About 12 years ago, I had a ticket to see her in concert. Unfortunately, I was ill and couldn't go. She has been on my bucket list ever since, even though, a few years later, she retired. She had developed high blood pressure and she felt she couldn't give the level of performance that she wanted and knew the audience would expect from her. I had always hoped against hope that with medical advancements she'd be able to give a few concerts again some day, after all, and I'd get the chance of a lifetime to see her live.
Instead, apparently, her health declined.
RIP Tina. You have been a life inspiration as well as a musical one. You're simply the best.
For everyone else reading this: A reminder not to put off seeing our musical legends/icons. And don't put off doing other things we love. The clock is ticking on the time we have here.
What a life and career she had. I saw her live in the 80s when she was enjoying a second wave of popularity. I met her backstage and she was so pretty, and I was surprised at how short she was because she had such a command of the stage and she wore such tall heels. She was maybe 5'3, 5'4?
We need a Tina Turner Avenue somewhere well-populated. I want the GPS to prompt me to turn right onto Tina Turner Avenue. When I do, I want her music to be playing.
