Our return flight the day of disembarkation has been moved to 4:40 pm, so we don't need to leave the port area for MCO until around 1 pm. What suggestions do you all have for 3-4 hours of things to see/do in the area? Kennedy Space Center would be a natural for our family and the kids have never been, but I don't think we have time to do it justice and we may be feeling pretty mellow (read: depressed!) after getting off the Magic and not feel like some that requires active interest like that.

Are there any nice beach/wildlife areas around Cocoa Beach or on the way back to MCO? We're into nature, animals, that sort of thing. How about a good place for lunch?

we soent the day beforeour cruise in coco beach last year, It is so nice. The beaches were nice ( not castaway cay, but what is?;)
I am not sure if this is the exact site but www.dcltribute.com is an awesome site and had a lot of info on coco beach. I would look there. Maybe you caould get a day rate at a hotel so you could hang out use the pool. Check out the site abouve. Have fun

Since you're really into animals, you should consider the Brevard Zoo. It is about 30 minutes from the port, right off I-95, and the admission prices are very reasonable. It is a very nice smaller zoo where you can also kayak in a native Florida wetland area.

We rented a car and drove around the Banana River, (I think that's the name). There are several places where we got great views of the manatees swimming around.
We visited Kennedy Space Center before the cruise, but if you're interested in it and don't have the time to do it, you can drive near the beaches and get some great views of where they launch the rockets. My husband, who's a huge space nut, loved this.
Hope this helps, and have a great time on your trip!

a local restaurant landmark in the area is Dixie Crossroads in Titusville. They have a web site to tell you about it & also give you directions.

If you have never been to Ron Jon, you might want to consider checking that place out. It is a must stop for us anytime we are in the area.

A vit to Ron Jons and lunch at Dixie Crossroads would make for a nice afternoon. If you go to Dixie Crossroads, ask to sit next to the window and you can watch the turtles swim while you are eating.
Have fun!:flower1:

Hello Carla,
I would be most happy to send you some information from the Chamber of Commerce that would help you while you are here in Brevard County - I have discount tickets for Ron Jon's (15% off) plus other coupons - just drop me a note at snelsonbrown@aol.com.
Chat with ya later
