TiW and AP Upgrade Timing Question Please

We are going down to WDW at the end of January. I am planning on purchasing APs while we are down there, by upgrading MYW tickets I have already purchased. As we are a larger group this time (3 adult/3 kids) I think the TiW option might save up some money.

My question is, can I purchase TiW at the same time I purchase our APs? And, has anyone seen a breakdown for TiW in terms of spend vs. number of people dining, number of times to dine out to offset the price?

Yes you can buy it there when you get your AP.

The breakeven point is spending $375 in meals where you can use the card (so mainly table service locations, a few counter service/resort locations), based on $75 purchase price for an AP holder & the 20% discount you get.

18% gratuity is also added to the TiW, but I don't use that when calculating the breakeven point.
