I was about to place an order from garden grocer when at checkout there was a box that said tip "for your personal shopper, delivery driver, (and I think one more person)". I didn't send my request as I am doing GG to save money my next trip and there's already a $12 delivery fee. If you have to tip these other people, it might not save me that much after all??? What do you guys generally tip when you're placing your order? I've never done this before and just wondering if I should stick to snacks in the parks. TIA if you can help!

I generally tip only the delivery person when ordering groceries.

I also tip when the groceries are delivered.

One time I ordered and didn't include a tip, the groceries were brought to my room, and then I tipped the driver.

The second time I included the tip with the original order and made certain I was in my room during the allotted time window (came back to the room from the parks without my family) and the groceries never showed up. I called them after waiting 2 1/2 hours and they told me they left them with the front desk. So I ended up tipping AGAIN because I had to call bell services to deliver my groceries.

I don't know if that is coincidence or not, but from now on, I only will tip the driver if he brings them to my room.

The do charge a $12.00 delivery fee, and I am sure the groceries have an upcharge on them already.

I did add a small tip when I ordered, and then tipped the guy who actually brought the groceries to the room since they had been left with bell services. It is a great time saver to have the stuff delivered to you rather than having to use park/resort time to head to the grocery, shop, come back and carry them up then put them away. This is one "luxury" that I allow myself on Disney trips- garden grocer!

You might want to do a search because last week there was a long thread about Garden Grocer, them coming to rooms when it is against Disney policy, and that they were asking for double tips(? - one when they delivered when it was already included in the purchase price). I am not familiar with Garden Grocer but you might want to check out that other thread. I think it was started by Candian Guy. Good luck!

Garden Grocer left our order with the CBR bell services. I called Bell Services when we got to the room and they brought it to us. I tipped the guy $5.00 for our case of water, case of Cokes and two bags. I was told to tip like you would do luggage....$1 to $2 per bag.

I was thinking the thread started by Canadian Guy was relative to We Go Shop not Garden Grocer.

I had no problems whatsoever when I ordered from Garden Grocer. Even though we drive and have a car at our disposal, I didn't want to spend precious vacation time doing grocery shopping. We did it for years and hated doing it.

I went to www.gardengrocer.com and placed my order. It was very simple to do and they have a long list of resorts that they deliver to. I put in Caribbean Beach Resort and the address immediately popped up. I also entered the date and an approximate time we would be arriving. It asked that we provide a telephone number and I gave them my husband's cell since we knew that he would have it on during the drive to Disney. The only requirement was that you order at least $40.00 of groceries and they added a delivery fee which I think was $12.00 or $13.00.

When we were about an hour away from Disney, Garden Grocer called and asked if we had checked in yet. We told then that we had been stuck in traffic due to an accident. They said they would leave our items with Bell Services at the CBR.

I checked into the resort and went to our room. Once we were situated, I called Bell Service and they brought our items to our room. The items that needed refrigerated were kept in the refrigerator by Bell Services. I ordered a case of water, some Cokes and two bags of groceries.

I had absolutely no problems at all. I intend to use them again for our May, 2010 trip.

I'll have to see if I can find the We Go Shop thread posted by Canadian Guy. I don't remember seeing it on the last couple of pages.

Thanks for the compliment on the trip report. We simply love the CBR and can't wait to go back!

Thank you for the link..I will definitely be ordering from them. We are in Houston but have decided to fly down this year (didn't fancy sitting 16 hours in a car with a 2 year old!!!) so I want to travel as light as possible. I will probably get the bulky things like diapers, juice, cheerios, milk and water etc from them...we are like you, we dont want to spend our precious time in a grocery shop! And you know I was checking their prices..they are cheaper than here in Houston!! many thanks again..

We didn't think the Garden Grocer prices were too bad either.

Thanks for posting this thread, I was also curious about tipping. I placed my order yesterday and did not include a tip. The prices are a little inflated but not too bad (esp considering the location) and there was already a delivery fee. I figured we'd tip the person when they dropped off the groceries. We should be in our room.
