We are going to WDW on October 18. What kinds of things do I need to pack? Bug spray? What type of clothing will we need? Will we need a daytime and evening outfit? I have no clue where to start packing. HELP!

October usually has perfect weather. It's warm enough to swim in the daytime (without being too hot), and cool enough at night for maybe a light sweater. More importantly, pack your most broken-in walking shoes.

The only time I've ever noticed mosquitos at WDW was when we stayed at AKL, but I wouldn't imagine you'd need bug spray at any of the other resorts.

last Oct. we need bug spray at MNSSHP.
we also need sweatshirts for some of the evenings ( even it is not to cold outside sometimes the restaurants have the A/C very cold )
and most importantly for us we need UMBRELLAS. it rained everyday for some portion of the day, it did not spoil the days at all just meant we need to have an umbrella or poncho on hand.

I love Oct. to go to WDW. we will be there this Oct, from the 4th to the 13th.

I've never needed bug spray in October, and that is the only time of year I go. We didn't need a jacket, either. It was nice at night, and 80's during the days. We swam every night around 11, and the only problem we had was being a little chilly when we were wet after swimming & walking back to the room.

I've gone twice in the past 3 years during October, and had rain maybe 10 minutes out of 13 days total. But be prepared for anything. It can get hot, it can get chilly, it can be dry, and there can be a hurricane!!!!

We have been the last two Octobers... first was mid-month... the last at the end of the month...

The mid-month trip was gorgeous weather... never needed a sweatshirt or bug spray.

The end of the month trip... we NEEDED both!! It was so chilly one night in MK that they made a killing on selling sweaters and sweatshirts for those of us snowbirds that got caught without them! The bugs were horrible during the Haloween night MNSSHP as well.

With that said... weather patterns seem to be changing so I say be prepared for anything! :umbrella: :cold:

Did Oct 14-24 last year...Don't know what the temperature was, but it was perfect, no need for the noontime break to escape the heat....only needed a sweat shirt one night that was because we did a birthday cruise to watch the nighttime fireworks at MK (Note: I'm for the New England, Oct starts getting quite cold then, and as a result we might have been a little better acclimated to cooler weather)
