tips for a successful garage sale?

Any yard/garage sale professionals out there? I'm participating in a community yard sale hosted by a local church. Any tips on making my stuff move or seem attractive. tips on how to price well?

I have the usual assortment of things.
-mens football jerseys
-young mens south pole jeans
-A few point and shoot digital cameras
-crystal vases and picture frames
-various household goods.

I do also have a few waterford crystal water goblets that I recieved as a wedding gift 23 years ago scared1 I never use them but see them in the fine china departments at stores. Are these a good item to sell?

Have a rack to hang the clothes on. Make sure everything has been laundered and isn't ripped/stained.

Organize your items on your table so all the household stuff is together, all the china/glass is together, etc.

Put price tags on everything and price it to sell. I was at a yard sale over the weekend that high prices on everything and no one was buying (that I saw). There was no way I was paying $30 for a kids winter coat at a yard sale when I could buy one at the LL Bean outlet for $20.

No. A Flea Market or Craigslist is the way to go on those (Unless you are just trying to get rid of them. The goal of a purchaser of those items would be someone who is going to resell them).

As far as pricing, clothes need to be priced right if you want to move them.

What kind of football jersey's? Are you talking jersey's that cost 80.00 or 40.00 (bought price)? You might be able to price them at 10.00 if they look like they are not "worn".

The jeans probably 3.00-5.00, unless they are very worn, then you are looking at 3.00/2.00.

A camera is better suited for Craigslist, but you can try and sell it.

Vases and frames are hard to sell and if you just are looking to get rid of them then you can put 10 cents on them to ditch them.

Now as far as household goods, kitchen items are your best sellers. I don't care HOW old or ruined that cookie sheet is. It seems to sell it better.

If you have garage, computer, items or gadgets they are great for selling. Men go to these things too.

If you really really want to get rid of clothing, price it cheap. And I mean cheap. I wouldn't sell a pair of jeans for more than $2. Heck, I sold some young men's jeans for $1 and people were really debating over that. If you price them cheap, people won't buy just a single pair of jeans, but a pile. That's just my opinion. I sell clothing at garage sales mostly to get rid of it, not to get my money back on it, you know? We have a significant Amish population around here, too, and those ladies are out early and they will buy TONS of clothing if it's cheap enough. I love them!

We always sell hot dogs and sodas too - we made more $$$ from that than anything.
