Hey WDW DISers :) So my trip for the Princess Half is quickly approaching and I wanted to find out what you think I MUST see, eat, and do while I am at the WDW. I will have half of Friday, all Saturday, and about 4-5 hours on Sunday to see the various parks. Also, since I need a great, healthy meal for Saturday night, what would you recommend?

Oh wow!!

You have the whole WDW at your fingertips!!

List all your must do's , then your want-to-dos, then decide if that is REALLY what you want

I would be at Epcot, have Soarin' , have another Henna Tattoo in Morrocco, go to UK and see if Tigger is about , go toAK and do Safari, and wander round, and back to Epcot and back to WS and chat to CM's in their language

I am SUCH a geek!

AND EDITING TO ADD - A segway - I want to do a segway in Epcot at (imaginations?) the place where kids think they are having fun but really they are being entertained till the grown-ups are done!

Thanks Baloo!

I have been on Soarin' here in California enough times to not want to go on it again. Is it different in Florida?

From what is said on the boards, it is the same but not as good in Florida - but for me I still find it amazing (I'm from the UK)

But you have to find YOUR must-do rides/experiences

If you are a DLR regular, then spend more time at Epcot, AK and DHS.

Hydroguy on the DIS Disneyland board has a thread for DLR vets going to WDW, but I can't find it. You could also post on the DIS Disneyland board and someone will direct you to it.

Hopefully you are staying onsite, if you are, then find out which parks are open late on Friday and Saturday. Personally, I would spend all of Saturday in the Epcot area. You can see both DHS and Epcot. Lots of eating choices in that area in and out of the parks.

We're DLR vets. We make sure we ride Expedition Everest and the Safari, watch the Nemo and Lion King show in AK. My DH loves the Indy show in DHS. In the MK, we always go to Phllarmagic, a great attraction that is not in Disneyland. We love Epcot, although we usually skip Soarin'.

Soarin' is the same in FL as in CA so you can skip it for sure. But explore the rest of Epcot! The rest of Future World is great and World Showcase is perfect for a solo traveler. You could have dinner at Tutto or Via Napoli Saturday if you want to carbo load though I know not all runners do that. In that area (Epcot resorts that is), Flying Fish is an excellent place to have a great, not too heavy meal. AK and HS both have so much to offer that you wont find in DL. How fun, enjoy your trip! And it's incredibly cool that you're running that race!

It's funny, I wasn't planning to go to Epcot since they don't seem to have as many rides, but everyone I talk to is telling me to go. There must be something in the international water....

Epcot is my favorite park. It's beautiful, spacious and has variety with Future World and World Showcase. Because of it's size, it can have immense amounts of people and not feel that crowded. Unless you're trying to leave right after Illuminations!;)

I personally love EPCOT, especially if you haven't been before. I just did DLR by myself and it was great. I loved going wherever I want and it is easy to get a seat for one at most restaurants.

EPCOT some rides. Some are not "adult" rides, per se, but still fun: Figment, Nemo, Mexican river boat cruise, and maybe Norway. I also love the behind the scenes boat ride through the gardens, etc. It is in the same pavilion as Soarin'. Test Track is really fun and they have a single rider line that gets you through pretty fast.

I just like walking around the countries and people watching.

For the first time ever, I'm going to WDW alone...well, for 1 day anyway..meeting up with my sister...anyway, it took some time to decide, but my 1 free day, I've decided to go to EPCOT. I have a list of my must do's and I don't think I will have trouble getting them done. After that, depending on how much time I have left (have to be back to the off property resort by 4 or so to meet up with my sis) I might jump on the monorail and go into the MK for a little while and do some things that I know she won't want/or can't go on. I'm really looking forward to it..I was nervous at first, being alone, but then I realize that I can go at my own pace and do what "I" want...

Do what YOU want to do. That's the best thing about solo trips! No disputes about which attraction to see next, or what kind of food to eat - you do what you want when you want. On my solo trip last month, I spent a lot of time people watching, just because I could. I spent time enjoying and exploring my resort and enjoying the recreational opportunities there, because I could. You know which parks are your favorites, and which attractions are your favorites, and you should enjoy them.

One thing I enjoy as a solo are taking the tours. Those can be very interesting, and there are a variety of topics.

Be warned - it's very easy to get spoiled by taking solo trips. I actually prefer to go by myself than to go with friends/family.
