Tips for Booking BWV at 7 months?

DS and I are hoping to book a quick trip down to the World Oct 9-16th. We would like to stay at BWV in a studio (ideally standard view) but our home resort is SSR so we will be trying to book next month at the 7 mo window for BWV. I am wondering if anyone has any tips to improve our chances?

Not to burst your bubble, just warning you that a standard view isn't likely. I called 1 week after the opening of the 11-mo. window for the exact same time and std. view studios were all gone. The good news---it's a big resort and surely you will be able to get a preferred view room.

Thanks for the heads up. I actually just remembered the DIS thread to check on availability of certain room types for certain dates, so I will check that as well. I know my time is during F&W so it will likely be a bit tight at the Epcot area resorts. Thanks.

We are going the same week and hope to book a 2 bedroom at BLT, BCV or BWV. I'm anticipating needing to waitlist. This is our first time going during the F & W festival and we would like to be close by if possible. Our baby is going off to college and this is my attempt to keep my mind occupied by having a trip to plan and look forward to for us empty nesters! Good news for OP and me is we will not be trying to get the same room types at the same time. I wish you luck!

Call at 9 am. I have usually been able to get a studio preferred view ( note not standard or Boardwalk view) during Food and Wine. Some years Beach Club was a possibility, others it was not.

OP, you may be able to get a studio preferred view, but not standard. I own at BWV and today I tried to get a studio standard for Nov. 7-12 and had to waitlist. I should've called at the 11 month window, but just decided to extend a trip and while it is 9 months away, I was still out of luck. I asked how many days were not available out of the 5 and he said only ONE day was available. Of course preferred was open, but I decided to wait until the 7 month window and try elsewhere, but did waitlist in case someone at the 7 month window moves out of the standard, at least I'm ahead of the 7 month window folks.

That board is pretty much worthless to determine what is available. It only lists dates members on this board reported to it as not available. There is no connection to the actual reservation system.

We stay at BWV the first weekend in November (last weekend of F&W) for my birthday every year. We have had no problem scoring BW each of the last 3 years. I think one year we had to waitlist, but it came through a couple months later. Not sure if your week in Oct is any higher demand, but thats been our experience...

Last year I got lucky and got a standard view studio for Halloween weekend for 3 nights - I was less than 3 months out when I booked. You never know unless you try.

I am lucky because F&W is a week later this year than last, I just got 2 standard view Studios at BWV at the 7 month mark for Sept 18-25...sounds like once F&W hits it's much harder though...BUT you never know...I seriously doubted my ability to get the 2 studios at 7 months based on things I had read here!

Yes it's possible because lots of folks book their home at 11 months and at the 7 month window they like to switch to another resort. When they do they free up the rooms in the resort you may be waitlisted for.

If you want to book a resort you DO NOT own points at, you can't do that until 7 months from the check in day. If you own points at a certain resort you can call 11 months from the checkin day.
