Timeframe for transfer of points

If I were seeking a transfer into my 2014 June use year from another member who also has a June use year, is the transfer able to be done now--before my 2014 use year begins. I know that the transfer years between members must be the same; that is, 2014 to 2014.

It seems as though a transfer could be done now so that I could have sufficient points to book in August 2014 for a stay.

Yes, you can transfer points in either your current or next use year. Note that if your trip is in Aug 2014, you do not necessarily need a transfer of 2014 points. The transfer can come from a different use month than yours and you can bank points after they are transferred. Thus, for example, you could have someone transfer to you April 2013 points today, bank them into the April 2014 use year and then be able to use them for that Aug 2014 trip.

Also, if you are planning to make a reservation using the 11 month priority, the transferred points must be from the resort where you want to stay - otherwise the reservation cannot be made until 7 months before.

Thanks...yes, I am aware that transferred points maintain their use year and home resort. The few times I have transferred in, I have always gotten the same use year (June) and also the same home resorts. That way, they continue to show up online with my other points and makes it easier for me to keep track of.

The other member and I have already done our "once" transfer for the 2013 use year, so looking at 2014.
