I would estimate you should be there by 9:30-10pm, if everything goes smoothly.

Probably about right for budgeting. AVERAGE time is 70-90 minutes after walking off the plane. It could be a little later at night. It depends on how many people they're expecting.

Eat at the airport food court. There's one just before you take the tram to the main terminal and another larger food court in the middle of the main terminal. Something is guaranteed to be open and also you do not have to be punctual for Magical Express going to Disney.

Added later: In addition, for most of you, you will be eating closer to "dinner time".

I second that suggestion...there are quite a few good choices at the airport and you won't hafta scramble trying to get grub at a late hour at POP. As long as your flight is on time, there should be numerous options still open.

The food court in MCO is all but shut down at 10p, maybe even earlier. POP food is open until 11p for a lot of stuff but is open until midnight for snacks.

Your flight could be delayed, weather, and you won't be able to get food either place. You're at your departing airport and you see delays. Buy food at that airport to eat on the plane otherwise if your plane lands by 9 or so go directly to POP and if it land between 9-10 get something at the airport.

You think you may be starving. I think at least one of the offsite pizza places delivers late.

IF your flight arrives ontime at 8:10pm, you will most likely be at Pop by 9:30, latest would be 10. The food court at Pop will still be open and serving food. You should be fine.
Eating at Pop is a much better idea than at the food court at the airport.

I would bring dinner with me and eat it on the plane.

Hopefully it wouldn't be anything that had a huge odor.Just flew with a family that had some very pungent food on the plane. It took about 90 mins before the odor went away!!! Not very pleasant for those of us sitting near that family.

In all reality? I would just go to Pop, get checked in, put my stuff in my room and then go to the food court. It should be open and still serving regular meals. They serve regular food until about 11pm with light snacks until midnight.
This way, you get to unwind a bit and kill some time while you wait for your bags to be delivered to the room. Then, you can return to your room, nicely full and get ready to unpack and go to bed.

Why not eat dinner before boarding the flight? It might be an early dinner at your airport after getting through Security, but then you don't have to stress finding food when you arrive. I imagine your outbound departure time would be around 5:30 or 6:00 pm. Am I right? That means you'll be at the airport several hours in advance. If you get through security quickly (I know IND is a fast airport to get through security most days, not sure about your home airport) you could grab some food inside security prior to your flight and have it eaten, or mostly eaten, before boarding.
