tips needed to book condo

I am going trough HomeAway.com. Any suggestions to make this a success? I am a little wary. I have found a place I like and plan to call tomorrow to see how they want me to pay..this is suggested on their website. Will they mail me a contract? Any fine print I should check specifically watch for?

Im not much help, I have rented twice through home away, Both times I recieved contract through email, I printed, signed and faxed it back. Paid both thru pal pal, One had added fees for using credit card I think they lived in England. They prefered certified check but I prefer using credit card for travel expenses or internet purchaces. Just make sure to read cancelation policy. Some will let you rebook if you need to cancel some do not.

I, too, have used HomeAway and Flipkey without a hitch.

Last year we basically purchased a timeshare owner's points for Cypress Pointe Grande Villas. Everything was as smooth as can be and within minutes after we booked, I called CPGV and the rez was there. All for $69 nite.

We're doing a 4br/3 in a couple days for $62 nite and we received contracts through e-mail and paid through PayPal. Everything, too, as smooth as can be. Plus, they are a well-rated provider on Flipkey. And that helps.

One suggestion: if it takes more than 2 days for someone to get back to you, I would be less likely to book. Even the owners I have dealt with in the UK are so prompt and respond in less than a day. And I think that speaks to reputability.
