We will be taking my two DDs, 6 and 4, to Disney in a few weeks :woohoo: . My youngest definitely needs a stroller. The older will probably use one if it is available (like if the younger is already sitting in it), but I don't think she will be in it too often. We've thought of renting the strollers at Disney, but I think it will be cheaper to buy two umbrella strollers, plus I will have them for the hotel and airport. Does anyone know of good cheap umbrella strollers and where to buy? Is there such a thing as a "double" umbrella stroller for 2?

Thanks for your help!!!

I've seen clips that could join two identical umbrella strollers together.

also something to think about when we went in Dec with my son (4 at the time) I had purchased a rain cover for his stroller it was clear heavy plastic that slipped right over the stroller with the suncover up and it had air holes in the back and the bottom was open but when it rained and I put it on and he stayed nice and dry and see everyone commented on what a great idea it was. I just googled stroller rain covers and it was like $15. I just threw it in the basket under the stroller.

I just researched umbrella strollers myself as well. Check toysRus online. They had a bunch of Umbrella strollers for under $20. Many of them with a storage bag and a mini visor on top to keep sun out of their eyes. Hope this helps.

Only 20 more days until the Poly in WDW! :yay:

I found an umbrella stroller at WalMart for $20 with a sun shade, basket under it and it reclines (slightly). They were a clearance item. I bought two as my DD's are 5 & 3 and had the same thoughts as you for the hotel and airport. At work, can't remember the name right now, will check at home and post later if you are interested.:goodvibes

They'e cheap and available at Toys 'R 'Us and WalMart. The rain cover is a great idea... I will keep that in mind!

Another great idea is using those cloth bags that lawn chairs come in. The stroller fits perfect in them and you can sling it over your shoulder when you don't need it.

Target has double umbrella strollers with sunshades, reclining seats and baskets for under a hundred dollars. If you want to go really inexpensive, I've bought umbrella strollers at Wal Mart for under $12, but they had no perks.

Kolcraft has an inexpensive double umbrella stroller:

Jeep also has one:

You can also find a ton of cheap, like $20 umbrella strollers all over like at Walmart, Babies R Us, Toys R Us and more. You can get 2 and just use the connecters they sell:

We always have a stroller for the kids when they were younger, DS still will have one at age 4. We always bring our own because it is more comfy and we get to use it at the airport, hotel, DtD and it just is so great to have! We now have the Mac Triumph for DS and we love it but it might be more than you want to spend. We have had a Kolcraft in the past and it held up very well. I would go with getting that double stroller. It's a great price and it has reclining seats, canopies, gear bags, and cup holder!

Also, if you head over to the families board and do a search you will find so much stroller info it will make your head spin!!LOL

I have a Maclarean (sp?) Volo stroller and while it is not cheap at $100, to me it is worth the price if only for the added height of the stroller. Those of you who have spent alot of time pushing around a too short cheap stroller understand the lower back pain that can cause. My chiropracter is $60 a trip, so it doesn't take much to justify the cost of a a taller stroller. I am only 5'6".

Our Volo is mesh - so it can be hosed off if it gets dirty. Also it dries quickly if it gets wet. On top of all that, it handles great. The narrow wheel base is great in stores or crowded areas. It folds up really small and comes with a shoulder strap so you can carry it over your shoulder without bringing along an extra bag as a PP mentioned. Finally, since your kids are older, it has pretty good resale value so you can recoup part of your investment when you get home!

A 6 yo in an umbrella stroller might be tough. We had the Kolcraft double stroller, and loved it, but once the twins turned 3 yo it was difficult for DH to push (6'3" and 210 lbs), and almost impossible for me to push. Test drive before you buy!
