Can I use the TIW card for just an appetizer and drinks and still take advantage of the Free Valet parking option? I'm already on the DDP and am considering the TIW card to take advantage of Valet Parking.

Thanks!! :)

Sure you can.. We just had shakes at ESPN and used it at BWV with no problem.

We have a TIW card and I'm wondering how this works -- do we bring our receipt back when we get our car from the valet after our meal?

That's all you need to do.
But here is a suggestion--double-check your bill when you check out of your hotel. The Valet Prking is outsourced and for quite awhile, we found a Valet parking charge on our bill even tho we parked under TIW procedures. Seems they were scanning the Resort Parking Permit in our car windshield and that automatically resulted in a charge to the room.
Haven't had it happen recently, but check anyway--I do.

We have been asked to show our TIW at the Disney Resort Restaurants when we initially get out of the car also, so have that handy. The valet attendant writes down your name and number I think. Then when you are finished you need to show the valet desk attendant your receipt that shows that you used your TiW membership.
At Il Mulino at the Swan, which now accepts the TIW card, we do not need to show the TIW card because that valet service does not work with Disney's service. They will give you a 'ticket' to get stamped by your waiter. Valet parking is still a free service, if you dine at one of their restaurants, just not in conjuction with TIW. You still need to give the stamped ticket to the valet. When your waiter stamps it and you pay your bill the Il Mulino staff calls Valet Service and your car is waiting for you by the time you get to the front door of the Swan. Nice touch, I think.

We use this perk often (mostly at the GF). I agree, the valet folks are now asking that you tell them in advance that you are a TIW cardholder and they will put a special parking ticket in your car so that they know upon return. We used it 3 times in May and yes, they asked to see the receipt and card every time we returned from dining. They don't care what you buy, as long as your have a dining receipt from a restraurant at that resort. Also as mentioned, if you are a resort guest, you may STILL charged on your hotel bill, so check prior to checking out of your resort. This happened to us 3 times in the past. We now remove our resort parking pass after we go pass the guard. There is a barcode on it and no matter how many times we would tell them we had the TiW card, it would be scanned and put on our resort bill. Well they don't do it to us anymore, as we take our resort pass with US now. If they do charge you, your front desk staff can take it off your bill, but you have to have your dining receipt, so don't lose it!!!

In keeping with the spirit of this topic. I have a related question.

I'm staying at the Boardwalk resort in Sept. I have a TIW card and will use valet parking at the resort. We will probably eat at least one meal/day at the resort (we like Kouzzina for breakfast). So, how do I go about getting my free valet parking if I'm staying there. I'm pretty sure the valet will charge my room for the parking per day. Do I go to the front desk and have these charges removed by showing my receipts?

The TiW free valet service is for guests just dining at the resort restaurant not for the overnight valet service charge. You will still be charged for each 'over'night you use valet service. The previous posters were disputing double charges on their bills.

Make sure you check your bill (your room bill on your departure day) to make sure they do not charge you the valet fee...three times they have done this to me even though I clearly told them and showed them my TIW card. They will remove the charge for you.

I understand that, however, I will be having a meal at my resort and will have a receipt to prove that. They charge you $10/day regardless you're parked for 1 hour or 24 hours.

Sorry, then I really don't understand your original question. Do as others suggested and take your resort bill and TIW dining receipt to the front desk of your resort.

1. It's $12, not $10.
2. I don't think your plan is going to work because I don't think TIW provides for overnight parking.

I'll have the TiW card and my H will be meeting me at a park and then we'll hit the restaurant (I'll need it for earlier in the day). Can he valet the car at the hotel (Contemporary) and just tell them that I have the card, or do I need to meet him at valet parking? We'll be leaving together, so I'll be able to show the valet the card and the receipt.
