I plan on tipping the housekeeping on our trip, can someone please let me know if I'm supposed to tip on the following. We don't get out much and I'm not sure what's the norm ;) Thanks!

1. Do I tip the Magical Express Driver when he puts our stroller under the bus? Do I tip when he gets it back out?

2. Do I tip the desk that I pick up the Garden Grocer groceries from?

3. Do I tip when they bring our Magical Express luggage to our room?

4. This is our first Magical Express experience, but if I'm understanding right, we check our bags in at the hotel before we leave for the airport? Do I tip someone in that situation?

Besides restaurants, anything else I'm forgetting? We're staying at Art of Animation.

There is no " norm" and there are no " supposed to" rules. You will get many different opinions on these tipping situations:

My opinion only is as follows A dollar or 2 to the DME driver when he gives you your stroller back. If he's handling other luggage of yours I think a dollar per bag is fair. ( once not loading on and off the bus )

The desk that holds your food delivery No.

The luggage person bringing your stuff to your room you may not even see them. When I have been there I handed the person a few dollars.

Dropping the luggage off for DME No.

I tip the ME bus driver a couple dollars when he drops us off cause I always have a bag under the bus (carryon only packer). Other than that I wouldn't tip in the situations you mentioned.

Number 4 depends on whether or not you are doing airline check in. If so the person taking your bags should be treated as though he were picking them up at the airport curb. In this case he should be tipped a few dollars.

If you are just leaving the bags for a few hours while you go to the park and plan on picking them up when you leave then no tip is needed.

If he handles your luggage, then tip when you arrive at your destination and he retrieves it for you. You do not tip when he takes your luggage.

2. Do I tip the desk that I pick up the Garden Grocer groceries from?
You will be picking up from bell services and you should tip them.

3. Do I tip when they bring our Magical Express luggage to our room?
You may not see them. They will place your luggage in your room if you are not there. If you are there, a few dollars wouldn't hurt.

4. This is our first Magical Express experience, but if I'm understanding right, we check our bags in at the hotel before we leave for the airport? Do I tip someone in that situation?
Yes! They are providing the same service as the curbside check-in at your airport would. They are not Disney employees. They are employed by BAGS, much like the DME drivers are not Disney employees. (They are employed by Mears.)

-if you check your carry on bags with bell services on your last day
-if you valet park your car
-cab drivers
-bartenders and waitstaff in bars (including poolside bars)

I have never tipped the people at the DME luggage check in when leaving for the airport. I didn't think this was a tipping position as that is their job.

I completely agree!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
thank you for typing it all out for me;)

I also want to add, we called and had our delivery sent to the room. We tipped when it go there. (It was just beer and wine from another service) They forgot one thing and sent it the next day. We tipped bell service for holding it (and putting it the fridge to stay cold!) when we went and picked it up. The tip to the actual service was added to the credit card prior to the delivery.

Thanks everyone! I just didn't want to end up being the rude person that didn't tip because I was uninformed...

Last time I was at POFQ I had a case of water delivered via Walmart. com. The woman who delivered it to our room would not accept a tip. (They will only deliver items like that to your room when you are there.)

I don't tip when the take the luggage, but I do when the get it out for us (usually the same person). I am pretty sure there are signs in the buses that say gratuities are appreciated.

Just like it's everyone else's job such as the valet who parks your car or the server who brings your food? If you tip the skycap at the airport when he checks your luggage in at the curb, why wouldn't you tip the RAC (not DME!) person who checks your luggage through to your airline at your resort? Like I said before, they ARE NOT Disney employees! They are employed by BAGS, just like the DME drivers ARE NOT Disney employees.
