We have TiVo too, Chris, and it is great. I watch very little TV, but do like some shows. I just program them in, watch them at my leisure when I have the time. You'll like it.
I have Comcast and I think they may offer some kind of DVR service??? I will call them today and ask before buying a Tivo. I guess that would be cheaper??

I don't have Tivo but I do have Comcast DVR. Word of warning...they hook you on it! First they got me on digital cable. Then they got me on DVR. It's like crack. Try it one time and your hooked! I can't imagine not having my DVR.

I love my TiVO! I wish I had the one that recorded two shows but I bought my receiver before it came out. I just did the lifetime because it will have paid for itself in 2 years.
I did not go with DVR through my cable service because I do not have, nor do I want digital cable for an extra $30 a month (I have basic cable) just to be able to get their DVR service (another $10 a month). So I'm saving about $40 a month with TIVO.
Right now Comcast has their own DVR service they created. However there have been several announcements that starting this year it will be tivo service built into the cable box. I haven't heard anything recent but the last I did hear it would be later this year. We currently have an 80hr tivo with a DVD burner which we love. I think the only negative thing I can see about getting the box from the cable co. is that they do not have the DVD burner which is great for us. We tivo every Disney World show we see and have about 10 of them on DVD now. Its great!
