There is another thread on this board about tipping with the MYW Dining plan where folks are discussing wether or not to tip above the included (15%)tip. My question relates to tip-out policies. Are you as waitstaff required to tip out a certain percentage to the bartender and bus staff? I know that this can cut into tips considerably. Also, do they charge a meals credit against your base wage? I know from personal experience that some restaurants charge a meal credit that can be close to a dollar an hour, which really adds up with a base of $2.13. One of the examples assumed a $12.00 tip x 5 tables an hour for about a $60.00 an hour effective rate. My guess is that your actual is MUCH less than this. Am I right?
