me too.

That is great news and a change from the days we had to purchase over the phone. Just short of 14 months! Still is 13.5 months and change though.:goodvibes

There seems to be no rhyme or reason..we purchased ours on 1/8/12 and it's good through 2/19/13 :confused3

That is odd. If you will be at WDW between 2/19 and 2/28, it might be worth it to stop at Guest Services to have them check it. Perhaps the CM keyed it in incorrectly?:confused3 We've had TiW since it became available to APers in 2005 and the end date has always been the last day of the next month.

I agree - it's a manual process, just like when they issue APs and sometimes they make errors. It's hard to argue though (at least I think) that you got the "wrong" date when they don't really seem to publish the true validity period anywhere.

I'm not a big fan of it, either. I am glad they changed it from "Disney Dining Experience," because that was too confusing with the Disney Dining Plan. I guess other names like the Disney Dining Club or Disney Dining Discount Card would have had similar issues of people confusing it with DDP.

I've stopped correcting my roommate, who consistently asks me if I remembered to bring my "Alice in Wonderland" card at every single restaurant. It doesn't seem to be sinking in, so I've stopped trying.

Another question, has anyone used the card to get discounts on the Hoop de Doo Review? I believe that the only discounted show was the late one, but I wasn't sure whether that discount is still available or not.
We just did this in June, and it worked just fine for the 9:30 show. Unlike the DDP, you can select any seating tier you want. I opted for tier 1 and we got a table in the dead center of the stage.

I'm not sure if it would have been different had I made the reservation over the phone, but I used the web site. I paid the full price for the tickets at the time I booked, then stopped at the Guest Relations window at Pioneer Hall on the night of the show and showed them my TIW card. They credited the 20% back onto my credit card. (The regular HDD price includes the tip, so the TIW was a true 20% savings.)

Certainly wouldn't try arguing. However, if asked nicely I bet most GF CMs would happily change it to the usual end of the month.

That is so cute.

Good point about guests confusing DDE with DDP although I do miss the original name.

We won't...we have a trip in Jan and that's it until Nov 2013. So it doesn't effect us if they didn't put the right exp date in. I do remember the CM was "earning his ears" so perhaps it was human error. :confused3
