Hi Ladies and gents,

We are getting married in 24 days and we are clueless as to WHO we should tip/ HOW MUCH we should tip them and WHEN we should tip them... Can anyone help? Are we "required" to tip some, but not others? Is it better etiquette to give gifts to some? If so, HOW MUCH or what type of gifts are appropriate?

This is pretty much everyone involved in our wedding...

Pam Pearce - Coordinator
Celeste DiCicco - Planner
Linda Rhodes - Assistant Planner

Misty Miotto - Photographer

Patricia LeJuene - Hair (for 3 people) and Makeup (for 6 people)

Rev. Kevin Knox

Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks !!!:flower3:

HI Nikki, Wow It is getting close! Sorry I cant help, but just this morning I thought of the same thing!

The rule of thumb is not to tip people who own their businesses (e.g., the photographer)..... except that for some reason hair/makeup artists usually get tips.

20% is a good amount for most stuff, and a $20 bill or more for the limo driver. People generally tip officiants $50-$100.

You don't have to get your planner or coordinator anything. If you want to it's usually a small gift or a gift card. But it's not, like, an unspoken rule that you have to give them something.

HTH! :thumbsup2

Personally, I don't think it's "required" to tip anyone. You are paying them for their services, however, I understand that's not how everyone thinks;)

Disney employees really are not supposed to take tips, you can offer them gifts if you would like and they are usually able to accept these.

As to how much, I would think 10-20% is usually customary.

I know this line of thinking is controversial and I agree with you. Other than waitstaff, I think anyone who is being paid a living wage for a service shouldn't be tipped. I think the whole idea of tipping is out of control in this country. ;) I still do it because it's customary but I don't agree with it.

Thank you for asking! We're only 18 days out now :scared1: and I was thinking the same thing the other day but forgot to ask it!

Yep, it is so close! I'm so excited! Soon you will be 24 days away from your wedding too, it's just around the corner.

Thanks Carrie!! I think I may just give the Rev. and Patricia a tip. Maybe :confused3 I may change my mind at the last minute!

Hiwaygal and Mermaid Ariel - I agree with you both. But I still have to figure out if I want to do what is customary or not. :confused3

You're welcome!! Congrats, I've read your PJ and can't wait to see your pics. If Chris and I were heading down for our wedding just 2 days earlier, we would have been able to lurk at your wedding. :sad2:
