hi,
last trip was the first time i had help in handling my luggage, we stayed at csr and they drove us in a little cart to our room and handled our luggage for us. we had a very 'new' employee and i tipped him $5.00. he seemed very pleased. i have read here that some people tip 2.00 for this service, and wondered what is the norm? also, for my upcoming trip i am considering switching resorts midway through my trip and as i won't have a car will need to let disney transfer my luggage. do i tip someone at both resorts, and how much? thanks for your opinions:D

The norm is to tip $1-2 per bag to each person who handles your luggage, so yes, you would tip the person who you give your bags to at the first resort, and then the person who brings the bags to you at the second.

Tipping $5 seems pretty low. How many bags did he handle? I tip $20 every time a bellman takes my bags to my room and to the car at check out. I tip $5-10 to the person that actually puts the bags into my car or takes the bags out. We usually have 8 bags. That included 3 suitcases, beach bags, some bottled water, and so on. I have never switched resorts mid vacation but would treat it the same way.

At any hotel or resort, I usually tip about $2.00 per bag.

I've never switched resorts 1/2 way through, but I would tip at both.

Have a wonderful trip!!

When we went to the HRH last year. Someone took our bags out of the car and then another guy met me in the lobby and took the bags to the room. I don't remember what I tipped but I remember tipping each guy.
In a case like this , what would you do, tip $1 per bag per guy??? If you tipped more than that it would get expensive, especially if you switch hotels mid trip. The last 2 vacations we stayed at 3 hotels each time. Tips can all add up!

I tip both, and factor in the cost of tipping when thinking about changing hotels mid-stream.

thanks everyone,
we had 3 bags last trip, we carried our own "carry on" bags...so at $1 or $2 a bag we weren't too far off. geez skiwee1 , i would love to tip $20.00 but in canadian funds that's 30.00 + everytime someone helps with my luggage:eek:  :D i will only have 2 bags on my next solo trip so i think i'll tip $2.00 each bag to each person who handles.

thanks again for the opinions. i really appreciate them. one less thing to stress about;)
