How are people dealing with new tip issue on the DDP are people carrying cash or just charging the tips to the room?

I brought cash for tips in Jan.... DH thought I was crazy but I actually figured out where/what we would be eating (easy because we eat at buffets most of the time) and calculated a 20% tip for each place... Then I went to the bank and got a bunch of small bills.... I paper-clipped each meal's tip and placed the money in my day-bag each morning... I was right on the money for every meal...

I plan to bring a bunch of small bills again and keep the money aside for tips... I don't know if I will figure out the exact tip amounts again...That was a lot of work (but it did make it easy when we were there).

Does anyone know if we can use a Disney gift card or our Disney rewards card for tips?

One of the big advantages of staying on site is being able to charge everything to the room. We will be paying for our tips and and any appetizers we order by charging to our room.

I've heard you can use either of those....

-gift cards/ disney dollars
-disney rewards

Although I have not done it myself. Hoping it is true, because I am hoping to do this in Sept.

You can charge to your room. BUT, in Jan, when my BIL and SIL went, they were double charged for everything. Since they used their Visa Debit Card, DIsney had to also promise to pay for any bank overdraft charges that they might incur. Disney did fix it, but that's a stress I don't want. I'll be saving receipts and paying out cash.
