Is there any thing less exciting to spend lots of money on than tires? And what a frustrating shopping experience. The Firestone guy I was just on the phone with was really aggravating me with all his tire lingo and questions. I knew the size and number for the tires, and all I wanted was the price for 4 of them installed .

I have a local place that I go to that's been around forever....they are very pacient with my million and one questions that I ask.

That is such a beating!!!
I hate it. Nothing sucks worse than shelling out for car parts/repairs.

Go to websites. www.discounttire.com www.firestone.com
You put the sizes in there and they will give you a drive out price.

I share your pain.

Thanks, Nebsky, for the websites and the empathy :). The Discount Tires site is quite user-friendly and helpful.

Your welcome. BTW, after doing the search on the website, call your local discount tire. Tell them what you found on the website. Sometimes to get your business, they will knock some of the price off.

I did that back in Dec. Needed tires on my Accord and Montero Sport. Both cars 4 new tires each for alot less than was posted on the website. No pun intended here, but wheel and deal with them.

Good luck and hi neighbor. Did I meet you at the Dismeet at Grapevine Mills in May?

Last year I had to replace my 2 front tires because of unusual wear(car was only one year old)...Each cost $200!!!

Last week i got a notice from Nissan stating that the unusual wear might have been caused by a defective mounting angle-some engineering mishap....(I'd gotten a previous letter to have the angle adjusted at the dealer)....so i might get most of the cost of my tires back!!! :teeth:

ScarlettO - That's a great surprise! I hope you get a few hundred dollars back :).

Nebsky - I sent you a PM.

I know how frustarting it is to shop for products you don't have a comfortable feeling w./
I bought a new car yesterday and it had an "Extra Mile Protection" package w/ it. It includes tires all through 100,000 miles. Yeah! No dealing w/ Sears again!!!

Congratulations on the new car! This has turned into a regular DFWer's thread. I met you at the Rainforest meet, too, but I don't know if you know me by this DIS name. My mom and I sat across from you, and your husband sat next to me. Your little m's are precious :).

I'm never sure if people know me by this user name (I used to go by something else) - and I'm ready for another meet, too ::yes::.
