Time to DOUBLE up!! 2 for 1 Pre-TR!!!!!!! TRIP REPORT HAS STARTED!!!!!!!

Well here is my update from this past weekend. First I will quote myself about our friends party on Sunday:
I hope the weather holds out for them. They are having a birthday party outside tomorrow for the kids.

It started out nice. It was sunny, hot, and humid. Everyone was outside having a great time... until the dark clouds started moving in. Then the thunder and rain came. Normally these thunder storms last a little while and move out.... well not this time.:sad2: They just stayed over head and poured for hours on us. Our friends were cramming everyone into the house. I felt bad for them but these are the chances you take with out door parties.

Continuing on......

A fun weekend with friends AND DIsney planning!! :cloud9: have FUN!

After the disaster on Sunday, I was trying to set up a time to sit down and talk Disney with our friends. To make a long story short, it never happened.:sad2: We finally decided to talk when we go out to Indiana in July. It is only 5 weeks away and its not like I can book ressies now or airfare. The only thing I am worried about is losing the house I like. If we do lose it then I guess it wasn't meant to be!

Another crazy thing happened to me. On Monday morning, I was sitting in the living room with Juliana and I hear a bang outside. I look out my window and my neighbors GMC Jimmy is driving across my front yard! I run outside and a pickup truck that was driving down my street crossed over the yellow line and hit the GMC that was parked in front of my neighbors house. It hit is so hard that the tranny must of blew out and it when across my front yard through my bushes and hit my Tahoe. My truck is still drive-able but it has a huge dent in the side of it. I have to pick up the police report tomorrow and get my insurance agent on the case to get it fixed.

Melody was shaken up because Juliana usually plays out in our driveway riding her bikes or coloring with chalk. It took her a while to calm down. One of the kids driving the pickup went to the hospital (very minor injuries) and the other one walked away. Hopefully I can get my truck fixed soon!

So sorry this weekend didn't work out like you expected. I am glad everyone in your family is ok and that it didn't go past a dent in your car.

Ask for "Leff-suh"- accent on the first syllable, at the Akershus.

WOW! That's crazy about the accident on your street/driveway/yard! So happy no one was out!

SO SCARY about the accident in your neighborhood! Someone was definitely watching out for you all ...

We had some intense storms Sunday but they blew through pretty quick and we were able to head to our pool club for dinner.

Hey everyone. I have 2 more full weeks of crazy left. Then my life will be back to normal! We had another busy weekend! On Saturday morning we went to the Relay for Life and Juliana walked her first survivor lap. It was pretty emotional. Seeing people of all ages, sexes, and races walking the survivor lap just shows that cancer doesn't care about any of this stuff. It knows no boundaries. We stayed for a little while then I went to work but it the evening we went back for the luminary survivor lap. I thought the morning one was sad... this one was even worse. The whole track was lit up on both sides with luminaries with the names of survivors and people who have died. We purchased one for Juliana and my dad did too. Once I get the pics uploaded I'll post a few. We are thinking of getting our own team together for next year.

On Sunday we went to a party for all the cancer survivors from Juliana's hospital (CCMC) It was outside and set up like a big fair. She had such a great time. We met Miss Wolcott here. She informed us she is trying to have a Disney-themed kids fun day on our green in July to raise money for the Michael J. Fox Foundation.(trying to keep disney in my posts ;)) It is really great that they have these types of events for the kids that have been through he!!. There were some kids there who were going through treatment. It is so sad to see this... It makes you feel like going up to them and hugging them. It also brings back the memories of when Juliana was going through her treatments.

I'm gonna go try to find my camera and get a few pics on here.:)

OMG! How scary. That would freak me out too.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words about the accident. I've been dealing with insurances agents that never return my calls and a truck that needs to get to an auto body shop to get an estimate. We are lucky that this did happen early in the morning where no one was outside. Cars can be fixed very easily...... I'm glad thats all we have to deal with. :goodvibes

Aw! Your Relay pictures are wonderful! Like I mentioned to you before, I started a team in our area because I lost my dad to cancer when I was young. I'm so glad you got to participate with Juliana as a SURVIVOR. I bet it was really emotional. The luminary lap gets me every time. It's such a special event and I'm glad you got to be a part of it :)

When we were walking the survivor lap in the morning everyone was lined around the track and clapping while the survivors walked. Juliana was just walking and waving to everyone. It was so cute.... and sad. She still doesn't understand the whole cancer thing. Sometimes after her bath she wants to see her 'line'.. thats what we named her scar across her belly. It is a daily reminder of what she had to go through.

How do you start a team? Is there a minimum $ amount that you have to raise?

Great pictures and what a great cause. :)

Thanks! I've been reading your PTR.. just having the time to post is tough..... I'm trying to keep up with all my TR's. LOL

Great pictures! Yay Juliana!

Thanks. I was talking to a photographer at my wedding last night about cameras....... I need that Canon 50D!!!!!!!!!(now do I have an extra $1700 laying around?) LOL:goodvibes

All last week Melody kept telling Juliana that on Friday morning she would have no more diapers. Juliana seemed OK with the idea. So on Thursday night the 'potty fairy' came and took all her diapers and her changing pad. On Friday morning they were all gone. When Julian woke up.. it was on....well not exactly as planned. She didn't want to get out of the diaper she was wearing. It was like WW3 at our house. Melody is upset... Juliana screaming as loud as she could while I'm getting ready to leave for work.

I stayed home as long as I could but I was already running late... I had to leave. Once I got to work I called home and Mel got Juliana out of her diaper and into training underwear (Cloth inside with a plastic outside). And the screaming was over. (Thank God!) Well about 15 minutes later Juliana told Melody she had to go to the bathroom. She went on the potty and didn't want to wear the plastic underwear. She wanted her cool princess underwear. She went on the potty all day friday (including #2) with no accidents!:worship::worship:

Juliana had 2 accidents yesterday.... But she is still learning.

Now we need to try to figure out what to put on her at night. She has waken up wet the last 2 mornings. But HURRAY FOR ANA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

My 50D wasn't that much at all. But a 5D is probably that or more.

Yay on the potty training. We still do pullups at night. But lately she has been waking up dry, so I'm hoping that we soon will be out of that stage too. :cool2:

A lot of our schools have teams and since I'm a teacher, and my school didn't have one already, I decided to start one. Normally each area has a main website for their Relay. Here's ours http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?pg=entry&fr_id=12881 There is always a link that says START A TEAM. Then you fill out your info and you can invite people to join online so you can fundraise online and in person. I always add our 'in person' fundraising money online, but normally they have a BANK DAY where you can take it to the ACS people and they will add it for you (it just takes longer than if you do it yourself.) There's no set amount to raise to have a team, at least not for ours. This is our third year, and our first year we only raised about $900, but I think that's great for a first try and every little bit helps :)

YIPPIE!!! :yay: I'm telling you, that is the main point with potty training. She's totally into it and she WANTS to wear her princess underwear! Plus, getting #2 accomplished on the first day is HUGE! Way to Go Melody for sticking with it and Way to Go Daddy for your support on the phone :banana:

The 50D I am looking at has 2 lenses with it.

The 18-200mm lens is $600 if bought separately. I'm not sure which lenses I would even need.:confused3

We have to get her to have her milk with dinner instead of after. This way she isn't drinking too late and will be able to empty her bladder before going to bed.

Yay!!

Good job!

And good luck with the patience :)

It was bad while it was happening. But looking back 1 1/2 hours of screaming and crying wasn't that bad. LOL

I went on our Relay's website and I will have to wait to sign up our team. Now I have to start talking to friends to get them interested. I think it would be a great weekend if I can get all of our friends to help out and join us.
