tiny fold up seats

I just bought some tiny fold up seats that come in little cases and fully extended are about 8" across, 4" deep and about 8" tall. I was thinking I could throw one in my backpack, then use it to sit on while waiting for a parade or fireworks. I wouldnt be taking up any more space than if I were sitting on the pavement (probably less). Does Disney have a policy against this? I'm getting older, and its harder for me to sit on pavement, and get up from the ground, so this could be a lifesaver for my joints!

Imagine everyone at WDW with one of these chairs, at HEA, a parade, etc. Then imagine them all leaving at the same time, crowded together, etc. Way too dangerous, especially at night.

For HEA at MK, you'll be asked to move forward a hundred times before the show starts anyways, so there's very little time to sit anyways, ;)

I wish every Disney show had seating with back support and some type of chair system. Benches are brutal.

But the fold up seats are not allowed

Benches can be brutal but I would be grateful for ANY kind of seating , well at least any kind up from ground or curb level! I can walk well enough but cannot stand in one place more than a few minutes and have been missing large chunks of parades and fireworks since I started visiting WDW in 1994. I would love to imagine everyone with their own seat, fixed or portable, and maybe the jostling and shoving and people thinking it is OK to saunter up and stand right in front on someone who has been waiting along a parade route for some time time would abate somewhat.

I am resigned to catching glimpses of the tops of parade floats, fragments of castle projection shows, and random bits of fireworks, unless I watch them on YouTubem but they just aren't quite the same that way. This is well and truly my biggest beef with Disney Parks.

If you can watch the MK Festival of Fantasy parade from Frontierland, there are some large square platforms along the storefronts that allow for seating along the edge. There's no back, but it's better than sitting on pavement, and the view is great. The platforms are slightly elevated so that, even if you're seated, your head is at the level of those standing, so you aren't blocked. That section of the park is usually much less crowded than Main Street for the parade, and you'd stand a good chance of getting a spot on the edge of one of those platforms probably 30-45 minutes before the parade, maybe less during less crowded times. As far as the MK fireworks, if you can spring for the money, the Tomorrowland Terrace Plaza View dessert party could be an option, at $59 a head. You get a table to sit at and a nice spread of desserts and drinks, as much as you want. Just before the fireworks, you're escorted to a reserved viewing spot in the Hub that isn't crowded and has a great, straight on view of the fireworks and castle projections. There's no formal seating, but many people move to the back of the area and more or less lean on the top rail of the low fence that encloses the section. At least you would only have to stand for the duration of the fireworks and not for a hour or more before to stake out a spot.

Not allowed.
Also you will be asked to stand up if sitting on the pavement.
Sitting on a tiny chair or the ground becomes a tripping hazard.
If you are having a hard time standing to wait/watch a parade or fireworks then I would recommend renting a wheelchair.

I see ppl. all the time sitting on the pavement watching parades (behind the rope)....we did it last year at MNSSHP and was never asked to stand. Just yesterday there were ppl. sitting all over the pavement for HEA, during the celebrate it parade and the castle show (wasn't around during the 200 parade) so I'm not sure how reliable that info. is.

I don't think they are as strict about it during the parades when people are doing it right at the rope but I have seen many a time that CM's ask people to stand to wait especially once its getting dark out because it is a tripping hazard.
I myself have tripped over a few people who were sitting against the wall on the ground because I was not expecting them to be there.

Yes - when we were there a few weeks ago, CMs were telling people to get up and move forward at HEA. When the horde from the rear pressed forward, people had to scramble up or get stepped on.
