Time to get rid of Gilbert Gottfried in the Tiki Room?

Gilbert Godfried will not be taken out of the Tiki Room because Gilbert Godfried was never in the Tiki Room. The show is run by two talking birds named Iago and Zazu. How anyone could mistake them for an annoying human comedian is beyond me.

Besides, I don't think Disney would pull his character for being tasteless. I mean...they just went out of their way to revive a Michael Jackson attraction.

In the late 70s Tim Allen was arrested for cocaine possession and served a little over 2 years and then in 1997 was arrested again for DUI. He seems to have turned his life around so I dont hold the past against him or think Disney should pull him form anything.

I don't think you should remove him from the Tiki Room because of that. Would you remove all his scenes from the Aladdin movie?

This was my thought. Should Aladdin go into the vault and never be offered again ? I'm not crazy about the current show and would certainly enjoy seeing the classic returned. Would I change the show over GG's recent stupid comments ? Nope.

Gilbert has ALWAYS been an offensive, racist comedian (which is one of the reasons I like him)... Why change now.

I was honestly shocked 20 years ago when they hired him.

I believe he made something like 12 tweets and from the ones I read, you posted one of the tamer ones.


Its what he does for a living though, so I dont understand the uproar. If you hire a vulgar comic to do some voice work, don't be suprised when he makes some off color comments. I've listened to Howard Stern for about 17 years and Gilbert is a guest that is on more frequently than any other, so I am use to the language he uses. So maybe it doesn't bother me as much as others, but if I am his boss, I am not gonna be suprised when he says something disgusting.

Wrong. The Tiki Room will be reopening this summer.

Gilbert's comments did not cause Iago to be removed from the Tiki Room because he was ALREADY REMOVED!!! Fire took him out of the show in January.

There seems to be a lot of blogs, forums, etc that all seem pretty certain that the Tropical Serenade is returning (as the Disneyland show version of thankfully!) to the MK later this summer...... I would imagine if these various OPs are correct then an official announcement by Disney could be anytime......
