TIPS...bottom line..

Can someone please clarify for me what the total figure is for a 4 night cruise for 2 adults. I want to go immediately to GS and have them charge it to our KTTW card and be done with it. Of course we will then add for the exceptional service we are sure to receive but I want to get it out of the way. Do I just tell them to do the rec amount and they divy it up? How does that work? I don't want to even be thinking about math while on my vacation!

Jenn - look in the little booklet that your tickets were in. One of the pages spells out the tipping for you. Yes you can go right to guest services and tell them those are the amounts you want for your tips.

Jenn, For a 4 night cruise tips will be $ 87.50. You can call DCL and pre pay tips also.

I'm beginning to believe that tipping the DCL staff is becoming more of a "secret" not to be known before leaving on your cruise. The reason I say this is that I've just been to the DCL website and have searched for: tipping, tipping guidlines, suggested tips, tip and have come up with NOTHING relevant (check the FAQ and there is no mention of them there!).

I wanted to help the OP by breaking out the amount of tips by position (and to update my records - which currently don't include the tips by position by lenght of cruise).

Sorry. Go to DCL web site and click on FAQ, next select from the list of categories, "Services & Amenities." There you will find the FAQ "What about gratuities?"

The information in the "envelope" provides me with reading material during our drive from Texas to Orlando.

THANKS. Should have gotten out the Thesaurus. I had every word for tip but gratuity!
