OMGOSH!! I just about pooped my pants full-on when I read about her pix loss!!! I really am still praying for a full-recovery of every single one of them!!!

Maroo and I had to have a heart-to-heart talk about pix losing prevention!! We'll be backing up every night onto my flash and her laptop!! This just scares me into leaking!

LOL We still haven't talked or heard from her wish granters yet. If we could do December for her trip that would be awesome. How far out did you pick the December dates? I wonder if they would make us go sooner since it would be 11 months away.

I think we picked those dates in June, maybe July? I doubt they'd make you go any sooner. I have only heard of them denying dates if GKTW is full and even then they often try to accommodate in a hotel.

I hope you hear from your Wish Granters soon! Sometimes it takes a while for the two Wish Granters to coordinate with eachother before contacting you.

After reading Stefani's TR update, I've been backing up all my pictures. I have a few months to go. I would kill myself if I lost all my pictures.. and I'm sure Mel would help too! I've been putting them on DVD and I need to get them on my other HD as well. Maybe I can even delete some pics off my MAC. I have close to 40 gigs of pics on here. I'd like to get that down to 10 gigs.

But...I am going to add to this.

After Katrina, my eyes were opened to pictures...and how to keep them safe.

Don't forget to keep a copy outside of your home. A tornado, fire or hurricane can damage things so bad that every copy of every picture could be gone in a matter of hours.

I upload my favs to photobucket and will eventually copy those over to Facebook, too.

I also have CD's in my safe deposit box of pictures.

I can't tell you how many people we talked to after Katrina - who lost EVERYTHING - and most of them wanted help in finding two things...pictures (which were usually long gone, but we did a few photobooks that were damaged, but at least they had them) and wedding rings.

I found a wedding ring for someone in MUCK - one of the highlights of my whole life - the look on that old ladies face. But that whole experience opened my eyes to what really matters in life. You can take people clothes, money, job, home...everything...and what they really want most is relationships and anything that ties people to those relationships.

My boyfriend bought his sister an external drive for Christmas. I think I'm going to get one for all my pictures (she got it for her music...but I just don't have that much!)

Part of me feels pictures are nice, but its the memories in our hearts - I have boxes of pictures before digital, I have photo albums, etc... but in the end - Life and Love and Today matters... the rest is icing!!

That is horrible.

This was for a very old lady...she was so sweet. It was a big ring (stone), but she really wanted it just to have to pass down to her grandchild. It was so sad and so cool when I found it! I was jumping up and down in MUCK.

OK Everyone.... Been gone from this TR for a while but we are getting really close. 50+ days to go and there has been a lot going on. In this post I will post a quick recap of our December & Christmas, then I will get to some MAW news and of course the trip.

This pic was from the Princess & the Frog premiere in NYC.

We went to Christmas Village to see Santa in the middle of the month. It is about a 1/2 hour drive away from us. We went with friends of ours.

Juliana had her Christmas Play at school where the kids sang about 10 songs, did crafts, and had lunch. Juliana is a ham!

We had our 1st major snowfall and Juliana really wanted to play out in the snow. We got her ready and headed out!

Before we knew it Christmas eve was upon us. We had my family over for dinner and gifts.

I have my Mickey Santa hat on, but it is hard to see the ears.

Christmas morning-

Melody's mom's BF dressed up like Santa and brought Juliana a princess scooter. Santa told her he forgot to leave it for her when he brought her other presents. She was in awe that Santa stopped. It was so cute.

Such great pictures of the family and I'm glad you guys do take pictures of all the "little" things. I'm big on the "little" things and it warms my heart to see them out there.

Looking forward to more updates!! 50 days? Gosh, once again I have a trip after yours so once yours is here ours won't be too far away! I'm still trying to figure out the "surprise" for my DS. Are you guys doing the Give a Day, Get a Disney Day? I have a few I emailed and one person I called sounds interesting and meaningful as they support childhood cancer Their agency works to get the Kids ID Kits set up and their donations go to different agencies so I'm really hoping it's the one we get to volunteer at. However, I need to keep this in mind since the trip is a surprise and I don't want to "lie" about anything! At 6 they really know what's going on and ask a lot of questions!

I signed up for the program. So far in my area (50 miles) there are only 3 programs. 1 is bringing your pet to seniors.. we don't have any pets. Well we do have one but it is Juliana's fish. The second is being taped while reading books and magazines. Then they are distributed to the blind or elderly. It says you have to go through a 2 week course first.

I will be watching to see if there is something that we can do.
