In an effort to get DD to finish cleaning out her room, I've offered to give her 50% of the proceeds of selling all her AG stuff on Ebay. She's got tons! A couple bitty babies, a couple of the older "historic" girls, Kayla the surfer girl, another girl that I need to look up her name ( A modern girl who is Hispanic looking? ) all kinds of outfits and the horse.

So my question is, do I sell all this stuff individually? Do I make a huge lot or a couple big lots? What's the best way to clear all this stuff out?

Tia.

You will probably make the most money selling the dolls and outfits individually, but don't sell the doll naked (they should be wearing something). Things that aren't in great condition can be put together as lots (they aren't as likely to sell by themselves).

The problem with that is it is a lot of extra trouble to box it individually and you pay more in paypal fees since you have multiple buyers and more per transaction expenses.

I would list the doll, then each of their outfits, then the next doll, then their outfits and put in the listing that their clothes are available in another auction and you will combine shipping for multiple wins. That way, the person who won the doll (if they are at the computer at the end of the auction) may be inspired to bid on the clothing as well.

Be sure to include good pictures and descriptions so buyers know what they are getting. Also, use delivery confirmation if you use USPS and build insurance into the shipping cost of anything fragile. Saying insurance is optional, but available won't help. If the buyer complains that something arrived broken, paypal will side with them even if they declined the insurance, so make sure to insure it. I ship larger (3 or more pound) packages using FedEx or UPS Ground instead of the post office. By the time you pay insurance for post office, it is often cheaper.

Good luck.

You could also try to list them on AG Playthings, lots of collectors on there. Check the board first to get an idea of what things are selling for. That way you would avoid all the ebay fees.

Good Luck!

I would also suggest Craigslist. There are no fees at all to list and you can usually do local pickup so no shipping fees. I know that I check Craigslist every day looking for AG stuff for my dd ;)

I suggest listing the dolls separate with an outfit that would be hers (if it's not the original meet outfit).

I also think you would get more for the outfits by selling those in lots but its worth going onto AGplaythings and making sure outfits are as complete as possible and selling items for the one girl together.

For instance you mention the surfer girl. that was a LE doll named Kailey. you may want to include any of her LE things with her. it will increase the value of what you are selling as it's the collection.

So what i was saying above is let's say you have a Kirsten historical doll. I would try to have her in her orginal outfit as one listing and then have any Kirsten outfits and acessories as another listing.

Good luck! DD has a few dolls as well. I don't think i wuold sell all of them but am thinking about selling 1 or 2 that were not her favorites.

My suggestion is to be sure you've done your research. For instance I just won Kailey with an OG armchair for a great price. The seller had her listed as an OG doll ( Our Generation- the 18" knock-offs that are sold at Target ). I happened upon the listing when I was searching for furniture, but the seller would've gotten a much higher final bid if people who were searching for "Kailey" had seen the listing. Know the going prices by searching for recently completed auctions for what you are selling and start the bidding with the lowest price that you are willing to accept to avoid disappointment if people don't bid up to what you want. You can always do a BIN with a "make an offer" feature and set the offer price at what you want to accept. Try to have your auction end at a time when people are home to bid, which means usually evenings ( and consider you'll have bidders from coast to coast). It's best not to have your auction end on a Wed. or Friday night when people are often out and about.---Kathy
